Don't think any scores were kept but heard Burnside played and were annihilated by North Ballarat.
Seems a little odd they would put themselves through that, Nth Ballarat would be competitive (if not final makers) in EDFL A Grade having finished second in the Ballarat League last year.
it was a good chance for both sides to blow out some cobwebs & try some differe

I play at NB, so I'm not sure who the inclusions were for Burnside unfortunately but the ruckman Weaver was good and a few of the smaller blokes looked dangerous when taking the game on.Fair shout BJ.
Were you watching or just heard about game & injuries? Any new players from Burnside look ok?

Heard a huge punch up in the intra club match played between Burnside 17s v 15s. Spilled over the fence and parents involved. Apparently a 17s kid whacked a 15s boy and all hell broke out.

NB definitely at Premier level and won easily as expected. The NB General Manager is a coach at Burnside and originally set game up at Mars Stadium but council pulled the pin at the last minute.
Despite scores it was a good hit out with no major issues. Unfortunately with Bears forward line missing (Covelli & Fawcus) there was no targets to kick to. Good experience though.

Nice mate. I'll pose the same question I did to BlueJet - any of the new players look ok even if it was a tough day at the office or anyone we should look out for going into 2019? Seems to be a fair few ins on the clearance list.
Who else do you guys (I'm assuming you're Burnside?) play for remaining praccies?
The 3 Matt’s looked good. Busitill from Taylors, Brown from Werribee Centrals and Peterlechner from Marby will be good additions.
Last practice game is against Albanvale in the weekend.

One word DOLLARSJust had a quick look at those names.
Busitil played in a few flags in TL reserves and seems Brown didn’t play last year but will take your word on a good inclusions. Particularly if Brown played some senior footy with Centrals.
Looks like Peterlechner played some senior football at Maribyrnong in 2018 and kicked 40 odd from 12 or so games in the 2s. Given the first two defenders will generally head to those two names you mentioned were missing before (Covelli & Fawcus) is he be one to watch? Also, why did those two miss? Injured?
And with all due respect to your Bears TA, how did Peterlechner end up down there? Seems odd to be finishing 2018 in an A Grade senior side after some excellent magoos form and starting 2019 in a C Grade one?
Big test for Northern on the weekend up against Riddell. High quality side.

A good test Aucklander indeed, but for a side like Northern or any other side, looking to improve, there is nothing like competing against a quality side during pre season, to test how the game plan and structures along with anything else you have taught throughout pre season stands up... Great effort by Northen by taking this game on and I’m sure they will get plenty out of it...
What would be a pass mark Aucklander?
They look to have changed their list a lot from last year. Lots of younger players.
Relax Auckmel a high quality side in the RDFL. Yes they should beat Northern but let’s not get carried away
Ok mate. Just thought i would pull you back a cog. Would of thought it’s more the other way guys heading from EDFL to RDFL to get some senior footy and be a bigger fish...Sorry, bissa3, I had no idea you'd watched so much RDFL footy. Certainly hasn't stopped EDFL clubs recruiting out of the league.
Maybe 15 goals was a bit much, but really this is about a couple of teams getting set for their 2019 season, so good luck to them especially Northern.
I think in season which this game isn’t, ( these two sides are in different leagues after all ) and I’m sure every side will be trying new things, putting a margin or even keeping scores is a pointless thing to do. It’s all about the individual club getting out of the game what they set out to do. To see how new structures and set plays work, to see how new players adapt,to see how they work under pressure etc... I’ve always been about testing yourself against the best opposition, and to come out with a margin of 15 goals whether that be the case or not, I think it’s little disrespectful, when I assume you Aucklander don’t have much inside into northern and what they want out of this game...Ok mate.
