The problem is that the school next door to TLFC actually owns the ground and therefore council or TLFC cant regulate how much use the ground has.

thats a very strange situation for a club not in the vafa. thought councils would have been in charge of grounds in the edfl

And I thought Haddy were going to be the first to beat TL

Haddy the first to beat Taylors lakes not if they put up an effort like today against Northern Saints they were very very average and if the Saints had a little bit more class to finish of some of there good work they could have a caused a real boilover I don't think the coaching staff at haddy would be happy with the performance served up today.

How good are 3 of the games this weekend! 3 massives games!

Paco V Airport West

Glenroy V Westmedows

Haddy V Lakers

A loss to Glenroy will end their season - even if they win they have to beat Lakers in the last round. Haddy lose this week their season is 95% over. Tulla will take Haddy's spot as they will thrash Roxy.

4 teams will play finals - Paco, Lakers, AW and Tulla. IMO - The last spot to be taken by the winner of Haddy and Westmeadows in the final round.

Paco, Glenroy and Lakers to win this weekend.

Been to look at the so called top teams in B Grade over the last few weeks, went to Taylors Lakes and Westmeadows, if that is the standard of football they play and think that they will be competetive in A Grade, leave West Coburg in A Grade. Both teams play scrappy football, they are too small and will be smashed by the top teams in A Grade. Whoever goes up, will be back straight away

They said the same thing about Marby a few years back.

probably a marby hater who said that i would think. they were always going to stay up.
The A grade standard is terrifying at the moment, whoever comes up has their work cut out for them.

Oak Park was B grade last year. They are a chance to win A grade this year. Teams can make the jump no matter how terrifying people believe it to be.

Oak Park had an A Grade list last year and have built on it this year with higg's, hooper, stone, considine and grahem (all have vfl experiance), Also everybloke in that team had played at a higher level, where as most of Taylor's Lakes players have grown and matured in B grade, from what i saw last year they would need 5 or 6 very experianced players even to stay up, great team ethos and they battle hard but they were very much lacking in skill and would be exposed for pace.

I think pacco would have the best list to come up, plus they have the budget to stay there but in all honesty i hope taylors win as it's a a good win for clubs who stick with home grown's and keep persisting

Lifted this from EDFLFOOTY.com

With two rounds to go and finals in the air its a chance to have a look to the contenders and where they are likely to finish. Some have been big surprises and some have been failures.

Taylors Lakes- Without much fanfare have so far put together a mighty year. Great depth through their midfield and despite lacking names up forward they have improved and stepped up to be a real threat. Sensationally well coached. Leagues ahead of the pack for structure and discipline to instructions.

Pascoe Vale- Had all the hype pre-season and with good reason. The most impressive list on paper but like Aker probably have some decent egos to boot. This side can win it this year purely for the fire power it has. It is well balanced throughout and if they gel properly and all pull together then in my opinion will do enough to play A Grade next year. Their budget demands it. Their weapon is also their achillies heel. How do you get Flavel/Ahmed/O'Meara and Bannister all walking off the ground satisfied?

Westmeadows - One of the best stories of season 2010 so far. Declared an also-ran early my many (me included) they have pulled together and produced some great footy. Have begun to slip recently and in reality will have to play well to play finals but many thought a bottom 4 finish was on the cards. I am declaring my man-crush for Tank. Wouldn't everyone like to run out on saturday with this bloke? Beat Haddy in the last round and play finals. Lose it and they are toast.

Hadfield- Another team rising and playing good footy. They recruited well and have shown good enough form to play finals. Would be good to see them running around in Sept. A down-trodden club for so long they deserve this and would relish the challenge. Westy in Round 17 decides their fate. If this club can manage some minor discipline problems then they will continue to improve. Don't let a few peanuts hold this very proud club back any longer. Robbie derserves much credit.

Tullamarine- Young and quick has exposed some of the sides bove them so far this year. Will continue to improve with such a young list. The state of their reserves will hold this club back until it gets some depth but their best 18 is very competitive. Ash needs praise for keeping them focussed and getting a side with probably the 6th-7th best list into the finals. Westy lose both and they could steal 3rd.

Airport West- Miss finals and heads will roll. Not entirely their fault as their two boom recruits walked out. Could be a blessing as Faraj is better than oldboy Clarke and the fat 'prince' anyway. This side has been "building" for 4 years now and produced nothing. One week they look like a premiership side and kick cricket scores and the next put up meek displays that insult the likes of the great A. Gentile and Pappa. Consistancy is key and maybe they can squeeze in. 5th for me. Still not good enough.

Glenroy Easily the biggest disappointment of the year. List is Top 3. This side looks better on paper than their premiership side of 2008. Should have spent the money in A grade rather then come back to finish a solid 7th with a list that includes Kite, Dulic, O'Neill, Campbell, Salt, Jeffries, Hillsdon, Pitts, Baker, Haddad. I can't explain why they are where they are. Anyone?

Ladder in my opinion

TL
PV
TULLA
APW
HADFIELD

WESTY
GLENROY

Great post regarding the contenders Bigsticker

Lakes are very good and their discipline is excellent let hope the wobbles dont start come finals [goodluck]
PV must be dissapointed by their season so far but they are still there and will be a real threat in the finals
Westy have played above all expectation other than their own. Hope they stay in the finals but some young sides find a season very long
Haddy great to see them start to have some success very strong over the ball and play for each other. Lets hope they clean the last peanuts out and become the great side they should be.
Tulla has had an up and down season but I dont believe in luck getting you into the finals either you win enough games or you dont if your there you deserve it.
A/W the smoky for mine they run very well and if they get it right should match T/L very well [just goes to show old money men are not what sides need]
Glenroy have not seen them play so only going on heresay but they have been a bust. With the side they have should be there but like I said before win enough and you will make it, then its a different ball game.
I agree with the possible ladder but one game to go let wait and see.

I have been taking a fair bit of interest in the comp this season and I must admit I am pretty impressed with this years media coverage. Pilios and his co-workers commentate the games really well and actually do it at a level that is better than you hear generally at local level. The web tv shows are very good, best I have seen was the most recent with Scott Lucas and Tulla coach. Very informative and would be good to get an Edfl tv show to be able to watch on the big screen and some footage from the games.

Glenroy would have to be disappointed if they don’t make it. Looks just about impossible for them now!!! Who are everybody’s thoughts on the bgrade this season? Has Jordan Bannister really played with Pascoe Vale and when will we see him in the ones? The B Grade Finals will be as good as ever this season.

Bit more than blind faith there Kings Army,Haddy beat tulla by 6gls ,Tulla then beats Westy by 5 gls. Haddy match up well against TL and could have nearly beaten them first time round had we kicked straight in the last qtr.
And as for your reference to ladder positions the way I see it is, that there is very little difference between any of the top 7 teams.[/quote

in what way do haddy match up well agaisnt lakes its probably been 10yrs since you beat us! lakes had there worst game for the yr last time we meet and never looked like losing, sorry mate your living with the fairies

hadfield must beat westy next week for a spot in the finals with APW playing east keilor and tulla playing moonee valley a loss to westy will see them finish 6th

What a huge game - elimination final for Haddy. Westy win they get the double chance - if not Tulla should pinch it. Both Westy and Haddy have so much to play for. Glenroy's season ended with a cruel 1 point loss.

What a huge final round!

I dont think you read the ladder too well Kwame & Kings Army. Westy have locked up the double chance no matter what happens next week. Only relevant game is Haddy win and they make it lose and Airport west finish 5th. Nothing else changes. And saying glenroys season ended cruelly. PLEASE!!! they are 2 games out and they have not played Lakes at all. With their list should have finished top 3. They will prob finish 3 games out, nothing cruel about that.

Just wondering if either of you have had a look at the ladder???

WM are two games clear of APW so can't miss???

They also have a far better % than Tulla & Hadfield so can't move from 3rd, need to drop 30%, not likely.

Hadfield lose there out........it looks a pretty simple equation to me.

Maybe WM might rest a few prior to tackling the PV in the final, won't make APW to happy. Heard Rooney wasn't to thrilled with his players effort?

They are playing pretty good football down at APW & Hadfield at the moment. Been a shame for one to miss out?

Still think PV are the team to beat.

I think a one point loss at this stage of the season with a chance to make finals would be pretty disappointing, don't you???
