I do not think money is an issue at Strathmore.
Junior membership is $250 per player!

TC heard a disturbing rumour that the current senior list phone numbers were supplied to certain WRFL clubs by a contracted player still on the list at the KFC for 08. Has he been diciplined or have any actions been taken against him ?

Don't know that the Junior Mums & Dads would be happy if their hard earned was found to be lining the pockets of the blow ins at Lebanon Park.
A little of that money would go along way to fixing the tip of a visitors room that the kiddies from visiting teams have to use every weekend.

Pretty sure Craigeburn got rolled......Not saying much if they had close to a full strength side. moama had their Ruckman out and a few other handy types. they have recruited well, but still finished close to bottom last year.

The Ovens & Murray comp is much stronger than the Murray comp.
Albury just missed the finals last year in the O&M. Moama finished 2nd last in the Murray Comp.
Abers played Albury 2 weeks ago - Abers had 15 potential senior players not play and only got rolled by 6 goals.
Albury fielded a 42 man side for the 6 qtrs and Abers fielded just 24.
You would have thought Albury should have won by 25+ goals given how both teams finished up last year. Albury just missed finals, Abers finished 2nd last.

Country footy can be overrated at times. It is still a great standard but I'd be confident that a rep EDFL side would comfortably account for both the O&M and MFL.
Haha didn't think it would take long. I dont rate the MFL much at all, rate the GV tho. Just remembered a couple of boys saying that they played C'Burn on the weekend and thought I'd stir you boys up.
I'm having a run around in the EDFL (Divvy 2 mind you) for the first time this year, so should be interesting to see where it rates....

on another note i was speaking to some of my friends at bundoora over the weekend who indicated that matty pillios is taking his ch31 show over to the northern football league for this season and will be some sort of media guru there. anyone else heard this rumour?

I told you all the Abers will be the real deal this season,
With J.Moran at the fitness helm there can only be good things to come of this.
Justin is a fitness freak, it will be interesting who he brings with him to the club, as he used to play at Coburg.

Surely the league won't let the footy show "ED Knows Football" die in the ass?
The comp would be going backwards if we only had the radio station to keep up to date with all the information.
The show is good for players both open age and kids at all EDFL clubs who love to watch it as well as supporters and families.
Looks like Matty Pillios is going to be poached by the NFL to pump up their league and we could be left wondering.

No need to jump in and promote yourself so quickly Matty , next time try to wait alittle bit longer as i am sure one of your cronies will post some flattering comments. Let it go to wherever it wants to i say.
Very personal questions there, but I think there is reason behind these. I have struggled with injury the past couple of years, playing about 4 games in total last year. With work I was also only able to train once a week.
Those two factors more than anything else contributed to me wanting to take a step down, so I can enjoy my footy. Have also gone there with a couple of mates, so should be good fun and hopefully have a crack at the finals. And NO Injuries!
I can confirm that Matty Pillios will be leaving the EDFL for a full time position with the NFL. This is what I wrote on www.edflfooty.com and I would love your comments.
I cannot believe those jokers who run the EDFL! Here with a top rating show on channel 31 and 2008 was really going to put the EDFL at the top of local footy but once again they manage to stuff it all up.
Matty has done a great job with his show and committment to promote the league. It is a real shame that the stooges running the show dont think it would be logical and beneficial to promote our great league!
It was only a matter of time before Matty got an offer from another league. The NFL will have a footy show, a broadcast match of the day (which is most likely going to be live on the internet) plus the NFL recognises the need for a media officer (Matty Pillios).
Yes Matty is a mate of mine so you can say I am bias but look at the facts. All the EDFL will now have is a half hour show on North West Fm and that is it. I will also say that I dont have any allegiance with the NFL (once Coburg Amateurs folded) so there is no hidden agenda here.
I will continue to run this website as my passion for the EDFL continues on and I cannot wait to see the mighty burgers play a couple of games. I must say congratulations to ALL the clubs as they have made the league what it is today.
The improvement and the professionalism of the EDFL has NOTHING to do with the monkeys running the show. I hope this makes them have a real good hard look at what they are doing and it is nothing short of DISGRACEFUL!

Caveman, whilst l understand you coming on here defending your mate, surely the EDFL must have their reasons for what is going on. Can you give us the ratings for the show, can you give us the costs of running the show, is Matty being paid by the EDFL. All clubs contribute roughly $1000 to the running of the show as well as what ever the sponsers put in so maybe you can give us these answers. l for one enjoy watching the show and think Matty does a great job but l think there might be more to too it.
