I read on the other EDFL forum that Tyson Lane MAY BE the newly appointed coach at Keilor for 2008??

Any thoughts??

Haven't heard his name mentioned around the traps the last few years after a stint at Abers......where has he been playing?

Keilor coach will be named on Wednesday. Can almost be certain that it will not be Tyson Lane, but will be someone with AFL playing/coaching experience.

heard it could be john barnes or mick mcgaune but wil find out thursday night anyway
John Barnes has been installed as one of the assistant coaches over at the Western Bulldogs. I highly doubt they will allow him the latitude to coach a Local EDFL side as well.

Mick McGuane commands big dollars as a coach(he was on over $50,000 at Balwyn in 2007), can Keilor afford him?

Big difference b/w those 2.... Barnes would be a great pick up for the club, but McGuane is widely regarded as one of, if not, the best local footy coach going around and comes with a hefty price tag!! Maybe that's why Keilor are losing a few, can't afford to pay em'????

There is no doubting McGuane would be a good coach at this level but is he a good enough to coach two clubs in rival comps at the same time??

He has also been linked to Port Colts in the WRFL

geez sydenham hillside will have to do a lot of recruiting to even get anywhere near the finals let alone be good enough for promotion.....haven`t heard a thing from them. With all the money in that area sydenham could be a very strong club

No doubt due to the area Sydenham will push at some stage.

LOL:D DogSquad, l wish l could share your opinion but l detect a bit of tongue in cheek about the Sharks.
Having said that, we have signed a couple of handy players and are very close with another 4 but you never know with these things. Sydenham will become a stronger club in the coming years but not just yet.....:thumbsu:
