Sorry for the double post, I just wanted to know, if a footy game is called off prior to half time is it declared a draw or is the team that was leading get the 4 points?

Depends on the score at the time im pretty sure. Remember playing against a Marby side in juniors and being up by nearly 25 goals in the 2nd quarter before it was called of for an a fight between a player and umpire. We got the points, probably because they threatened the umpire but the score would have to come into it aswell

From the EDFL By - Laws,

9.2 In the event of a match being abandoned after commencement for
whatever reason, the points shall be allocated as the Board of Management
sees fit.

The score was 21-34 in this case, but yeah we'll just have to wait and see what the EDFL says

Anyway back to senior B grade, Westmeadows vs Airport West has to be the match of the round.

Westy have exceeded everyone's expectations this season, and now sit comfortably in the top 5, holding a 2 game lead from third placed Tullamarine. They are coming off a hard fought 15 point win over Keilor Park.

Airport West started the season off with 3 losses, but have re-grouped and now sit 4th with a very healthy percentage. They are coming off a 200 point win over Sydenham, and two weeks prior destroyed 3rd placed Tulla at Tulla.

This will be a very good game, but I think Airport West are travelling along nicely and should defeat Westy in a close one.

My tip: Airport West by 15 points

I heard during the week that the EDFL will introduce a senior C Grade next season with the bottom 6 B Grade teams making up the new division. Is there any truth to this?

This could be a good idea to prevent teams like Taylors Lakes, Airport West, Pacco completely destroying lower teams like Jacana by 35+ goals. The comp would certainly even out

Great idea. Could be the wishes of the new boss since Stan Pettett got the flick.

Theirs wasn't so successful but the way they did it was wrong. They made 3 divisions half way through a season!

the teams that were getting pumped in division 2 and are now div 3 are loving it........

Could not agree with you more, Hadfield FC moving upward and forward to a bright future with plenty of strong youth and constantly improving senior and reserve sides.

Also a massive win by the Dub to get over Westmeadows! they seem to be the inform side along with Taylors lakes who are STILL yet to drop one. Approaching the tail end of the season this weeks match between APW & HFC willll be an absolute cracker. Playing for 3rd or 4th spot whats your tips?

2 teams that are in great form. Hadfield have won 7 in a row - their last loss was to Airport West at Airport West and there was not a lot in the game. Tough pick with Airport West now flying - I will go Haddy at home by 10 points. The other big match is Lakers V Tulla - with Tulla falling out of the top 5 they really need to pick this game up. Lakers will finish on top with a win this weekend so a lot for both teams to pay for.

KP is windy at the best of times but on the weekend took things to another level. Only 1 goal kicked to the stadiam end in the 2's and 2 goals in the ones. 3 goals out of the 26 to one end.

its been a while since ive had a look at this thread and the B Grade ladder

I would have thought Glenroy & Pacco would have been 1 & 2 given all the big signings in the preseason

Whats happened??

Why are Taylors Lakes cruising along and undefeated, If they dont go out in straight sets how do people think they will handle A Grade?

Like any B grade side they will need to get a cash injection and recruit some quality players to compete in A grade. Lakers have kept this side together for a while now and they have matured into good players. A win this week they will finish 1st - have the bye and the double chance. Paco and AP look the most likely to be Lakers danger teams. Not sure what has happened to Glenroy??

Hadfield over APW by 39 points puts them a game clear in the 5 and 4th equal on points with Paco but a worse percentage. GO HAWKS!

Thats a good win. Lakers stay undeafeated with a 7 goal win over Tulla.

The pressure goes onto Airport West - they play Paco at Paco and Glenroy at Glenroy in the run into the finals.
