Went and watched jacana last weekend and tell you what they looked polished billy Morrison dominated and the big foward number 23 and the league medal winner from two years ago they will be up there this year!!
Mate, you are assuming things. Originally only 2 signed but now appears the other 2 have also lodged clearances. I can tell you that KP just don't have that type of money after a couple of lean years on the field and now back in div2.
I am aware that the guys you are talking about were on around this figure at Hillside but they are not on this type of coin at KP. Think the payments could be partly incentive based.
In closing I don't believe div2 clubs should pay big coin but you do need to recruit the right players. The other thing is most of these players are capable of playing div1 so it's a good pick up for KP which you would agree with as they were pretty good at Hillside.
I have heard they are good blokes in general but have a stigma of being a group and getting paid.
I know your not necessarily potting them but your club is also paying players as all clubs do to compete.

Judging by the "late" inclusions KP Shoukd be very competitive this year.,

PS- Didn't Fab & Sam come 1-2 in Hillside B&F last year in div1. So to say only Fab goes ok is a bit of a silly comment.

Anyway move on now..

This can only be a positive for all footy followers including the club, supporters and the league. Jacana appeared to be struggling in every facet a few years back and now they are upbeat again. Can only be a good thing as the community there must have a footy club.
From what I have heard about Jacana, is the playing and coaching group have really turned around the reputation of the club. Supporters also told to change the culture and push in the right direction..

Turbo mate, you are absolutely delusional if you think these blokes went to KP for less than what they were on at HS. And as for being good blokes, the other three must be better than the other because he's a pretty ordinary bloke.
I can see how this will end, KP have promised more than they can deliver and all 4 will be gone next season.

Weeney, Im not delusional and was just responding to CatNDog, as I know some people who are involved with the club. I was told a couple of things by someone I trust.
1- two players who signed first (known 2) are on less than what they were getting last year. It's match payments plus incentitives which should be the case in div2. Of course they are getting paid as they are pretty handy players in div2.
2- the other 2 players I know are on less as well.

Let's get some perspective here. Hillside didn't wish to re sign these players. I can only assume they thought they were not needed and therefore have replaced them with some good quality players.
If you were to understand how Keilor Park operate I can assure you they are on less money. The club overall is smaller than Hillside.
I also think the early signing of Pasila was instrumental in getting the other 4 across as well as they know some other players.
Why did they sign so late? I only assume they wanted to see what the side was looking like as they wanted to play finals.

We could all assume Fab would probably be the highest paid there, but his a damm good player who should kill em in div2. Sam is also a good midfielder who came second in the hillside B&F in 2014 and was named in the EDFL top 5 in div2 in 2013.

So to answer your questions:
- Keilor Park pay there players each year. They work to a minimum budget as you would expect in div2. I'm sure they will stay for at least 2 years and maybe longer.
-I'm not sure who you are referring to as the good bloke and the ordinary blokes..

What have they done to you or your club?? From what I hear at Hillside they were good for them for a number of years but it was time for change.

Not sure if this correct but I'm not involved in any official capacity down there. Are you talking about Ethan Hope?

I've made some enquires and your mistaken here mate. I think Keilor Park did try and get this player you are referring to, but didn't offer this much. The truth to the story is they offered him a deal and then Glenroy offered him more to convince him to stay. This figure might be what Glenroy are paying him..
If all the rumours are true and Glenroy are losing some players it makes sense they wanted to keep him. I'm not sure what his worth as haven't seen him play but that's the true story.
Maybe check it out first. If someone has told someone the offer was that amount, well that's there issue. Need to be careful as players can play club against club.

I can tell KP wouldn't offer the said player this amount in div2. I know it's a forum for conversation but we need to stick to the facts.

PS: I'm sure the said player is now on more than he got last year. Also if you believe KP offered 450 then Glenroy has convinced him with a bigger offer. Cmon mate that's crazy., but it's possible Glenroy offered him 450 to stay.,

So your saying that the four players went to a lower standard league, to a club not pushing for a flag for less money they were in at previous club when some are at there prime age ?? Seems strange.

Waiting until the last minute to sign because they wanted to make sure the team was going to be ok doesn't seem like a decent thing to be doing to either clubs. Tells me they aren't the best blokes in local footy.

Lastly, the strangest point you make is that Hillside " didn't need " 2 of there best players from the last two seasons. Did they suddenly lose there ability to play football or is there another reason they left ?

I'm not sure why you have an issue with these guys. I think they wanted to play a lower standard with mates without a lot pressure that usually comes with the higher divisions.

Clubs all have budgets so we must assume Hillside looked around to see what options were out there. They got Stocco and Ferraro so we could take a guess and say the money the 4 were getting has gone on these 2 players. That's fair enough. There could be more to it as there is a new coach at Hillside plus maybe Hillside offered reduced payments for this year.

Anyway let's move on..

Tips for this weeks games ?
Mine are
Districts over east sunbury 20 goals
Haddy over jacana 5 goals
Valley over burnside 10+ goals
Roxy over kp under 5 goals

Word on the street is that Jacana, Coburg Districts & Keilor Park have all improved there list. Haddy will definitely be competitive and be top 4. Not much info coming out of Moonee Valley & Roxy Park.
On the newcomers Burnside will improve slightly and from I hear East Sunbury will struggle again but have a long term plan in place..

Good luck to all sides.,

I'd expect roxy to play finals... Had good depth in the 2's last year and 18's played off in the gf

Same could be said about moonee valley's depth and 18's I suppose...

Could be said all div 2 sides have improved on last year meaning standard of the division has risen
