Pacco don't have 11 players out 3 - 4 at most and Fidaa is running around in the 2's Westmeadows have been good so far and we can't knock them for there efforts thus far WELL DONE GUYS they have had a fairly easy draw until the weekend I think they will get found out and i doubt that they will be there come finals time They lack depth as you can see from the reserves results and they have 5 - 6 fringe players if they get some injuries they will struggle.

yep the new pres would only agree to clear him if he didnt play against roxy doesnt matter he is happy playing with his mates at hadfield and full credit to haddy for making him feel welcome he will really start to enjoy foot again

mmmm, makes you wonder doesnt it.

I hope his old man doesnt have much to do with Haddy, otherwise they could end up the same as Roxy...

Pascoe vale did have 11 out, so wait till the year progresses, would love to see pascoe val and west meadows meet in the final, no doubt would be a totally different result.

im fairly close with 2 pacco boys mate and you dont have 11 out! fact. interesting to see the two teams who everyone predicted to slide this year are top 2, money doesnt buy everything!

was reading on some other site about paccos outs..

"Corey Bannister, Toby O'meara, Fidaa Ahmed, Matt Perri,Daniel Sipthorp, Craig Morris, Dean Tydell, Cameron Rooney, Ryan Keyes, Josh Williams and BO Alexander"

1 may be playing 2s for disciplinary reasons but im sure will be straight back in after doing his time and id say at least 6 or 7 are walk up starts.
so they are battling with a few injuries but with the the other talent they have they shou;ldnt be losing when there 40 points up! i just hope people arent writing them off? because theres still 11 weeks to get it right for when it counts

I know no one is really bagging us so this is not a retort. But seriosly, who did you want us to beat? At the end of the day 18 Westmeadows Players to the field against 18 Pascoe Vale players. At the end of 2 hours of tough footy 1 team scored more than the other.

Before this site disolves into a Hypothesis of Theoretical discussions about probable scenarios based on yet to be realized outcomes, how about we stick to talk about what has actually occured and not what is potentially possible.

As we know the formula for potential is Talent x Hardwork/Availability. A reduction of these 3 key ingredients and the value of your potential is greatly reduced.

Mindbender....

More then happy for Westmeadows to continue to fly under the radar. It appears that everyone is surprised that we are on top of the ladder, and they are all waiting for us to fall over. (I'm not a current player, played a couple of years as a junior, but regularly attend on game day)

At the end of the day who cares what everyone else thinks? I can see how we have improved, and quite frankly don't care what other people post here as excuses. It is not the responsibility of the Westmeadows Football Club to prove these people wrong - all we need to do is go out on the park week in week out trying our best to bring home the 4 points.

Bring on Tullamarine tomorrow. I look forward to heading down to Willowbrook and hopefully seeing the boys win another 4 points.

Craig Ryan - Your information is incorrect Westmeadows are NOT on top of the ladder Taylors Lakes are they have 40% on you and they have played quality sides in Pacco Tulla & Keilor Park.

A bit pedantic champ.

Unbeaten and 2nd on percentage. I just hope we are able to maintain the way we go about our footy as opposed for wanting praise.

I couldn't care less if no-one praised us and it resulted in us going deep into finals. I'm sure many people on here would agree - it's the results obtained on the park that matter.

I look forward to tomorrows test against Tulla.

I wish Westmeadows the best of luck for the remainder of the year, they have certainly suprised everyone this year especially with the players they have lost, i just don't think they have the talent or depth to be there come finals. I think the likes of Taylors Lakes, Pacco, Airport West, Glenroy, Tulla and Keilor Park will fight it out for the finals spots.

Craig me also. The ladder and results are the radar and everyone can see that.

As I say the comments about us at the moment are very complimentary. No one is bagging us which is great, the comments are appreciated. I'm sure there are many that doubt how sustainable the current status is. That's fine people are shocked.

My comments were more about.... we can do no more than what has been done to date. What will happen in August/September will be known then.

The players & coaches are all humble. No one is gobbing off and calling for finals etc...we are all just going about our business and waiting for the next challenge to present it's self.

Time of arrival is 2:10pm tomorrow after noon. against our biggest rival who are always hard to beat.

From the top 21 players at the club....we haven't lost anyone that hasn't been replaced with someone better.

I think the results to date reflect that. We have already won more game than last year.

Mindbender can you tell us who Westmeadows have recruited this year? P.Mullen & K.Wintels Any others? Matt Sammut & Liam Turner easly the best two players at the club last year by the length of the flemington straight.

2009. 5-12
2010. 6-0

individuals are not important. That's why we let them all go.

For what it's worth Westy have beaten comparable sides in Pacco and Airport West.
I know the finals are still a long way off but regardless, well done everyone down there.:thumbsu:

I hope westy get flogged on the track this week. Horrible from the 15 min mark of 2nd quarter. Pretty disappointing viewing.

What happened? Last time I heard they had Tulla on the ropes and were leading by 5 goals at half time

Lead 10 goals to 2 half way through second quarter. The football from both sides was of reasonable quality. I felt that the Westmeadows defence stood up very strong. However from that point on, Westy lost their way a little bit and they went in 11 goals to 6 at half time.

Tulla challenged all day, and unfortunately Westmeadows were unable to go on and win. I'm sure all involved at the club will be disappointed with the final result, however I have no doubt they will be keen to get revenge next week.

Whilst it was disappointing to see the boys lose from that position, it must be noted that Tullamarine never dropped their heads and continued to push all day. The midfield eventually got on top and Westmeadows were unable to respond.
