Well there's a few people egg on this faces, including me:eek: Well done to D.S and Craigieburn.
I heard that D.s suffered a few injuries during the game and had a reduced bench which makes the win even better, does anyone know how bad the injuries were and if they will be able to get up for the big game against Marby this weekend?:thumbsu:

Great effort by both clubs,
just goes to prove that you dont need to recruit a team of "mercenaries" to win a game in this comp.

WEll heres what I know-
Captain Nolan sits down with coach and prez to be told he is no longer captain, ok then says Nolan I'd be happy to help groom one of the younger guys for the future of the club, who is it going to be?? Well its not one of the younger guys it actually Hall whos is 31 and only been at the club 1 year:confused::confused:. Oh well ok then Nolan trains next couple of night coach and prez dont speak to him at all:confused::confused:
Senior players that have left< off the t:confused:op of my head after a few beers:D Nolan yes 2nd div, to Pacco obviously on good coin but has played for unders for years, his old man apparently has ties there. Lots of other Div 1 players are there, the club obviously wants to be in Div 1 so I think players will stay there.
Couple of guys to Montmorency div 1 northern league.
2 or 3 to Glenroy where other mates already play These guys may be the ones that have "had it to easy for to long" How:confused: by rocking up week in week out, helping get Craigieburn into div 1, training, participating socially with parents on the commitee and watching on while high priced recruits come and go!! Lance Whitnall leaves Lalor cause they wanted him there for pre-season so Barnard recruits him on decent money i would presume:confused: Paul Oneil want to go play down St Marys div 1 I think.
Yes Craigieburn is a proud club supported and mainly sponsored by Locals, thoose locals like to have as many as possible (not all) local kids playing in the side Sadly allot of good locals have left for more money over the years, because there form Craigieburn they dont deserve to be on decent coin apparently the big coin is saved for the Whitnalls, Christou's and a few others.
Alot of players are leaving and Barnard does want to change things up alot but with those leaving what happens on field? the only recruits I see are George Backoulas:confused: lol why would he play at Craigieburn doubt he will last the year and a few guys from the northern saints, are they any good I dont no??
Off the field well the players leaving did contribute alot socially along with parents and freinds. so does that see the club benifit financially?? The Bottom line is Barnard and Prez are cutting things back very thin, will it cost them a spot in Div 1? Will Barnard stay if they go back to Div 2 during this rebuild or will he bail? A very interesting year ahead.

Hmmmm....hello...

UPSETS. The onlything that made these upsets was the lack of football knowledge by earlier posts on this site.

So you dont think Keilor should have been favourites against Crazyburn?

Great wins for both Crazy and Douttas. Maybe Barnard is doing something right.

Abers top of the table!

Great to see a very open round of football and some of the sides that people had written off get up, I think this year will be a lot more open than everyone expected but one thing is certain the standard has gone up to another level.

HHmmm, McGuanes assistant for past two years (Rick Meatloaf I think his name was) leaves for head job at Sunbury, (not the real head job if you get what I mean) and the Keilors machine doesn't fire a shot.....

http://moreland-leader.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/brawl-leaves-junior-player-in-hospital/

where has this league come to?
barel are we exposed to this sort of nonsense, where junior players are kicked in the head.
the league should act on this and stamp it out of our league!

SS

I am absolutely frustrated when i see this type of comment. Firstly how can the EDFL or the two clubs involved be accountable for spectators that jump the fence? Unless of course they are members. And all of a sudden how does this incident no matter how unsavory reflect on the whole of the EDFL. I am certain that both clubs involved would be devastated by this occurance. Let's get all the facts before we get on the bandwagon of belting the clubs & league as I am sure they are working tirelessly for their players & members.
That said let's pray the kid that was kicked is OK and is back playing footy asap.

2008 - Keilor 0-2 then went onto to take the flag. It will certainly be another interesting season with the mightly Blues there again to possibly steal another one.

Keilor were 4 points down at half time then Strathmore kicked 16 goals to nil in the second half. What happened? Are there injuries at Keilor?

Went and watched this and was a less than pathetic display from Keilor in 2nd half, didnt appear to be any significant injuries just were out ran and out worked by an impressive Strathmore outfit. Keilor with no ruckmen were just smashed in the middle and don’t think they won a clearance all day. Strathmore without a significant increase in personal from last year looked much fitter and the pressure they put on the ball carrier was immense, with 2 wins against predicted top 2 teams they could be smokies..

Keilors only defence was that one of their trainers and the father of Daniel Cooper, Steve died of a heart attack Friday, RIP big guy.. which I would imagine would have taken a fair bit out of the players mentally..

Marby by 90 odd over Doutta's

I watched this game and couldn't believe how many young blokes Douttas were playing. I counted at least 4 blokes who were under 18 who all played quite well but obviously not going to be world beaters just yet. Douttas tried their guts out but lack any real quality. They've lost Jones, Carey, Hollow, Doc, S.Smith etc and do not seem to have replaced them with anyone of any note except for Liddy who looked quite good and Stapleton was pretty good also.

Do Douttas have anyone to come back into this team apart from Hamish Moore who is out for half the year?

I also was at the game and watching Marby first hand was incredible. They have put together a great list - Livingston, Piccione, Holland, Bullen, O'Halpin have all spent time on an AFL list and players like Carey and Aryres are just elite EDFL players. It really was a case of Men V Boys on sat. There would be few teams in Victoria - outside of the VFL - that would beat Marby when up and running.

Good to see Marcus playing the kids - they need to start for scratch and build the club up.

Strathmore looking good with at least four good players to come back after the easter break. They will probably have to come back via the seconds.
