EDFL moves

Massive shame for the EDFL, have mates that play ammos and in the ballarat league who reguarly watched the show and commented on how well it was run so will be a huge loss as a marketing tool for the league and its sponsors.

As much as Matty's bias was annoying he did a pretty good job, most of the sponsors on the show were a dirrect result of either Matts friendships or buisness releations, Matty would have spent many an hour putting it together (not sure if he was paid or not) But surely would have been worth the EDFL persisting with it and putting in some funds.

The Ammos always have been the pin up of local footy, The Eastern has matched them and now the Northern is stepping up with there professionalismits about time the EDFL got rid of there geriatric attitude and stepped up to the plate. No organisation should have the same people in charge for such a long period, for the league to move forward it needs to replace these people who have been holding back the league for so long.

The NFL got a huge kick up the boom two years ago when it was the DVFL and almost went out the door. But thanks to AFL Victoria the debts have been dealt with and the NFL admin came in with a new broom. Totally different situation to what we have with the EDFL. Change for changes sake never works, but should changes be required then I'm sure the people running the Clubs that are the EDFL will say something.

Can I ask, do you trust the people running your club to know if changes are required or not? If you don't then how the EDFL is run is not your biggest concern.

wrfl footy show also got scrapped 12 months ago because they lost the major sponsor, as much as we enjoyed the show when we watched it the cost was 30k which the clubs would of had pay so after a vote the show was turfed

Being from another league i believe the edfl is at a huge loss from losing the show it was a great window into your league as alot of people i know used to sit down and watch it it week in week out as it was very informative and gave people a look into the edfl and showed it was a well oiled machine

We hear a lot thur these pages about the large sums of money clubs pay out in the EDFL, surely that must mean there is a few well off businesses that could jump in and assist in keeping this popular production going. I live in Kilmore and love to watch the show every week

Can't believe that the league will have no Tv coverage and merely crap local paper and that terrible radio show that nobody listens too (if that is still going)?
The league should have Matty run a radio match of the day, tv show as the match footage & interviews is Gold and get sponsorship. With his contacts he would be a great asset.
It would also force him not to help Marby so much, if he was part of the E.D.F.L.
The kid has done the hard yards by the looks of it and has great mannerisms. Saw him at our club last year and was fantastic with parents, kids and senior players. Very professional and made it great for our club. Even had outside players down getting involved in a handball game.

I think the Marby factor is the only negative that annoys anybody and the league could fix it if they had an idea.
Bring the show back!!!

You are right on the money with Gaylard. Very talented footballer when younger, but his knees let him down. Then became a drug pig at Braybrook. Wouldn't want to turn your back on him. Regardless of how much talent at Abers, not sure how sustainable it would be with a bloke like him on the coaching panel.

Gayza is a great bloke and doing a super job down at Abers.

His playing record and coaching record in the WRFL speaks for itself.

Sure he may have had limited success at KP but lets be honest - they didn't have the cattle to match it with the top sides. Got some good results from an average side.

The coaching staff at Abers have fitted in beautifully, are heavily involved in all aspects and the players are loving it

This year's A Grade comp will be closest it has been for many years.

Apart from Greenvale who are the obvious favourites and would be $1.01 to win it.

All other middle of the range clubs have improved immensely.

Can you please tell me his record in the WRFL?? When he left he had a life (or long term) ban hanging over his head as a player and had just finished taking Braybrook to B grade as a coach??? Not disputing whether he's a great bloke or fits in well, that's only a part of success i would suggest?!? The KP boys have never been shy of a good time and there's plenty of 'great blokes' there, but that doesn't equal success.....

My mail was that he was required to make a special application for registration with EDFL due to the previous suspension at WRFL.....

About the Drugs and stuff. I can not comment b/cause I do not know, but I imagine that if he has a family then the drugs will be a no go zone for him.

If you are going to accuse someone for doing something, you better have correct information as things always come back and bite you on the arse.

northcote park f.c is looking for a practice match for tuesday 18th march at 5.30pm to be held at their home ground the bill lawry oval which is in immaculate condition...looking at a 6 1/4 game ph 0412298231...need to know by friday

marby and northcote park had a game organised for 6 weeks to be played at marby this sunday...the back up plan was to play at northcote park on the tuesday if marbys ground was unavailable which happened.it was agreed last night tuesday the 18th was to be game day.that was untill glen allison decided to shaft northcote park to play gisborne at gisborne.

I know Gazy pretty well and i think he's a great fella who loves he footy more than others!
He brought me n me cousin down from Darwin a few years ago to play in the WRFL and he took us under he's wing!
After a few games we ended up playing in the VFL which was a great experience for the both of us!
Is doing alot for the Indiginous community around Australia with Dean Rioli and has alot of respect from alot of people!
Never seen him take or talk bout drugs so i dont know why someone would say that!

TC heard a disturbing rumour that the current senior list phone numbers were supplied to certain WRFL clubs by a contracted player still on the list at the KFC for 08. Has he been diciplined or have any actions been taken against him ?

Maybe the list of phone numbers were leaked to EDFL B Grade clubs too and that is the reason for Glen 'Turbo' SULLIVAN becoming a very sought after commodity??

KFC has an intra-club this Saturday so the source of the leak may be looking over his shoulder.
