Those teams you mention may as well flag off season 2011 as they'll be the ones put to the slaughter.

All teams can stay up depending on what happens this year. Where you finish is the points you earn. Finish 2nd you get 2 points finish 14 you get 14 points. Who ever has the most points go to Div 3.

Even taking into account 09 and 10? IIRC those teams all finished in the wrong end of the ladder in those years.

At least hit the clubs who can't field four age group sides and then the ones who have battled.

Re: EDFL "B" Grade - 2011 3 div

watch how many players will jump from the 3 div. if they bring that in. My son has already said he`ll will go elsewhere rather they play against the same clubs 3 times a year.

Sunbury Kangaroos to be the first new club to join the edfl followed by Parkside, once they have merged with Flemington juniors and then Sunbury Lions in 2013 if they can get the Junior club on board.

They will get more clubs - Toolern is a cert, 1 of the 3 Melton and Sunbury teams, a new team in the growth corridor of Greenvale. It will not take long to get 10 teams in all 3 grades. End of the day teams like Jacana and Roxy can build a team to play finals -at the moment they are going backward. A good move by the EDFL:thumbsu:

Can't see sunbury kangaroos playing in the edfl... Riddell league suits them.... The only sunbury side to play in a local comp.....

Coburg districts should try get a junior program running and join the edfl..... Making their senior recruits more likely to stay at the club

Districts will always struggle. Surprised they are still alive TBH.
With the clubs in the surrounding area, it will always be a battle for them.

There are enough kids in the area just look at pacco oak park and hadfield junior numbers. Being in the edfl would help them attract new players

Would probably require the EDFL capping junior sides at per age level. Don't teams like Paco and Strathmore have 3-4 sides in some levels? You think they would go to other clubs in the area to help spread the load...

Re: EDFL "B" Grade - 2011 3 div

i dont think Greenvale will like another team on their doorstep taking away their juniors(cash cows) from them. growth corridor ???? do you mean Craigieburn.

Northern saints...... Had a practice match against 22 witches hats today.... Surrey park scored two behinds for the game

How did Jeremy & Mark Bennett go ? Did any of the ex Macleod players get a run. Dekka, Colla & Andrew Marris will take this club to a new level...

Bit small for a ruckman....but he will give a contest.
Mark may take a little bit more time having missed over a year, but will worth the wait if his body is 100%. I'm sure Jezza will add some speccies to his highlight reel during the year. He will keep the crowd entertained - certainly will be one of the best players running around in D2 this year.
I'll will get to a few home games this year if they don't clash with Macleod on the NFL

Not to rain on the parade as I don't know the players being talked about BUT you referred to the opposition as witches hats then sing the praises of a guy rucking against no one??

He isn't a ruckman.... Athletic ability through the roof though.... Has an enormous leap

Div 3 is now 100% in 2012. 8 teams will remain in B grade and 6 demoted to Div 3 based on a points system from 2009, 2010 and 2011 finishing positions. The 6 teams in the drop zone are - Syd Hillside, Nth Saints, Moonee Valley, Roxy, East Keilor and Jacana.

Keilor Park and Airport West are the 2 teams just above the drop zone and need a good year to be safe from the drop. If a strong team ie/ Sunbury Lions join the EDFL they will start in Div 2 and 7 teams will drop down to Div 3.

Can this happen - one of the 6 teams happens to win this year B grade premiership, will they go up to A grade or go down in C grade because based on the point system finishing position over the 3 years?

0% chance of that happening though

The 6 teams look set here are the points as it stands:

West Coburg - 0
Paco - 4
Glenroy - 7
Tulla - 8
WestMeadows - 11
Haddy - 12
Airport West - 12
Keilor Park - 14

Hillside - 18
North Saints - 22
Moonee Valley - 23
Roxy - 23
East Keilor - 25
Jacana - 26

Hillside a slim chance to stay up - must finish 4 spots in front of KP or 6 in front of APW. If Jacana win the 2011 flag they will go to A grade and it will be the bottom 6 sides with Jacana taken out. Would be amazed if any of those bottom 6 teams won this years flag.

What an absolute joke it will be if a team playing finals in B grade is relegated to C grade.
Playing in C grade will benefit Jacana and possibly Roxburgh Park. The other 4 clubs, who at the moment could possibly only be 1 or 2 years away from challenging for the B grade flag, will be taking so many steps backwards its not funny.
How can the EDFL even begin to justify this decision.
