My spy down at Glenroy informs me that Keegan Shrimpton trained with them Monday night and is staying there this season! Also told me that they have picked up 3 guys from the country leagues that go ok as well! Add these to the other guys they have picked up in Golding, Abbaz, Brown, Vetter, Togni and a few others, they might be very competitive!

Anyone else remember the old keilor night series pre season games?? Really good concept wouldnt mind seeing something similar be introduced again maybe at a club with two ovals have games on each ground simultaneously bbq beers on a warm night ... Could be popular

Any Under 18 teams out there looking for a practice match on the 28th March v Woodend-Heskett (RDFL) our opponent for that day doesn't have u18s, was just seeing if any team would like to play a game, happy to travel or you can play at our ground.

Please Private Message me if you are interested.

Cheers

That seems a bit odd considering he but in for a clearance to Airport West. Would it have mean he signed a contract with them

Maybe Greenvale could run one considering they will have two high quality grounds with light towers in the next couple of years. Could play a round robin over a weekend of preseason. 4 games per ground per day. With the grand final played Sunday night under lights

Ah the good old days. Also used to be a good night series at Melton South a long while back. Problem now is that the EDFL is far superior to other local leagues in"our" region so might be one sided. Also now days, no club wants to play against sides in the same league in case recruits ( that maybe are not signed) are headhunted.
Great idea though. What about playing at Keilor & Keilor Park as grounds are close and both have good lights.
Another problem will be other clubs seeing Keilor ( or wherever it's held) make the revenue.

On the Greenvale option it's just not central IMO. Would be great if Marby had good lights on both grounds as very central and lots of public transport options.

Cheers.

Get a new spy mate

Kevin Klix signed with Doutta Stars, will compliment there forward line really we'll from Deer Park.

Safe to say everyone else playing for second place now if all the clearances go through.. One of the better teams to get relegated in recent years, were very competitive and have added some handy players over the break
Clubs may as well put away there cheque books and save it for next year

IF is the question. Gee they like signing blokes with a bit of controversy around them. Klix owes DP 7k , won't get cleared unless EDS cover it. He tried to go to Hoppers last year and got knocked back. Fun player , shocking attitude though from all reports. Coming off a year where he only played 3 or 4 reserves games will be interesting to see how he goes.

Keegan apparently trained at Glenroy again tonight. EDFL website says his clearance has been denied as well. Contract isnt worth a cracker until they clear him!

Reading some of these posts on EDS and although I agree with most opinions, people like Kade Carey don't lose talent with age. His a very competitive person and would still get a game with any premier club "if fit enough". Could you imagine him in a top side with good midfielders delivering the ball to him on a lead. Good classy full forwards are not easy to find..
The question is his fitness and reason behind a return to footy, as my spies informed me his injury at hoppers was pretty bad..
Good season coming up!!!

The only ones who I believe a good enough to get us in to the top 6 in premier division are the young kids that played so competitively in the second half of last season. Nabbout, Thompson, calvaresi, aitken, day, Meyers, Ntalianis, Hobbs, Laguda, k. Brown, j. Brown.

Along with recruits
Clothier, shylo, Cronin, buttagieg, Anderson, Kyte, Prestia,Klix
. So if successful they should try keep those players and recruit other where they see fit.

Mate, Buttigieg ( if this is Luke ex Marby) is past his best and being a mid would be to slow for premier. Smart and cagey footballer but now owing down.. Not sure where you would play him in premier..

Good discussion though as its a bit quite of late so we need to talk about something.

I was having a chat to the father of a former EDS superstar who said Kade told him he would be lucky to last 5 minutes on the ground because of his injuries

I have also heard this, my mail is he won't play and if he does will only be a handful of games. Kite and Romaldson won't get cleared and those raving about Cronin, Glenroy wanted him out anyway. Prado already walked out as well. No doubt EDS will be in the top 3 at the business end but let's not forget they lost half there side from 2014, so they needed to recruit.

Also just going through clearances and coombes has put in clearance to go to yarra valley league, so looks like another has walked also.

Plenty written about EDS recruiting and it will be interesting to see how they line-up in Round 1 - could be very good side or just a very young, promising side. It would seem that CB and WM, the 2 other teams mentioned in the top 3 aren't or won't have issues in having players cleared to their club.

Hence the question/statement if they all get cleared and some by the sounds of it are going to be tuff or won't even happen!
Cburn have had all their quality recruits cleared
Same for westy apart from a couple hold ups but should be ok
Roy's only cleared hope the second time around, time will tell with all the others that have asked to leave but have been denied

Bring on rd 1
