The amount exactly I am unsure of but I heard it was something eds can't match at the end of the day if players don't wanna play at your club what do you gain out of holding them . If eds can't meet the offer put on the table both boys sit out of football glenroy gain nothing out of that happening and don't cover there losses it makes no sense you would think both parties would be able to work out a fair deal before the season gets underway .

yes i totally agree! But what ive been told by a good source is they signed contracts late last year. So Glenroy didnt go out chasing a Full Forward or Center Half Forward. Then in February they tell the club they want to leave! Now its to late for the club to find decent replacements! I can see where they are coming from wanting something in exchange. These boys have to learn some responsibility IMO.

If they sit out, Glenroy don't have to play against them. I guess that's what they are thinking. Probably different if they were going to premier div or another league.

I really dont think thats Glenroys concern. Kite will miss a lot of games due to reoccurring foot problems. Ronaldson is only young and still learning. More being reimbursed for them leaving at a late stage i think.

It sounds like you don't rate kyte at all and don't feel he will put games together if that's the case why sign him and base your forward line around him ? Ronaldson might be learning and still young but it seems like wallis has the world of confidence in him and it showed on the weekend with a couple of big pack marks early . Anyway I'm sure it will all work itself out either way

Its not that i dont rate Kite. He is a brilliant footballer on his day! I used to love going down to Glenroy and watch him kick a bag! Trouble is these days, he is to hot and cold and get frustrated very easy. Good luck to him. I hope EDS pay what he is worth.

Geez this board has turned into the kite glenroy douttas saga

Plenty of other good players coming and going or club news in div 1 to discuss

Ronaldson is going to play some very good games this year, from the look of it last weekend he is developing nicely. It must shirk Glenroy that it could be at another club.

Having played on Kite a few times, he is still dangerous however his body seems to be failing him of late. If he can get the extra money at Doutta's then he should, as he won't play a full season.

Enough of Kite & Ronaldson. Glenroy came up to my neck of the woods on Saturday to play Mulwala. I tell you now, they have a very quick midfield and have picked up a big bloke from Kiabram who, apparently can mark and kick a ball a mile! (didnt play Saturday) Another big unit is a bloke from Geelong who will help out Dulic in defense. Id like to take the odds that some are offering that they wont play finals!.
Ok. Enough about Glenroy, anyone know how Westmeadows are traveling?

Glenn Grgic commits for 2015. Has looked very sharp in training.

Will be on good coin.. But is only 23 and is more than capable of playing premier if the go up..Where are Craigieburn getting all their $$??
Budget got to be higher than 3 or 4 premier teams. Must be around 275-300k if Clokes are getting 100k.
But if you have the money then you have the right to spend it any way you like..

Craigieburn always have had good $$$ only club in what is now a big suburb... Huge junior program... Used to pull huge crowds not so sure on crowds the last few years when they've been struggling but the clokes will also bring people in this year when the club is up and about.

Will make more in bar sales than what they will be paying the clokes.

Westy played Moama last weekend. I think Moama are in the same league as Mulwala. I got told they won by 11 or 12 goals and were pleased with the hit out. Most of the new guys played minus one or two. Trewin, Callegari and Church all kicked 5. Surprising with all of the gun forwards in the comp that Callegari played forward ? Also heard Aldridge played in the twos and kicked 6 ? Not sure why he was in the twos. Been told that someone other guy who I haven't heard of played at CHB and was best on and that Luke Wilson who played forward last year will also play back this season. So maybe throwing a few guys around to combat some of the big forwards in the league.

Brian Hall deserves a pat on the back, he s pulled the club off the mat since he's been president, as well as being a very successful player in the 80-90's.
As I've also said before the cockroach is very very talented and will be better for having a bit more talent at his disposal this year
Also noticed a couple of old Epping heads doing some recruiting Fletch and Fiddles

An email to the EDFL would surely clear this up?

Eagles v Gisborne tonight at Highgate. 2s at 6pm 1s at 7.45ish.

Can someone please provide the "2 player rule" - Where it can be found? I just went through the "National Player Transfer Regulations" and cannot find such rule. (This can be found through the rules and guidelines on the EDFL site)

Section 3.2 states there are 4 ways to refuse a player from leaving a club.

(a) Is a Contracted Player; and/or
(b) Is indebted to the Club; and/or
(c) Is in possession of Club property (e.g. jumper) that needs to be returned; and/or
(d) Wishes to withdraw their Transfer application. Clubs can only submit this as a reason for refusal where the player has signed the Player Withdrawal of Transfer Form in accordance with Regulation 3.3 below

- National Player Transfer Regulations 2014

As far as I'm concerned. The rule doesn't exists.

EDFL By-Laws - Rule 4A.2 talks about the limit on player transfers.

Have the EDFL rules regarding the 2 player rule. No more than 2 players from 1 club can be transferred to another EDFL club in any one age group. Senior, Reserves & Under 18s are classed as 1 age group. Of coarse if the 2 clubs agree on the transfer it can be done. As for being cleared to another league, A player cannot enter back into the EDFL without the club who originally cleared him permission for a period of 12 months. In other words it stop players from leaving the EDFL & coming straight back to avoid the 2 player rule! God now im tired!! hahaa

With Parkside falling over in the WRFL have any of the EDFL clubs been able to capitalise on this?

Cragieburn very impressive tonight

It was hard not to get a little excited. 5 U18s playing prominent roles plus still fiddling around with the squad looking at options for round 1. Might get a closer idea to that for the Marby game next week.
