Barnard is not playing with anyone. He is head coach at Craigieburn with David Calthorpe as assistant. Both will not be playing. There are two other ex AFL players that are playing, being Christou and Lekkas along with Barry Brooks who has decided to stay on at Craigieburn. (Third year - obviously Craigieburn are not that bad a club to be a member of if they can hang on to a player of that calibre.) These players will bring experience to the young Craigieburn side and help them retain a spot in A Grade. Have also heard that a young gun from Southport/Broadbeach FCs, Qld, (Dane Eaton) will be playing with them this year. Playing home games at Highgate Res has to be a bonus for them - quality ground. All the best for this season!!!

playing at highgate wont help them, they played pre season games there last year, the big open spaces didnt help them really struggled, wont go anywhere with the people that run the club.

It fascinates me why every one is so concerned on what Barnard is being paid, do we care what he earns, do we care what McPherson, Maguane and the other higher profile coaches are earning. What ever they get paid it is drawing a higher quality personel to the EDFL which surely makes the league a greater competition, which in turn as by the players coming to the league is going to make it enjoyable and a quality of football not seen in this league

avondale dominated the game against airport west 72 point win shows positive signs with still 4 1sts players to return the the starting 21. chris johnson was dominint to strong for any player along with rhys magin racked up disposils non stop. balraj singh was a huge flop had about 1 kick all day
Wake up to yourself goose, just love how you like to pot a name player. Jealousy is a very big sign of a weak individual. For the record he kicked 3 goals and give 2 or 3 off, after working nite shift all nite and was going on a holiday so hardly his number 1 priority. We also had a number of players missing and no ruckmen, early in the last quarter it was 4 goals difference, from my point of view we gave the game a fair crack but lacked a little with our skills. I actually thought you would have been better than that. Sutcliffe was your best player although agree magin and johnson were also very good. You will need to improve alot on that effort to be up challenging for the finals or at least improving on last year.
I was also at this game and i must have been watching another game as 1.Sutcliffe was no where near bog 2.Someone brought up this Singh, who didnt kick 3 goals or setup another 3 - Looked very slow and average! 3. Magin looked very good - Avondale will have to do a lot of work and gel extremely well to get close to last yrs top 4 side. Airport West looked like a mid table side at best.

Did you take singh's stats??? I know he set up at least two coz he gave them to me and i can clearly remember him kicking 3 i saw with my own eye's...so on that your wrong i was right next to him.
As for him being slow that's your opinion and as i said your entitled to that so your right...at least in your own mind!
I'm a straight shooter buddy, if the big fellow had have played shit i would have said so, but if i think differently as a mate i will stick up defend what ever you want to call it...but that's just me.
Ask our coach what he thought of his game. He will be the first to tell you he had a shit year last year but he is not Robinson crusoe there either. His over all record is amazing and i would imagine you would be envious, i know one thing any decent footballer wouldn't get on here bagging him or others they do it because they feel insecure about their own achievments. Talk about the game but leave the individual shit out of it. I know about 15 plus other blokes on my team wish they had of played as well as singhy!!

Balraj is a big guy. he will come back bigger and stronger.
i wandered on down to Avondale on sunday to get a glimpse of the eagles as there are some raps surronding them and we have to play against them this year and i thought i would share my thoughts.
Avondale have improved from last year from what i saw, they had some big and agile guys, johnson was very strong, sutcliffe burned in the first half and from what i seen, was rested quite a bit after that, if magin was number 11 then he seemed very classy and could find it a bit, but they still seem a little bit behind the top 4 in a grade, but should do enough to cement their spot in a grade.
As for Airport west, not having a ruckmen stood out on the day, but they have one who didnt play even though he will have a big load to carry, there skill level was scrappy which made it hard for rock07 and aussiefan, but i'm sure that will improve in the next couple of weeks with more practise games coming up. anyone who thinks the 2 big guys wont be a handful are kidding themselves, there big mobile units who can take a grab so teams will need some handy defenders.(even though after Rock07 first marking attempt would of made funny home videos, he moved well for 36).
There backline was pretty solid considering the ball came down often and pretty quick.
P.S Rock07, it was never 4 goals during the last quarter, but it did blow out late to make it look worse than what it was
Im sure roota06 and others would be envious of Singhs Finals record
Easy on the 36, i'm a young buck of 35...and yes i did drop a sitter early but it wasn't that funny, i think after we got a goal early in the last it made the difference 4 goals may have been 5 but yes it did blow out after that.

agreed fully. avondale will be close to the top 4 but will struggle to break in to it. number 11 is nick grant also a very talented lad rhys magin was number 17 but just consider heights had 3 under 18s playing and many reserve players that would not play in the starting 21 usually we were missing 4-5 quality firsts players and sutcliffe who had a brilliant 1st half was rested most of the second half as there was no need to risk him also at half time we lost one of our new recruits who is very talented to back soreness and also our captain from last year fab mastro
p.s no chance balraj kicked 3 rock ur kidding urself
why do we even bother talking about airport west??? yes they might have a good forward line, they might kick 20 goals a game BUT they will concede 30!!!! no defenders what so ever. with the forward line pacco has they will tear them to shreds
