EDFL Division 1 2016

What does Tullamarine have to do to get the recognition they deserve. They finished third last year after just losing to c'burn in the prelim. Most ppl thought they would be relegated in 2015. They have made finals just about every year in the last ten years. Tulla were supposed to finish last and be relegated in 2015.
Does anyone (on here at least) rate them in the top three?.. They smashed Glenroy rd 1 after somehow being massive underdogs? They will finish top 2 IMO.

Shouldn't of been underdogs against glenroy 1st round
Roy's didn't really recruit as good as they think they did, majority were div 3 NFL players...
Tulla I'd put 2nd in the league

I predicted they will make the gf based on what I saw in the pre season... Early crow I know but they were super impressive more so than westmeadows

Top 3 (in no particular order) come finals will be.
- Oak Park
- WestMeadows
- Tullamarine

I like Oak Park as a club and hope they can return to premier one day, but depending on their financial position WestMeadows are best placed to go up with there junior program.

I think 2 tipsters out of 12 picked them in the record against Glenroy. On the EDFL show 1 of the four predictions were that Tullamarine would make the 4 (to finish 4th).

Turbo I don't know how Craigieburn would miss that top 3.

So what if their 2-0? Do you think North are going to end up winning the Premiership, seeing their 4-0?
Where did I say that Craigieburn are going to win the premiership? I just rebuttal your point cause I don't see how a team that is undeafted can have on field problems until beaten.

Craigieburn has problems, they rely heavily on the Cloke's and need to work their clearances.
Silly comment I reckon, all clubs in this division rely on certain players
Tulla couple years ago with Kent and mango
Northern with carusos
Stars with smith
Glenroy with kite
Will argue westy this year with Broadbent
That's why they are gun players as they can win games for you and let's face it, you need some stars in a side if you want to be successful in this division
Maybe abit upset with the weekends result I think as from what I seen cburn were scratchy yet still won comfortably over an overrated hillside team

I can't see oak park being able to switch the ball and run the wings on the bigger grounds such as ds aitkin, highgate and Tulla. Their ground is quite small and is only 2 big kicks from either side and its in the goal square. If teams play man on man quite well I think they are very beatable

Turbo you r kidding yourself with this comment.
CB have the best midfield group in the competition by a country mile lets rattle off a few names. Gordon Heenan Bongetti Davies Young Corouzo Mcerlain plus having the best ruckman in the comp in Page.

Also have kite and glen Robertson up forward who has kicked 2 bags in the first 2 games.

2 games in and your saying they have problems pull your head in.

I wouldn't say the best midfield in the Comp by country mile.
OP with Potter in the ruck which beat Page in first game. Add Pascu, Cronin, smith, rajab, hare, Bryce, lerm & hillsdon. I'm sure they can match craigieburn and even beat them on any day.

my mistake akkaps!

Sorry turbo :)

All good Disco.. On another subject which club in div1 is best positioned to be competitive in premier if they happen to win a premiership. I'm referring to who has the finances and home grown talent to at least compete with the bottom half of premier.
Yes we all would agree Douttas were best positioned to go up from last year but what about for next year. Usually clubs that drop down often can bounce back up but this year is different with Nth Saints totally rebuilding.
It's an interesting one yeah.. As its a huge step from div1 to premier these days as the gap has widen somewhat.
Let's use an example: say in premier at the moment we use Marby and Douttas as 2 teams around the mark and "probably" rated anywhere between 5-7. But they would smash the best div1 side by 20+ goals. So it's a massive gap.
