It will work something like this:
Each team will have 40 points to play with.
Ex AFL player 50+ games = 6 points
Ex AFL player 50- games = 5 points
Ex senior VFL player (player must be in the system over the last 4 years) = 4 points
Ex VFL Reserves/TAC footballer (as above) = 3 points
Ex senior footballer from Victorias main leagues leagues (GV,Eastern,O&M,Ballarat,Northern,WRFL,Geelong,Hampden,Mornington,West Gippsland) = 2 points
Home grown footballer or footballer been at club 3 years or longer = 1 point
Each footballer will dowgrade 1 point for every year they are at the club.
This is preety much how it works at the other leagues around Victoria, the system is flawed and really does bring the standard of the league down. It is supposed to reward loyalty but I fear that clubs will now offer much higher $$ to the best ex AFL/VFL footballers to get them before others do, could really do more bad than good.
