Credit to Dale May and his West Coburg lads on a ripper couple of weeks.

This might be unpopular and sticking the boots in. However there has not been a more disappointing team than Tullamarine this season. They were the outright favourites all off season.
Without Shaun McKernan they would have missed the top 4 I’m absolutely sure of it.
Prior to 2022 they had a good but aging list and added
Vistarini 29 prior comp medalist
Mckernan 32 ex afl
Odwyer 33 ex afl (don’t train)
Smith 33 ex afl (don’t train)
Bruno, dispensari 21-22 yr old (played 2s)
And others.

Why are most of there recruits over 30? Division 1 is not a league anymore where you can lump players past there best and be successful.

Today was the first time they played west coburg at full strength and they were soundly beaten regardless of margin. As we know they haven’t laid a glove on APW this year.

There could be a high list turnover at tulla next year.

not sure those younger players staying either, very popular guys at the club, but devoid of opportunities. Disappointing all round for Tulla.

Dale May one of the more recent decorated players in premier division.
Highly regarded. Whether WC win it or not would he be in line for a gig at a higher level.

Was definitely a very good player and would be very knowledgeable.

Don’t know if he’s in line for a gig at a higher level. The way he conducts himself leaves plenty to desire. He’s had many run ins on game day with opposition people/coaches/supporters.

I was there. Also disappointed.

Unfortunately there was an ugly incident early in the third quarter and once again the instigator appeared to be Lyndon Dunn.

I didn't see everything and when two Tulla players were lying on the ground, both with blood pissing from their faces, my concern was more for the players rather than who did it but the crowd certainly thought it was Dunn who caused it all. Perhaps Ferras Mehri might feel vindicated now.

After some pushing and shoving near the WC goals, a WC player (who I believe was Dunn but I'm happy to be corrected) pushed a Tulla players head into the face of another Tulla player. One Tulla player (Kirk Lang) was understandably very fired up after that and pretty much had to be forced from the field (with his face completely covered in blood). Five minutes later he left the arena with someone who I believe was going to drive him to hospital.

I'm still trying to work out how local footy works these days but surely the offending player should have been sent off???? I actually wanted to approach the umpires about this at three quarter time but I'm not sure if spectators are allowed to do that.

People in the crowd were asking that perhaps one broken jaw wasn't enough for Dunn. I certainly don't think he deserves to be playing next week. Once again if anyone saw it and can correct me then please do so.

It will be very interesting when the video comes out in a few days.

Well done to WC on making the GF. Unfortunately Tulla didn't peak at the right time of the season but I'll continue to support them next year.
There was nothing to see - umpires right there and saw dunn pushed a tulla player he collided with his own teammate - no report and get on with the game !

That is pure crap - would be better to look at DC who was going off his chops today - calm coach calm bench is normally the result but the tulla coach at times was out of control and hence they got what they deserved by WC today

Very, very disappointing.

Spagnolo was sensational for WC.

The footage will be interesting. There was a lot of blood on Lang's face. Sadly, I think this will be the most talked about thing out of the game.
yes, there was he was pushed, and he collided with his own teammate, nothing to see here !

Can someone tell me why DC is not under the pump to be sacked. Did nothing at WM and with the money they have spent at Tulla and hasn't produced, why is he still in charge..

Isn’t he moving to coaching director or something sillly like that next season and chapman coaching? But still the same crew really. Agree 110% he has underachieved for sure. Will they be courageous and make a call??

That might just be today - clearly you haven’t seen the last 18 months. From what I’ve heard he’s had issues with 3-4 clubs post losing to them. However as mentioned he’s unbelievably knowledgeable and very good coach for this grade.

That’s been called off. Ben Chapman won’t be at tulla in 2023.

Definitely a club in need of a new strategy/voice.

hence the reason big exodus of tulla players next season - no under 18s they will need the cheque book again for 2023

Are you sure about the 18s? Was talking to their appointed coach yesterday and he confirmed there would be a side.
yes, there was he was pushed, and he collided with his own teammate, nothing to see here !

Then the footage should clear them.

I also attended the Tulla v WC game. Ripper day, ripper weather and ripper ground. I thought it was anybody's game at 3/4 time. WC held the lead but Tulla had the wind. WC a bit too desperate and polished when it counted in that last quarter. Took my video camera and recorded the last half. Will upload to YouTube in a few days. The incident in the third quarter was ugly and there was a Tulla guy very upset and had to be restrained by a runner or trainer. Others on this forum have provided a better description of what happened. The incident will be in my video - I hope I don't upset or incriminate anyone with the video but I'll upload it as it is. It is what it is. Finally, number 5 for WC is a great player. Played well last week and also last Sunday. Let's hope it's a great GF. Gotta luv suburban footy.

As mentioned before, your videos are great. Upload it please.

Last week I watched one of your videos while on a plane to Cairns. It definitely helped me kill a couple of hours.

DC has to go, club to miss finals in 2023
The problem now Tulla has they have bombed out in straight sets is it's clear the recruiting they did was all wrong - Vistarini , O'Dwyer , Smith ect.. just never step up when it counts(I know Smith played ok last week).. Apart from their home growns(like any other clubs you respect them because they are loyal) , most of their "recruits" came to Tulla after playing at a number of other clubs on Big Money or a Job , so didn't go for the right reason(to do whatever they needed to do to win a flag) , therefore when push comes to shove they will always go missing... DC has had plenty(too many) chances with more resources than most , fact is he doesn't have the respect or authority from the players a good coach commands(players think they know better than him)... They should've made a GF with that list(if they had the right leadership)

Thanks for the positive feedback. Just finishing-up my video-editing from the Eltham V Banyule Div 2 NFNL game from last Saturday then will start working on the Tulla V WC game later today.

how dumb is Dunn? he's just come back from a broken jaw and now he's trying it on again ! time for him to retire
Neutral supporter . just watched the so called ugly incident.. Dunn has nothing to worry about. The ugliest thing about it was 1. Clubber Lang let himself down by giving away a free goal by being selfish and undisciplined and 2. Carrying on like a pork chop afterwards making himself looking even more stupid. He made a fool of himself and would be embarrassed by his actions

Accurate summary. Bit unfortunate the heads clashed but Hare was pushing a WC player and Dunn comes in and does the same. Lang certainly went off and needed to be restrained by his own runner and teammates.

Rumour yesterday was Deer Park are definitely joining EDFL Div1 next year. Is this right ??
Would be staggered if this was true and highly doubt it. Div 1 clubs would have every right to kick up a big stink if correct. The fact that they would win it easily and ruin that division for 12 months is one thing but you cant have 11 teams either it just doesn't work. Would need to relegate 2 teams because 10 teams is perfect for the 18 round season. Im not sure Craigieburn would voluntarily got down.
