News down at Glenroy is they are denying Aaron Kites clearance to EDS due to being under contract, and are going to make him sit out the season!!
I suppose you sign a contact for a reason! Wonder if EDS would bother paying for him? Thoughts everyone?

From what I've heard the powers at EDS were going to roster Kite to work every Saturday if he stayed at Glenroy. Cant blame him for leaving.

In any event, regardless of the reasons for guys leaving any particular club, giving each of them a clip for doing so is only serving to make both parties look bad.

The only bloke that needs a clip is Scibberas. He's now left Glenroy and Oak Park on pretty toxic terms, hate for him to bring the same attitude to EDS.

Theory is most sides are equal that make a grand final it all comes down to who is a better coach. The senior coach is the difference between winning and loosing a premiership.

You can even go back to the days when McPherson coached greenvale, they continued to have good sides but only won 2 flags instead of 3-4. He was out coached by mighty Mick and Brodie Holland. It was only when Rock coached them did they fill there potential.

Barnards been with box hill for the last couple of seasons so I'd assume he would have learnt a lot from down there

Just to answer this it's Paul Barnard at Box Hill. I think his footy manager or a similar type role so his not actually coaching.. Same guy who coached Craigieburn. I sure his not involved at EDS as couldn't be doing 2 roles.. I'm not sure where the other Barnard (ex Strathmore) is this days but believe his pretty well respected so probably involved somewhere.

Any real reason Cameron Clokes not playing in a higher grade after a few successful few years? Probably still having nightmares over setanta punching him up at training

If rumours are true and probably are, Cameron has 50,000 good reasons to play a lower grade. The offer I believe was 100k for both which was difficult to match by other clubs. Cant blame them for taking it as its a lot of $$.
Anyway I think we move on as its well known..

I think opposite pal I reckon jensen would be more suited in division 1. He seemed to get carried through the season at footscray in a good team. When the heat was on in the grand final he crumbled.

Can't just judge him on that one mistake he made in the second quarter of the grand final, he clearly is too good for EDFL Div 1! Theres a reason why he played almost every game for Footscray in 2014..he was within a whisker of being rookie listed!

Westy have employed a full time Strength and Conditioning coach who is a professional runner and was involved in the TAC cup for many years. I've heard that this pre season has been bloody tough. They have recruited for more youth and leg speed with a number of guys aged in the 20-24 age bracket. Will definitely have a lot more leg speed than they did last year as this has been there major focus.
Don't think there top 6 will be as good as Craigieburn and EDS but they will be a lot more even across the board with a lot of quality running around in the twos!

Don't think Tulla and Glenroy will drop that far. At this stage I cant see EK not finishing on the bottom. Have they added anyone to last years premiership side ?

What will happen from here? Will Douttas pay out there contracts or look elsewhere? Thoughts?

No doubt the clokes will be a big part of the eagles if they succeed, but lets not forget the other 5 or so quality recruits they have welcomed in, and the quality players that were already there.. The likes of davies, mcerlain, gordon, bennet, fletcher, heenan are guns and will carry alot less of the load than in previous seasons. Sides may get to sucked into only concentrating on the big clokes

I'm Sure they also have Young from Avondale. His a gun could be the best pick up of all of them.

Well past history suggests AFL Vic and/or the EDFL will support Glenroy as they did so with APW against the Gordon boys a few years back

Most clearance get knocked back first time round. Still only early February wait what happens by the begining of March

Interesting observation as not sure if the leagues get to much involved. Usually they end up getting cleared weather clubs like it or not. Contracts should be adhered to IMO but rarely happens. However if there contract has conditions like sign ons for 2 years they should pay a settlement.

In the end if the player wants to go just let them go (as much as its not right and you might not agree) and then decide how to manage it. Let them know you will clear them on good terms and they are always welcome back or give them a piece of your mind and tell them they are not welcome back..
