So, some people think this is just another 'Eddie' whinge. Perhaps so, but the conflicts of interest that he exhibits just give so much ammunition that it is impossible to ignore. And why should we ignore things when he does do the dirty on other (usually non-Victorian) clubs??? And why should we be subjected to all the Collingwood hype simply because of his position in the media?? Personally, I couldn't see the relevance of the cross during the Footy Show to see the Collingwood Cheer Squad getting on their buses for the trip to Sydney....where were pics of the other clubs Cheer Squads???

The point you are missing...is Collingwood never had any reason to accuse those Boomer or Carlton supporters of attacking our players from behind while in the street, or for throwing urine on anyone or I could go on and on.....You don't seem to be able to face the cold hard truth that some Adelaide (SA supporters in general) are exactly as Eddie says they are...it kills you to face the truth.

Carlscum, Magpie and Boomer supporters know and admit everything that has gone on between our clubs....but we would all be too ASHAMED to carry on and on and on like the spineless gutless cowards that many SA supporters have painted themselves out to be.....you just don't take any responsibility for anything (extremely weak).

Its mainly interstate supporters (lead by SA) that carry on the most about El Presidenti...its not a issue for most other clubs but for SA's its everything to them..SA and WA are subsidised by VIC and NSW taxes and it has breed an attitude of dependency (same goes for Sydney and Brisbane due to the AFL dependency they have)....SA's are always the first to whip out their socialist rulers and proclaim yet another AFL, Victorian or Collingwood plot against them and if its not the SA's its one of the the other misfits...why aren't you as sick of yourselves as the rest of us are.

Don't know about the MCC contract but the rest is about right.....Why is he wrong? A fair few people think he's spot on.

The main reason for this thread is the fact that eddie should not use his position in the media to create tension between a vic club and non-vic club(this time Adel and NM)

Eddie must simply chose one path: Collingwood presidency or a position in the media. He simply cannot be both. No president should be able to have as big a part in the media as eddie. How they ever allowed it....

However, Eddie is a president of a Football club and therefore has legal loyalties to that AFL Club. So, if an issue arises that would seem anti-Collingwood, Eddie would not discuss it. However, if Sam Newman were the host, who does not have any legal loyalties to an AFL Club, he could talk about whatever club he wants.

I'm not dening Melbourne was the first Football Club at all. In fact, i'm not even dening a Victorian invented the game. What i am saying is that the Adelaide Football Club has been around longer than the Collingwood Football Club is a different question. I understand that for a period of 30 or 40 years or so in the SANFL the Adelaide Football Club didn't exist. But, in the 60s/70s, there was a "rebirth" of the Adelaide Football Club. So, the Adelaide Football Club has been around for longer then a century. It's just that there was a long period in the middle where Adelaide was not a side.
