EDFL Div 2 discussion 2026

This post should be on Prem page Callmecrazy. Regardless, your EDFL / player knowledge leaves a bit to be desired. Roxy are in Div 2 fyi. Let me help you a bit on who has recruited well.

Prem - Marby Park big winners. Pacco have recruited lots but like Deer Park won’t be able to fit them all in points wise.

Div 1 - this is the hardest one with genuine claims for MV, Avondale, TL and Rupo (who have added very good quality to survive and maybe surprise a few). Tulla has signed 2 guns of Div 1 that will take >50% of their player payments budget!!

Div 2 - no real highlights here, but Glenroy and Westy look stable and sound. Both likely to compete at the pointy end. For mine, East Sunbury take the chocolates so far in continuing to make themselves competitive. Main tip from me is they will not finish bottom in 2026

Stickywicket My typo on Roxy and Glenroy for DIV 2 will both be fitting for credibility to win it. As for my EDFL knowledge it's pretty good and like everyone it's a matter of opinion. The other point this should on Premier feed, it's a feed from someone else. I still feel Pacco will make it work best across Seniors and Reserves.....Depth and coverage is ridiculous.

Fair enough. All entitled to an opinion

Has anyone else heard a rumour that Robbie Gray will pull the boots in for ES? Have they been allowed 50 points again for season 2026?

Why were they unlucky? Finished last by 2 games and about 15%.
Absolutely ridiculed by injuries and still lost 6-7 games by under 20 points with a full side would they have won those and have been relegated who knows
But they are the best team to be relegated to div 2 for a while
Anyway only my opinion

Agree with this. If they can in an experienced midfielder to help guide the kids, they will be right up there.

Early Ladder Predictions

1. Glenroy - Have recruited very well, some premier level players joining from
Greenvale, also only lost 4 games to 3 Rupo through the season.

2. Westmeadows - 2nd best team in it last year, have kept majority of their list again and have added a little… 2 grand finals in a row surely they find a way.

3. Hadfield - Finished the year very strong, if they play the way they did 2nd half of the year they will play finals for sure.

4. Coburg Districts - Have a decent list, and had very strong reserves last year so depth is there

5. Keilor Park - Top line talent is good, will need to add some depth to be competitive again but they did finish top 3 last year.

6. Roxy - lost their best player and haven’t covered that. the drop from Div 1 to Div 2 isn’t as big as people think.

7. Sunbury Kangaroos - they’ve recruited fairly well but coming from a long way back

8. East Sunbury - who knows what they will serve up and how many points they will be allowed

9. Northern Saints - Will win some home games but don’t rate them at all

10. Burnside Heights - Finished at the bottom last year and have lost their captain/best player… looking grim for the bears.

Glenroy’s ground like carpet, best nick I’ve seen it for many many years. Plush pile carpet! On that note where are districts going to play home games this year, apologies if already mentioned but their ground is no where near finished, can’t see it ready for April

They don’t have a home game until May 23 (round 7)

ZingerAbed Great analysis and agree and also agree the Div 2 comp is much stronger and competitive with the top 4 you listed would be just about on par to the top 4 of Div 1. Roxy on paper should play finals but a Westy and Gelnroy grand final would be a match to watch.

Agree that Div 2 is a much stronger division and will be a very competitive year. Actually looking forward to watching a few games this season. But to say that Glenroy, Westy, Hadfield & C.Districts are just about on a par with Oak Park, Avondale Heights, W.Coburg & Craigieburn, cannot agree with you there. Way off the mark.....
