What are people's thoughts on Jack Kennedy from Oak Park? Won the Rising Star for this week..

kid's a star, probably a little small for the top level but youd reckon he would probably have a crack at vfl in the next few years, just turned 18 so has plenty still to learn but he will be a handfull for most teams this year

Beaten on the day by a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds with a little help from players that have been out injured

First time I've watched Marby this year.
They looked slow and were smashed in the middle.
No. 9, 15 & 4 for Doutta's were very good.

Very good game at marby today.
Marby were by far the best side until 1/2 time, but got over run by a very quick and slick douttas side after 1/2 time. Unfortunately no footage of the 3rd qtr but douttas were unstoppable in the 3rd. I don't think marby were that slow, I think douttas were just very good with their foot skills and anywhere near 50mtrs out they were deadly.
Congrats to douttas on their win, thoroughly deserved.
Saw interesting decision in the magoos. A guy was penalized for tackling a bloke with a round arm into the guts. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.....

Watched the Keilor vs Greenvale match.
Keilor on top for the first half displaying good run and carry and always seemed to find an open man.
Second half Greenvales intensity went right up which put Keilor on the back foot. Chris Kent smashed Markham in the ruck giving Greenvale the opportunity to come from 5-6 goals back.
The slow start would be a bit of a concern to Greenvale whereas a few Keilor blokes may want to work on their attack on the footy..
On another note, umpires have to be able not fall into paying a lot of "home ground" decisions. It seems to happen every week!!

After reading about the $2 dim sims on offer at strathmore I had a look myself today. $4.50 for a hot dog and $4.00 for a powerade....... thought I was at the MCG for a little while. No wonder Red Rooster on Paco Rd does a roaring trade at half time. With prices like that you would think service with a smile but the ladies couldnt even muster up a grin........

Hats off to the Marby Barby today.
A fine burger indeed with a plethora of condiments to choose from.
With the $ they've got down there they damn well should be able to provide a delectable selection of gourmet treats for the needy patrons.
Have to agree with Pappa B, the Strathmore canteen needs to pick up their act.
How 'bout plucking one of the fine Chardy Mums from the Ladies Lunch to greet the pilgrims with a toothy grin. I'm happy to pay Joel Reynolds mortgage but want value. Give me value I plead.

most of the workers would be volunteers. most likely player parents etc.
Could be a massive Wake up call for the strong Marbi side, especially coming up against Greenvale this week...

Wake up call??? Must win game now for Marbi thats all. Its hard to win the flag from outside the top 2. They are a quality outfit and one bad day in 12 months won't put too much pressure on anyone.

yeah agree their not really under pressure as yet but they havnt really been ultra impressive either, didnt see the game against keilor but was told that keilor had plenty of the ball and had something like 20 more inside 50,s... i saw the oak park game and with no bias at all i think oak park were the better side on the day and probably deserved to win, now with the loss to doutta's i think it may just be a slight wake up call to a few, not all of the marby side... who know's what may happen, i think the top 4 may drop a few they would usaully win this year as it seems to be a very even comp at the moment
unbelievable win by douttas. they were staring down 0 & 4. is marby not as good as everyone predicted? they have had a few bad weeks in a row.
will be great clash this week with greenvale who simply cannot work out how to lose a home & away game.
strathmore very impressive against abers. side are very experienced and have a lot of class. moved the ball with precision down the creek wing all day. someone says it every year but sides should play a loose man on that wing. I reckon they are a big chance for top 2, considering they have dibgy & fitzy to come back.
have to agree that the canteen at strathmore is a disgrace. I had a ham salad roll for $6 which would have cost about 30c to make. obviously we all have to contribute to getting their team on the park.
They were good for 3 qtrs on Saturday, our 3rd Qtr was probably the best i have seen for about 4 years..even Marbi people said they havent seen too many sides play like that against them before.
We are on the right track as a club with our youth policy, take out C.Rutley, B.Power and A.Destanovic our average age is 20 so it looks good for the future.
We still have a few to come in like Carey, Taylor, Wilson, T.Tankard so hopefully we can get a few wins on the board and get the season back on track, will be a massive game this week against Oakers, always a tough encounter between the 2 sides..

I saw you gorging on that ham roll. The poor thing didnt stand a chance with your 'low flying blimp' type frame. At $6 a pop, you must have spent a pretty penny. I must admit I didn't try any of the food down at strathmore on saturday but the prices seem incredibly high.
Stratty looked very slick when they moved the ball, they will be a big challenger for the premiership this year. They still have Zantuck to come back in as well. Is Dale May still going around this year because he was missing on the weekend as well. They were much too good for Abers, hopefully we can bounce back against a resurgent Cragieburn this week. It will be interesting to see who they put on big lance, by all reports he is tearing it up.

for other clubs the profits from the canteen would be put into the player payments and so forth.

i'm still curious on how much scotty lucas is making.
someone on here pegged the number to $1500 per match. i guess it seems like a lot but when ppl are paying $6 for a sandwich it makes much more sense.
there's no way lucas would be playing for less than $1000 a game. the guy is a multi-multi-millionaire.
