Strathmore will be very hard to beat next season then I would think. That's the only thing that they lacked this year, a big target up forward who can kick big bags of goals.Insider said:Tim Harvey is his name and he is a very, very good footballer. Will kick a minimum of 60 goals.
Travvy43 said:Agree that they will be hard to beat. Lindsay and oneal going there from Port Colts in the WRFL will help the cause too.
any more news on John Tate, there was a bit going around that he could line up with Strathmore next year, i also would not be surprised if he has been approached by West Preston in the DVFL.

i work with his best mate, and he was telling me.
Hard Ball Get said:Most of the above posts prove exactly what is wrong with local footy these days. Money is starting to kiil off struggling clubs and excessive spending is to the detriment of the league.
My North said:How about this. The Greenvale cricket club has loaned the Greenvale Football Clun money due to the sponors of the Football club not coming up with the money![]()
Believe it or not.
Hard Ball Get said:The trouble for Strathmore will come when Hille decides to move on. He has apparantly pretty much opened his books to them. When they loose him they will loose a large sourse or revenue for player payments and therefor a few quality players.
Again back to my point, money is hurting the competition not benefiting it.
Aussie_dude said:The greenvale cricket club just put down a $40,000 turf wicket which will see them broke for a number of years. They have no money to lend, so you are mistakin. Also my sources tell me all sponser were paid up. It will be marbo park in a black hole next year when glenn allison leaves with another prelim final loss and a string of bad debts crippling the pathetic club for years to come. Say what you like about clubs such as greenvale, keilor and abers but at least they pay their players unlike marbo, strath, oak park, pascoe vale etc.
bomber5 said:Think you should get your facts right before opening your big mouth Aussie Dude. How would you possibly know that clubs like Strathmore and Maribyrnong Park aren't paying their players. Unless you play for either of them, you don't know jack sh*t
Bombers right about you Aussie, you should get your facts right, can you name a Marby player that is owed anything.Aussie_dude said:mate your a ********er. there were players at strathmore that were unpaid as of december.

At this stage it looks good for Marby, they have maintained the players from last season and it could be enhanced with a couple of very good recruits, nothing is confirmed yet but there has been a couple of good prospects on the track.Hard Ball Get said:Have Marby lost or recruited any names for next sesason?
There has been a lot of talk in B grade about Airport West and West Coburg and we have almost forgotten how much Marby improved last year.
Marby did honour all their commitments in those years, and I might add the club has never been broke, sailing close to the wind maybe but never broke and my contacts tell me that they are very strong financially at the moment.Aussie_dude said:i was more refering to the years of 1999-2002 when the club was broke, players were paid little or not at all. The debt at marbo park during those years huge. Also at pacco in 2001 there may have been a small turkish rover that wasnt paid.
