Just announced Eddy Current Suppression Ring won the $30,000 Australian Music Prize.

They won for their album Primary Colours

Great band great album.

Missed them in Sydney last week as it is nigh on impossible to get tickets to see these guys. They should be Oz Rocks next big thing.

In ECSR related news I bought Mikey's side project "The Ooga Booga's" album the other day and it rocks as well. Talented young chaps they are.

I'm hard pressed to think of a better band in Australia at the moment - it's certainly well deserved. I saw them on Saturday night and they just keep getting better - they have some killer new songs too.

I am looking forward to seeing them at a small festival (500 tix) out of Melbourne over Easter.

Awesome news for a great Aussie band. I heard the story on JJJ, and I can't beleive they recorded their album for $1500! I can't think of a more deserving band to win this prize, and they are one of the best live bands in Aus at the moment.

Presets get a nomination? and Cut Copy? Like they need the $30k...
