We have briefly met. After the win you had in the final last year, Jake, I offered you a beer and you meekly said you had to drive. Which is fair enough.

And Stan, there aint nothing wrong with having a beer. I had one with a couple of the Catani guys after the game, have sort of met a couple of the Nyora guys, one or 2 from Stratford and others.

There is nothing wrong with introducing yourself to other posters. Being anonymous is for putzes.

When the tide was the other way 3 or 4 years ago, Nyora could "Only" manage 46 goals at best and that was in the days of 25mins plus time-on. They kicked 14 in the first quarter and that was their best effort.

Being that Nyora also have 18 players on the ground, and hoping they all have a pulse, as well as taking into consideration our ground's drainage has been a massive failure and the game will be played in smelly mud, I would think BBMs computer prediction would be a little over exagerated.

Bearing in mind also, that the computer doesnt distinguish between wet and dry tracks.

I would think the result may be somewhere in the order of 100-120 points.

It was 16-8-104 at quarter time in that game plugger. Then it rained a bit which slowed us down. Catani kicked a bigger score than we did that year.

It will be a flogging but all we can do is have a crack.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we also kicked a goal in that quarter. 17 goals ina quarter is huge. It did rain, you are right.

As I said in another post, ground is a bit soft, but we did train on it last night and the wings are fine, very solid. Up the guts is a little soft, but with plenty of sunlight between now and then, we are hoping it wont be all that bad. It will play a part in the overall result.

I also said that in fairness, the Nyora players have a pulse so it wont be all one way traffic. Its still 18 V 18 on the ground and we have a couple who wont play this week. Definately wont be 300 points. Highly unlikely to be 200. Paki gazzette said 184. I still think 100-120.

In the past when you guys flogged us, we also had a crack but just werent good enough. Its all you can do till you rebuild.

Yeah i think you kicked a goal near the end of the quarter. Ended up about 45 goals to 4 I think. I am sure we would have got to 50 if it didnt rain.

You blokes always tried hard although there was an ordinary day in 05 in round 18 when a few of your guys lost the plot. John Allsop kicked about 14 that day. Dont think there would be many from the seniors that day still at the club.

Your players gave us a guard of honour when we left the ground, was a bit of feeling in that game so we werent sure whether there was going to be a fight or what the hell was going on. One of the stranger things I have seen at the end of a game thats for sure.

that game was my second senior game, kicked my first senior goal.
there still would be half a dozen to 10 players that still play/spectate at the club every week. just head and i are the only 2 that play in our seniors this year.

Funny you should mention the guard of honour thing. Me and a few of the boys that played in that game we chatting about that at training last night. I reckon that was probably the most humiliating thing a coach has ever asked me to do. I will never forget that. As it happened, Adrian Carr said lets stand either side of the gate and cheer them off. He was obviously completely in awe of the side and he said to us "You're looking at this year's premiers, boys. Give them a hand"

Of course history tells us that didnt happen but it was pretty bad to be a part of.

Big Mantis kicked 15 to be exact. If you asked Kegga(Colin Smith), he reckons he kicked 14 of them on him. He couldnt miss. He was kicking them over his shoulder and from the boundary. I have seen Sheen kick 16 at Darnum before, but he didnt dominate like Mantis did, that day.

Yep a guard of honour. They lined up at the gate at darnum as we were having a chat after the game in our huddle on the ground. Then we started walking off and had no idea what was going on. Wasnt sure if we were going to get bashed or what.

Once of the strangest things i have seen on the footy field.

I don't know the coach or the whole situation, but surely the darnum coach did it too embarrass the players for an obviously poor effort. I doubt he was actually in awe of them himself. He would've been proving to the players how embarrassing it is to be in awe of the opposition. Surely.

I think there would have already been a few darnum ppl embarassed from a few things that happened that day and that season.

Very strange, i think there was probably only 1 person at the ground that thought it was a good idea.

That was the day that Adrian Carr was given a yellow card by the umpire, think it was Kevin McMillan, - he then told the umpire that he wanted a red card not a yellow one. Kevin obliged and gave him the red. Very strange behaviour from a coach.
