Went past Jacana tonight and they have been successful in their bid to water their ground. From Midnight to 8AM on alternate days the ground can be watered.
How is Jacana looking lads under the tuition of Gagsy? Any word on whether his brother Jim may pull em on and help out???

Read in todays Shepparton News that former Westmeadows and Hadfield player Jason Carton is coaching Avenel in the KDFL, can anyone shed some light on him, where does he play and who could be the several players he's tipped to bringing?
Guess not

Carton confirmed as Swans' coach

Shepparton News

Kyabram District Football League struggler Avenel has turned to football journeyman Jason Carton to fill its coaching position.

Carton, 30, was confirmed as the Swans' coach earlier last week, replacing club legend Peter Thorpe.

It will be the midfielder's first senior coaching role in a lengthy playing career, which has included stints at Essendon league clubs Westmeadows and Hadfield, Balranald, and Natimuk last year where he finished top five in the Horsham league medal.

"I enjoy country football and the facilities," Carton said following his appointment.

"We have a good young list, especially with the juniors winning the last two premierships."

Carton isn't fazed by his late appointment, which will see the Swans, who last tasted finals action in 2004, start behind many of their rivals.

"We start training on Monday night," Carton said.

"I know a lot of the young blokes have been keeping pretty fit."

Swans president Martin White said Carton impressed during the interview process.

"He impressed not only me, but also the senior playing group," White said.

"The feeling around the club is fantastic.

"He is bringing some players with him and we hope to unveil some recruits in the next couple of weeks."

yep, back home in the edfl, had a great time in the north central and anybody looking for a change & some extra coin have a go in the bush.

Had an opportunity to head up to Boort about four years ago with a mate, both pretty keen until work made it tough......no doubt would have enjoyed it though!!!

Who you back playin for?
