Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. Cat will and should be president for as long as he likes. Look at the junior program up and running again and the womens side ect ect. Its not all about he seniors.
Agree Hellsbells. Maybe he has been president for 20 years as no one else will put their hand up at that club to do it?

So you can coach a club that finishes nowhere near what their expenditure should equate to. This club plays in Div 2 for 1 reason. They are a Div 2 sort of club.
Over 20 years with 1 president, things need to be looked at , at the top.
Nice bloke but needs to move on.

Have you anything to do with the club

Agree Cat is a ripping bloke, and without him who knows where Coburg Districts would be thesedays.

I’ve been watching a bit of Div 1 footy of late. It was obvious the whowould make the four, so now I believe it’s set, even if Northern have an unlikely win against Coburg tomorrow.

The only changes will be the order of teams, 2,3, and 4, so from that perspective will be an interesting finals to see who will try and take on Sunbury. I wasn’t that so.d on them at the start of the year but they have been a power House this year. I reckon they’d rival jacana of 2017.

Coburg by 4/5 goals over Northern
Sun should beat burnside by 60 points
MV over KP

It’s Sunburys to lose. Those not making the finals ought start looking at how they can get so much better next year as the competition will again get better. I. Sure who comes down from div 1 will be planning a short stay in Div 2, and from what I see of the U19’s of those clubs not in the finals they better start recruiting.

Future of the Keilor Park Football Club is bright moving forward. TOP 5 update to the clubs season.

Starting from the top….

  1. We now have upgraded change rooms the equal of any team in the league
  2. We have also purchased the largest digital scoreboard in the league, which will be installed in coming months
  3. We saw the return of our U19 and Mens teams to the field
  4. Our junior program continues to thrive, with many U17’s tasting U19 action already
  5. And to top it off, our womens program now sees us in a Division 1 semi final after only 2 years
Great stuff Keilor Park to rebound through hard work. 👏👏👏

I think this should be acknowledged.

I’m sure it’s the work of a few very hard working committed people who are working to a plan. Well done KP on the year they’ve had.

Awesome effort by those involved but the Brimbank council needs to be questioned. I’ve heard (reliably) that in 2 years time the new re-vamped clubrooms will be demolished in favour of a 5million dollar new pavilion. Awesome for KP but if the case then brimbank council certainly has a few beneficiaries on the books. Time will tell.

I think the new club rooms were done to accommodate the women’s teams they have at KP. Due to having only a certain number of teams they are most likely shared by the men as well. However KP were well overdue for some renovations and the grounds are used by schools, etc due to the large area.

I believe with so many clubs just focussed on junior numbers and having more senior teams that these clubs expect favouritism purely based on numbers however that’s not how it works. The surface at KP is pretty good. It’s a good sized ground with plenty of parking and not in a residential area so maybe Council are looking to invest there. Only downside is it’s very open and can get windy. A pavilion out there would be a great idea..

Wandered over for the second half of CD vs SK after being at PV vs Glenroy across the road. It is most definitely a case of how far Sunbury win by now - whilst it a shame the competition is so one sided, from what I've seen (which admittedly is bits and pieces) they are the only team that are capable of competing in Div1 in 2020.

Their midfield was a cut above, Cuffe is a star & workhorse who would have had 20 touches alone in the second half, the Roos ruckman took the piss both in the ruck putting it down the mids throats and around the ground racking up numerous marks behind play. You would have thought after 5-6 kicks went down his throat Coburg may have looked to not put it in his direction however the pressure on the ball carrier was intense.

After it only being a couple of goals at HT, it would have had to been close to something 20 shots to 5 in the second half & even with the wind Coburg struggled for any meaningful inside 50s. Established players like Quigley & Baddeley are just simply too good for some of the players running around at opposition clubs at this level.

The key thing for their success will be the retention of their older players. There would have to be 8-10 of their list 30+.

I hope Moonee Valley, Burnside and Coburg enjoy the finals experience but no one will get with 12 goals of them.

Spot on with the assessment. They will have to look at youth sooner rather than later to become a solid Div 1 side, but I gotta say well done to them in 2019 so far. It’s theirs to lose. Down right embarrassing If they do, but cannot see it happening.

The advantage they have is having mature bodies in this division mixed in with some youth. The bigger bodies can’t be pushed around with physical pressure. East Sunbury might have been the best overall side in 2018 but lacked a couple of bigger bodies unfortunately necessary in this division. I agree the division is cleaner than say 5 years ago but still need a bit of so called muscle and presence running around. If East Sunbury had a couple last season they “probably” win it as most of though so called thugs (and it’s not many these days as clubs are moving forward with youth and discipline) don’t go near the tougher players with presence.

Just my opinion without naming players or clubs in my post.

I thought all the clubs in the division behaved exceptionally well, and I never saw in any of the “tuff” stuff from any of the clubs and quite frankly nor was it needed. Lots of youth in this division, along with a mix of superanuants. Fairly even comp except for a powerhouse Sunbury and re emerging Keilor Park.

If you’re talking about Saad, he won Rox a flag 😂

1 v 2 at Glenroy
3 v 4 at Greenvale,
Is Glenroy a better ground?
Surely thats not right. Between Windy hill, Coburg, Greenvale and Keilor there should be no reason to have any senior finals at Glenroy. Would be under water after all this rain.

Bissa, Keilor & Coburg have home games on 24th Aug. Windy Hill being used for women’s GF I think.

Hence why they selected Greenvale & Glenroy buddy.

On another subject how much is Glenroy making through canteen sales as they are hosting a lot of finals this season.

Coburg’s ground is in terrible condition. Unless we get some dry conditions they will lucky to host senior finals there.
Move them to Greenvale with the new double story clubrooms and plenty of parking will be best finals venue other than Windy Hill.
Not to mention the giant big screen that the league could use to live stream games and possible show replays.

There is only one single criteria that the EDFL consider for hosting a final, must be fenced so they can charge entry! State of the surface or facilities don't appear to be considered at all. I've played a few Div 1 senior finals at Glenroy in absolute mud pits, must admit the surface has improved at Glenroy from what it was like.

For a VFL ground Coburg does get very heavy.

Greenvale will also host the Senior Thirds Grand Final on Friday, 30th August. Interesting that's it not being playing at Keilor as it has been since the competition started
