Ok sooooooooooooooooooooo if that's the case what does it make B grade then??????????????
:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown: i say.

You absolute toss bag.

You do realise that A grade EDFL is effectively D grade football or worse when you look at other leagues across the state. By your reasoning that means it is rubbish football and no one should bother with it. Personally I would rather watch a far more equal and competitive "B" grade competition than a one sided "A" grade one.

I don't know why you even bother posting here, after all the only true "A" grade football is the AFL.
Run along now...

mainsbridge never played a game at abers last year, cole played two oer three games and was never fit enough, mongta played a couple of games, Rioli played one game, Lerm played a handful but won the b&f in the twos for the comp, Peterson left after the first 4 rounds to play VFL footy, Wiloughby played a few games was never fit, moran played twos for most of the year and was no good but was a very good fitness coach, so with all those players you have mentioned it does not mean much to abers. Egan will stay he is away at the moment, Shep doesnt train much before Xmas, Keg has been there and looks fit. i would have as much money as you like that abers does not go down to B grade and will finish in the top 6 pushing for top 4.

Bye Douttas if you are gonna quote my club, then at least do your homework properly son:

MANSBRIDGE did not play this year you are correct. Guy's a nutcase and players could not stand him! Word has it that when he played at Keilor, was considered a cancer and they were only to glad to get rid of him to Ballarat.
COLE actually played 3 games but was a real disappointment for the expenditure they layed out for him and the promise of decent performance. MONGTA played 5 matches and then left for family reasons.
RIOLI actually played 4 of 6 matches in the seniors. But your right tho; basically useless and relying on nepotism to get through what hard work can't do for him. LERM actually played 5 of his 17 matches in the ones and not only won the Comp B&F in Reserves, but the club's as well. Must account for something. Well known that Senior coach was not a fan and upshot is that player is currently training at Oak Park after decent coin thrown at him!!
PETERSON in reality left after Round 7 having played in 6 senior games. No probs with him going to Northern Bullants. Quality player - shame Abers couldnt hold on to him.
WILLOUGHBY believe it or not played 9 matches but was away towards the end due to his wife's participation in the Aussie Netball team at the Olympic games in Beijing, China.
MORAN - spot on there, definately not one's material but fitness campaign was his forte and will be missed by the playing group. Have it on good authority from a mole in the hierarchy that no overture was made at the end of the season so basically he had no choice but to field other offers. Got a berth with his old mate Ian Denny at APW. Club newsletter says he leaves with no hard feelings and best wishes!
EGAN arrived back in town on Sunday but my spies tell me has hasn't fronted for training yet, altho his mate Jezza Stephenson already has. Rumour is the Eags is not happy and wants out!!!

Agree with you optimistically that Abers will do OK next year. As a loyal supporter we must have something tangible to hold onto. If lady luck smiles our way and past the two blues at Clifton Park then things may go alright. Here's hoping boys!

Abers making the right moves this year by actually focusing on recruiting players we need which is primarily adding class in the midfield. Van riet will fill that role perfectly. Also Rhys Fitzpatrick training tonight who is another gun midfielder. So we are starting to develop a strong midfield group.

This stuff about Egan is complete fantasy. Egs has been frustrated over the past couple of years because of recurring injuries. But is a loyal abers man now and the only reason hasnt been trainining is because he was in thailand.

On Moran he made it well known he wanted to be in a coaching role. However he didnt apply for the job when it was advertised at the end of last season and instead advised the club he was looking for senior coaching position elsewhere. There are defintely no hard feelings there for either Moran or Abers.

Not going to fall for the early season predictions on abers.

Dropped by Abers training last night and must say numbers a little disappointing? The ones that were there were all kids (great for the future but not good for success in 2009 one would have thought?). Did see Willouby training though, so maybe not gone just yet.
Had a look over your playing list from 08 and as I read it going by the ins and outs posted thus far and from word going around:

Ins: Barham, Van Reit, Fisher
Outs: Mansbridge, Cartwright (retired?), Cole, Mongta, Taylor (may be there now but will he last the season?), Randal Rioli (overweight and next to useless), bigman Aaron Lerm, Moran, Egan (yes he is going), Luke Kinnabugh, Peterson, Willouby (sniffing for other clubs again), others?

Reading between the lines that doesn't look too good on paper... Keeping in mind 08 was not exactly a good season and I would have thought you'd need to keep what you had and built on with 6-8 'quality' additions. 3 horse race for wooden spoon I say- Glenroy, Abers and Avondale who are gaining momentum.

Looks as though Albion have secured Harro as senior coach and Philpott has signed there too, leaving a big hole at Douttas IMO.

Marby on fire to push for a top 2 finish. Funny thing is with rumours of the money they spend on players, they are now getting 'quality' players asking them if they may be interested in there playing services.

B grade clubs be warned, if you are even thinking of winning the 2009 premiership you better have a plan in place (and the money) of what to do to get attacking recruiting the day after you win the premiership or you will really struggle. Don't think Glenroy had a plan in place and time is running out. Get 2-3 'big' names before Christmas (and hope you attract some more after it) or you will be fighting it out for the spoon.

You say Glenroy, Avondale and Abers as early contenders for the B Grade dance. You must be from Doutta as how can you leave them out of this discussion. Philpot gone - had "just" a year last year but was their only player over 6'3 and they are very quiet on the 2009 recruiting front which MAY suggest they haven't got any of note.

Hard ball get are you a complete arse clown??? im very confused at the minute.... how on earth can you have any credibilty when your coming up with stupid comments like the ones above!. We all know the EDFL A grade comp is one of the "Best" in metro footy so why u continue to spread your verbal diarrhea is a concern for me. Wooley has left our shores we dont need another one.

I'm not surprised you are confused as you clearly are not the most intelligent bloke going around.
Yes A grade EDFL is one of the best metro footy leagues going around. I don't doubt that.

However you claim that B grade footy is trash. When in reality A grade EDFL is a form of B grade footy. Actually it is worse than B grade footy with VFL, Eastern and a few others better quality. So in effect your argument is a totally irrational and uneducated one.

If B grade EDFL is useless and crap then your logic suggests that A grade EDFL is the same. If you can not see the correlation then I guess I should give up on the argument because you are incapable of making clear coherent thoughts.

Hardball/arse clown i never once stated that B grade footy was "trash". will just agree to disagree will move on....

Bricksta! aint you from doutta's? surely you know who has left the club? I seriously hope doutta's go well this year after last year so give us something bricksta... who have doutta's replaced for philpot??? and have you signed anyone at all??? The very few times i watched last season your midfield got flogged seemed very slow and sluggish at times and your backline needed some talls. Is this a far assumption?

I have been told that Roxburgh Park have lost alot of players and coaching staff because of them not geeting paid for there services. Word is that Dale Huff assistant coach 2007 walked out of the club with them oweing big money, Players have not been paid for last year including coach Craig Burrows.Players to leave because of payments include Jellal Seilman (young gun) Darren Harris (b and f winner) Joe Vinalli,Ramez Daghar (VFL and best player)Assim and Mohammad Accari,Jason Hammoud and many more to follow. I was also told that they approched several players and coaches this year but word of this has spread through the E.D.F.L and they had to get a coach who has never coached before and his mates from the W.D.F.L. I thought Roxburgh Park was a respectable young club but after hearing this think that they will lose all respect in this league. They need to sort them self out very quickly or they will be glued to the bottom of B grade for years to come.

Welcome young under 18 footballer from Aberfeldie... Good to see you have stepped up from the under age thread. There is no doubt you are very confident after an under 18 premiership and so you should be however senior football is a whole new ball game.
You have gone on about those players from last season, yet what you have missed is providing 'solutions'. The Abers 'seniors' were lucky to squeeze back up to 7th spot, yet with 3 new recruits thus far and a host of players gone (not to mentiion ones you left out from your synopsis- Cartwright whom played on-ball in seniors most or all of the year and is 'just' a player, Luke Kinnaburgh whom by the way struggled to get a game with his dad coaching). So in solutions, I am looking for how they are going to not only improve to have a top 6 finish- which they will definitely need to do, but how are they going to stave off struggling?
Under 18 players coming up- how many of these will be ready-made top 10 players this season? How many will even get regular senior games? Solutions, not why nots or maybes.
Also, why would they improve after sacking a tired old war horse or dinosaur coach and replacing him with a guy that admittedly played senior AFL football for 100 games yet if he couldn't motivate himself to lose weight and play footy, how is he going to motivate a club? He can't communicate to save himself. Will this not be a massive factor in how your club goes this season?
Off topic but what has happened to Gaylard, will he jump back on board when the dust settles?
As for your monopoly money boy, keep it and but Mayfair.

I've been reading your rot for awhile now Footy Nut and it really isn't worth responding. But I just thought I should clarify something:

Luke Kinnaburgh played every senior game at Abers before he left for Tulla under Jamie Madigan and Harro and every senior game since returning except for this year due to a long term knee injury.

He wasn't supposed to play this year after Rnd 10 from doctors orders but returned to play some games with his brother toward the end of the year.

In 2007 and previous he was one of Abers most consistent performers and a very accomplished backman. Fair enough you can try and stir up stuff about other clubs but if your going to pot individuals try to have your facts straight.

All positive at Abers:)

All I can say is I wish Douttas well in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

i think they have picked u a few though, miles krakour( i think son of jim) has been training down there and brought a few across

So how can they afford Miles Krakour if they have not paid anyone from Last year? What is the son of Jim Krakour going to do if 80% of there team leaves from last year? He might be able to kick it to himself. I sure sure all the blokes down there are happy about cash being thrown at Krakour and co and they have been given nothing. Should finish bottom two this year.

Kanga, You need to be set straight. Harris and Vernali have retired. Jellal is a good young fella, but knows that he didn't deliver his end of the bargain on his contract. Hough just likes the sound of his own voice and blowing his own trumpet. If he was under oath to tell the true story, no doubt it would be different. Buzz said a long before the end of the year that he would not be continuing coaching next season due to family commitments and has been paid and in fact has already been down to watch training. Jason Hammoud has also been down and if he does not play at Roxy next season it will be due to work and perhaps bigger opportunities. Rama Dagher was always a one year proposition as his plan was always to go to Port in 09. There have been a lot of new heads at training so far, from Spotswood, Scoresby and other EFL and WRFL clubs, who have commited for next season. As the saying goes pal, only believe half of what you read and even less of what you hear. Although it may be a good thing if people aren't expecting much, may just catch them unaware.

Who's down there from Spotswood???

Sirentime as I said before I thought Roxburgh Park was a respectable club and wish them well, I am only telling you what I hear and I know from a very source that Craig Burrows has not even been paid half of what he is owed over his whole time at the magpies, the players going down to "watch" training are only going to try and collect the money that is owed to them and just becasue players are retiring does not mean you just dont pay them. There is no other club in the E.D.F.L that has not paid there players or coaches for that matter. As a supporter siren I am sure you think everything is rosey but I know a few blokes from down there and they are saying they have not been paid so who is telling the truth half a dozen blokes or you? Why would all these guys say they have not been paid if they have? Dont have anything personal against your club mate but I think that it is low for a club not to pay up and is a worry as I said as it is the only club I have heard of in the E.D.F.L not to have paid up.

i said that the B grade TALK was boring me silly, not that its rubbish footy that was your words sh-t lips.
having been involved in both grades i know were i would rather play/watch.
if you like to watch equal games head down early on a sunday morning for the under 10's, 1 goal 1 to 3 points is about average.
now pi-s off back to your flea infested provence.

It's school holidays for some year 10 and 11's isn't it...

Irrelevant of your words, the fat remains that A grade footy is a form of B grade footy. Which means that it is irrational to disregard it as you do. Resulting to insults much like illbethere, shows that you have no solid argument. It is a childish was to respond to something you know is right but you just can't admit it.

The grade is only relevant within the actual league!! A grade EDFL is the premier level in the area. To try and say it is D or D2 etc grade because there is AFL VFL etc is not relevant. "A form of B grade footy' what does that even mean?? Not defending people who don't rate the B grade comp just don't believe that you can cross compare leagues.

"A form of B grade footy" means exactly that. In the grand scheme of things it is a form of B grade footy. I think you can cross compare leagues nowadays especially since money is taking over. players are no longer tied to a league as much as they used to be.

Sorry Luke. you have set the record straight for me.

I'm not Luke mate, just didn't like the garbage you were writing.

Anyway, I'm happy to say that Abers have signed another gun midfielder and by all reports a fantastic bloke - very good mates with McKee, Murray, Cartwright etc. If he's anything like those blokes its great news for Abers!

Also Footy Nut, if Egan is leaving why would he turn up to training? Very strange:)

Hang on you say resulting to insults, didn't you call me a toss bag???
fight fire with fire i do.

lf we had 2 threads for senior edfl footy, one for A GRADE and one for b grade then i wouldn't have read something relating to the lower grade sh-t i mean division 2 that i have no interest in, not asking tooooo much i think.

Please pick up some talls and ball magnets douttas or maybe the B grade thread will be on the agenda for billyboy.

Spot on big boy!

By the way - have you heard the real connection between the Bulldogs and the "Twins"

A Former Team Mate now involved with North!

They are only keen to talk to Nth Heildeberg apparently, i may be wrong and it would be bad news for the comp if they moved on but times change and given the quality of player they are they will always get offers from outside and perhaps this time they are deciding on a move.

Plenty of water to pass between now and April
