Anyone know anything about Craigieburn this year? We (Sunshine) are playing them in a practice match this Sunday at home... will they be a good test? Any information? Thanks.
they are *******s mate u should smash em

Word has it momentum is growing at Greenvale and they are growing more confident of taking care of Strathmore this year with the players they have picked up it shouldnt be a problem.Heard Strathmore were approached by DVFL club Heidelberg for a praccy match but declined because H'berg would be to strong so close to edfl rnd 1 (thats the rumour anyway) has anyone else heard that one could it be true?

Nah people probably havent heard that because its bullshi t buddy. word is means nothing buddy until the real thing should be a good game. H'berg are from a different league starting at a different date why would strathmore risk their players for round 1 for a praccy ?

Same time last year we had the constant predictions of the end of civilization because of Strathmore recruiting players. Greenvale does the same with extras and its just good recruiting. Wheres the whinging about the money these blokes get? Wheres the geniuses telling us the club will be in B Grade in a couple of years? What about defending all those "home growns" who are missing out because of the mercinaries? Just proves that last year the critics were playing the man not the ball.

have some good points there. at the end of the day everyone wants to be where strathmore have been the last 2 years, but clubs have different ways of doing it. some work and some dont. people have a go at strathmore as the majority of non strathmore followers hate them with a passion. this could have something to do with strathmore supporters thinking there golden side(no disrespect, they are a seriously quality unit) cant be touched by anyone else, so people live to prove them wrong.(hopelessly unsuccessful the last 2 years).
as for me, there been my arch enemy for my entire senior life and would love to help burst there bubble, but until its done, will just have to give credit where its due. hille has invested his time and money into the club and got rewarded for it.
will stop now as this is starting to upset me.

Funny, Strathmore win the 2006 premiership and are actually having a winge about people talking about how much money they spent. They may or May not spend the same money this year who gives a f##k enjoy it.
All your prized recruits surely don't just come for the cash surely they must enjoy the surroundings of the club as well?? (I hope).
If Greenvale, Douttas and Abers hapenn to recruit well dont go looking for people to bag them about the money enjoy the healthy rivalry that is making the EDFL such a strong comp.Don't look behind just keep moving forward or you may get caught up with.
Anyway it's not so much Srathmores money people worry about it"s the arrogance of SOME fo the people on the band wagon.:thumbsu:

Good work champ keep it coming :) Geez you make me laugh "and extras" Its good when blokes like Eric (who has been a listed G'vale player for2 yrs) brings his mates down. I know its hard to cop but these guys are 22 yrs old and "super" is the last thing on their mind. All his mates combined probably equal about as half much as you shelled out for Harvey and about a third you shelled out for Quinn. Add to the fact that you only have to listen to Tim's mates (eg Bernards boys) to know that these two would have been one season wonders for the mores (like so many others) but for the extra dollars keeping them their for season 2.

been watching d.s train and in there pracy match, i think they'll struggle againt strath and g.v. they're lost 5 of there starting back 6. adam swzak (no idea how to spell his name), st albans, simon elsum, retired, ryan moore, season knee, ryan eswards, o.s, and jesse uren, o.s.
and as far as i can see have only picked up 2 backmen, luke wilson from g.v and ben davidson from the geelong league.

plenty of 'Strathmore people' have left because of the above mentioned probs
one a recent best clubman and one in his prime has quit footy altogether after being 'too honest' before last years finals
its great that SM have won back to back flags
but they have sold their sole for it. no doubt

Just bought all his "mates" down. Please. GV recruited players. Good luck to them. Don't insult with the love of the club party line. As for what other get paid, dream on.

Players leave for many reasons. Every club loses players every year and Strathmore is no different. Most leave because they are concerned about "themselves" not the club. If they can't get a game they come up with all sorts of reasons why the club has treated them badly. Thats footy.
And who was the player who quit all together. Only one I know is playing ammos after getting a new job in the deal.

I dont think you will smash them mate but you should beat them.

Where are you playing them?

You can get injured playing anybody mate. The league and the date they start have nothing to do with whether or not you get injuried. If this was the case, you would never play praccy matches.

It would be a cracker to watch all the same.

yeh it would be a cracker but wat i was getting at buddy was if the league that H'Berg are in starts later than the edfl then it would be easier for them to play. if they were a month out from the start of the year then of course they would want to play but if it was a week before like for strathmore then obviously they would not want to risk it. thats all i was getting at buddy

Ruskie, I'm a Strathmore First's Player and I get a senior game when I'm in form, injury free and training the house down. Players come and go every year from every club for all sorts of reasons. The ones that have sold their souls are the players who have whinged and complained who do so to cover their deficiencies. I'm still there busting myself to be part of hopefully a historic Three Peat with my team mates. Keep your Chin Up and stay focused.
