Welcome to the anti Keilor bandwagon Highlighter. Pity you could not be more objective about Johnson. Yes he did play magoos at Werribee. Remember, they are an aligned club which does make it harder to get a senior spot.
Compare that with some of the other EDFL “stars”. I will give you one example, Bloomfield, coming back to Greenvale. Played with a non-aligned club and could not get a senior game. There are a few more at Greenvale and at M/Park. Look at a few of the new signings at M/Park, getting paid mega bucks, tried out for VFL teams, but could not even make their list to play in the magoos. Few other high profile players at other clubs in the same boat. Work out who they are.
You bag him for being “only” a magoos player, yet it is equal to or a lot better than some of the existing EDFL players.
The other bit of bad news is, Keilor will not be any where near relegation, you may even have to suffer watching them play in the finals again.

its goin to be a new experience for keilor when clearences start becuse theve never seen more than 2 clearences leaving the club in one year

Anyone interested in a change of lifestyle which includes playing for the Zillmere Eagles in the State League competition (AFLQ) please contact me privately.

The club has a terrific history and are a young club on the rise after playing in the 2006 AFLQ Grand Final and last season winning the Reserve Grade Premiership. One of the top 5 clubs Australia Wide for players drafted.

Club has been involved in some off field issues which have now been resolved but have found ourselves slow out of the blocks from a recruiting point of view. The club is seeking recruits who feel they have something to offer at this level and would like to take the oppurtunity to live in QLD and play in the AFLQ.

Can we get off the Marbi bandwagon already. Have picked up not doubt but will still have at least 7-10 players that have been playing B Grade for the past 5 years and will take time to adjust to A grade as standard is vastly different.

General Blastoff could you name some of these recruits at D.S cause at the moment i think Marby would have there measure with all there recruits.
Also does anyone know of any practice matches coming up?

Greenvale certainly look the stand out, they were at least a 6 goal better side than anyone else last year and seem to be the only side that has significantly increased the quality on there list and from what i can tell havent lost anything.

Strathmore dont seem to have picked up anyone besides young Horne but have lost arguably there best player in Quinn, they were too small to match it with Greenvale last year can only see them getting further and further away.

Marby are a little unknown, there side is full of ex class players who have gone to Marby last year because they couldnt be as.sed putting in 100% and wanted to run around for a little bit of cash on a saturday, Cant see this attitud of players changing straight now they are in A grade. Blokes like Garbutt, Price, Powell etc etc are simply too slow and not good enough for A grade anymore, Laverde is a great pick up (I rated him best in comp last year) Rabee will obviously add a lot of heart into the side, Wichello & Towner are nothing more than your stock standard player. Marby will be competetive but on paper are not even on the same page as Greenvale.

Craigieburn is mihgt tip for 4th who will build on solid list with a few ex players coming home and a few new recruits and dont seem to have lost anything, always play with heart and hard to beat at home.

Doutta simply cant be as bad as last year, any side with Kade Carey in it is going to be competetive the loss of Laverde will hurt but hopefully will be countered by less injuries, more disicpline and Jimmy Hollow fit all year.

Avondale havent heard much from them but had a good spine, midfield is up there with the best but just no depth and any injury to key players will hurt too much for them be a contender.

Keilor will win enough games to keep them out of relegation trouble but never in the hunt for finals, that many losses just hurts too deeply doesnt matter what recruits they bring in from here, might be a good year to start developing some of the youngsters from the past few u/18 premierships.

The bottom 3 Oak Park, Abers & West Coburg i think are a raffle, West Coburg will prob win enough games at home to keep them safe from relegation but the loss of Rabee is irreplaceable he was the heart and sole of the club last year, Abers only seem to have picked up players from the side that was a clear bottom last year so cant see them helping and Oak Park havent heard anything from them, I didnt see much of them last year but from all reports got everything they could out of there lists. It could be either of these 3 to go down but if I had to put my hard earned on it Aberfeldie.

Sorry just dont know enough about the B Grade sides to make any educated presumtion, from the little i saw of B grade last year and without knowing much about whos picked up and lost players, I would say this years B Grade will be the most competetive in recent history with no stand out side like in past years. I will pick Paco, Tulla, Westmeadows, Airport West & Glenroy to play finals Paco to win it. Roxy might be the smokey.

Word about town is that Abefeldie has made a BIG signing. Not sure how he will go on field but its fair to say the canteen staff will have their work cut out down at Clifton Park this year.

I think the General might be pulling our legs here - the word around the local Pubs is that Doutta are struggling, hence the need to entice John Barnes out of retirement.
Wait and see my friend..........time will tell. They all said that when they make the Grand final couple of years ago, brave man to back against them.As for john,we all know how hard it is to get a big man.they all want BIG dollars,so John will be a help for the club as he is playing next to 0.Doutta Stars wont pay big dollars no more.We want to be around for the future.....not like some clubs.
