Looking at yesterday's result he would want to hope that clubs are not looking to closely at current results. I can't recall that last time Burnside lost by over 100. Was anyone there that can shed some light on the game?

The Broadford job will be very interesting. Hasn’t been announced yet so looks unlikely they’ll go ahead for next year in the BFNL.

Yeh got thrown a furphy 4-6 weeks ago by someone I thought was all over it, coach was to be announced but still hasn't.

Caught up with a Broadford local, family friend and long time contributor to our sporting clubs that is now in and around Melton South Fc yesterday - had nothing to give him as unless there's some out of this world announcement and launch coming soon there is nothing being publicly spoken of on the topic along High Street Broadford.

Sad but as he said "that could be it Doon, how did it get to this"
I had nothing to offer him

Think Burnside were pretty hard hit at the selection table

I see they put a bit of work into Cavka and it didn’t take much for him to blow up. His own team mates were trying to drag him away from doing something cowardly again. CD are a real threat but he is a ticking time bomb, especially come finals time when the intensity lifts. Final 5 is set now and can’t wait to watch Rupo V CD in knockout final. Oh shit that will be another knockout with Cavka involved.

Cavka targeted one of the BH Under 18 kids and when the big bodies arrived went running and was pulled back. It was actually quite funny as a BH player yelled to Cavka that he should be in jail and he went off mouthing not realising he was actually having a go at a cop. A few CD players were shaking their heads at him. It will only be a matter of time before he cracks.

Agree they shouldn’t be forfeiting the seconds. Not my club, just basing off who was in their 1s team.

Heard the same thing from a Ressie player at a game I went too. Ressies Coach didn't want to play with thirds players. I also heard a few of the U18's paying Seniors want to go back to their team which are 2nd and looking good for finals. It would make sense for the club to prioritise a possible flag at this stage of the season.

You will find at most clubs that players playing thirds are not interested in playing reserves on Saturday. Hence why they like thirds on a Friday night.

Whilst I agree about thirds being for Friday night football you hope you could call on some to avoid a forfeit.

What’s going on with Cole Harvey ? A lot of noise about players unhappy, off field seems a mess and someone suggested he might have taken a job for next year in the bush ?

Buyer beware if true, he’s another junior rep/development path coach that’s built his resume up and can spew out the modern TAC lingo. There’s a few out there!

Probably a good move to create some stability. Clubs can't keep turning over coaches each year and most coaches need at least 2 years to see how their plan develops.

Interesting question to be pondered in general…how many years would you give a coach generally, that is before you see some success? Success can mean many things to many people, but for arguements sake, let’s say constant top 2 and at the very least GF?

great question a lot depends on the cattle you start with and how receptive they are to new game plans training routines .
1st year getting systems in place with a lot of lapses 2nd year getting it implemented more often than not and 3rd year if you have the majority of players who know what is what and what id expect of them and a bit of luck with injures or players going on holidays then your in with a decent shot at finals and then its anyone stage

Broadford are in fantasy land if they think they'll be fielding seniors, ressies and under 18s next year.

Yes would have thought 3 yrs especially in the lower grades. My feeling anyway
