What's this Campbell from the SANFL like Aberderro?

Will he be as good as Quinn.

Take Quinn from the Creek and boy it will stink

Good too see that yuve got Cup Day to look forward to next year

Sydneys theme song - good in 2006 - not 2008

So having signed a contract means nothing anymore? The impression is there are quite a number of players who are signing to clubs and then moving to another (the Flavel issue from last year where he signed at East Keilor and then left for West Coburg). Does the EDFL have any stance on this?
Contracts don't actually take effect until a player is registered to a club. Once registered to the club they are binding.

Spot on.

Dean Rioli and Christian Gaylard are assistant coaches.

Neither are playing although big Deano has had a cleanout on the knee a couple of months back and if Abers get on a role you never know.

Also, Justin Moran is our fitness coach and assistant coach. Did a super job pre Xmas and has got plenty out of the group so far.

Brian Pound is the reserves coach.

This is probably the most support a senior coach at Abers has had for some time which should definately help.

Going back over the years - Loafy, Rocky and probably even Harro didn't have as much support.

All positive no matter which way you look at it.

In other news - Matty Duggan from the Bullants is on board - a great pick up. He had an injury interupted season last year after playing a handful of games in the seniors and is keen for a big year.

More big news in the coming weeks but some of the holes from last year have definately been filled.

McKee, Runna, Herman, Carti, Eags, Shep, Donza, Norda, El Houli, Mongta, Randall, Wortho, Willo and Disco all firing over the break and keen for a massive 2008.
How is young Patrick Jess going down at Abers?? Great running half back flanker with one nut.

Can anyone confirm that Sam Tankard has left D.S to play at Moonee Valley?
If so D.S are really struggling, does anyone know who they've picked up? it seems like no one so far, could be early favs for b grade!

Well can you confirm? Where did you hear that, at the junction tabaret? Or maybe it was at the tram stop outside the Kensington housing commision blocks? Get back in your box......

I hear on the rumour file that Keilor gun recruit "Markham Johnson" is a tall hack that could only get a game for Werribee Magoos.

Great pick-up Keilor; lose 15 good home grown players and pick up hacks like Johnson and Dalton.

Could Keilor really get relegated next year?

Geez Sammy T is going t be a busy boy on saturdays this winter with playing at Douttas,Monee Valley and coaching the Sharks ;) and as to who Douttas have picked up well they have picked up a few and should be fairly competitive, they wont be world beaters but will improve on last years season.

I wouldnt think that they would be going to B Grade but more around the middle of the road and maybe higher,ya never know ;)

Final 4 - GV, SM, AH, DS. All have had losses but have picked up very nicely.

Who are Douttas recruits apart from Clinton King and John Barnes?
there was a rumour about some Port Melbourne players but that has
gone very quiet.

Is there any news yet on where Jimmy Hollow is playing?

If jimmy plays this year it will be at Doutta Stars.Coaching staff are playing their cards very close to their chest.......learn a lesson last year and won't say who they are talking too,but take it from me they should be around the top 5.Has anyone see Liam Turner.......wont be playing at Westy this year he sign the new contact last year for Doutta Stars......so he either stand out of football for 1 year or comes back and plays in the 2nds.

Welcome to the anti Keilor bandwagon Highlighter. Pity you could not be more objective about Johnson. Yes he did play magoos at Werribee. Remember, they are an aligned club which does make it harder to get a senior spot.
Compare that with some of the other EDFL “stars”. I will give you one example, Bloomfield, coming back to Greenvale. Played with a non-aligned club and could not get a senior game. There are a few more at Greenvale and at M/Park. Look at a few of the new signings at M/Park, getting paid mega bucks, tried out for VFL teams, but could not even make their list to play in the magoos. Few other high profile players at other clubs in the same boat. Work out who they are.
You bag him for being “only” a magoos player, yet it is equal to or a lot better than some of the existing EDFL players.
The other bit of bad news is, Keilor will not be any where near relegation, you may even have to suffer watching them play in the finals again.
