Northern Saints by 35 points over Airport West, could of been more if they had of kicked straight
So a better performance by Doutta this week or is it that Craigieburn are that bad or Marby are not a bad side.
Pretty happy to see the Stars bounce back and have a great win. Always a tough ask heading over to "The Bronx" and coming away with a win, not to mention all four wheels on your car!! Have to say I had written them off after Marbo gave them a hiding Round 1, so full credit to the coaching staff and the players for proving me (and plenty of others) wrong..would say a 12 goal better side then last weeks shocker, haven't won at the burn the last 2 years so great to grab the points. wasted some opportunity's early, the back half did well, wooley was a strong presence forward, carey doing as he likes again, al making the most of his chances, found some speed around the contests, have three quality boys to come back in the next week or two, no injures out of the game.
full steam ahead douttas.

See GV and the Mores was another tight one so maybe its not the one horse race that alot are predicting?? Any thoughts from those who saw that game....was it a comfortable 4 goals or could have gone either way?
Doutta's were a lot more prepeared to put their heads over the ball and get in first. Craigieburn pretty disappointing after a great effort the week before against Strathmore. Good crowd for a shitty windy day.would say a 12 goal better side then last weeks shocker, haven't won at the burn the last 2 years so great to grab the points. wasted some opportunity's early, the back half did well, wooley was a strong presence forward, carey doing as he likes again, al making the most of his chances, found some speed around the contests, have three quality boys to come back in the next week or two, no injures out of the game.

Avondale Hts upset them by 4 pts. Thought Marbo were going to steal it in the end, but the Heights were much hungrier and harder all day. Credit to them.
I hate to say it, but the Marby Park coaches looked to be outdone again.
Very RE-ACTIVE instead of PRO- ACTIVE.
Cam Trewin was unstoppable early. Think a few bigger bodies would suit Marbo on home games, as the ground is 70% the size of Douttas, Greenvale, Keilors & Craigieburns.
Great crowd on the day.
I didnt get down to watch the stars yesterday, but a good bounce back win. BIg clash this coming week against A/H who had a good win today against marby. Who are the players returning for the stars and do you think they can string 2 in row?
round 2
douttas v crazy - 3 goals. douttas back in the mix.
abers v keilor - 2 goals. 2 blues 2 good.
mores v vales - 22 points. greenvale fall in a heap with 10 injures.
marby v heights - 10 goals. harro retires from old age.
oak v wc - 6 goals. wests looking to b grade.
shit i dont like to blow my own horn but
stars v crazy spot on 3 goals
abers v keilor 4 points off
vales v mores wrong tip but 1 point off the margin
forget the other two games didn't care to much about them.
love it when keilor lose, but not when abers win![]()
Great win to Abers, very tough game. Keilor are well drilled, Houlihan is a very good player but Keilor lack a genuine centre half forward from what i could tell. Keilor are now 0-2 and have to play an in form West Coburg...just shows how cut throat this season will be.
Abers are doing a great job and with Cole, Egan, Lerm, Rioli, M.Murray etc. still to come back it aint looking so bad for the 2 blues. But looking at the rest of the comp every game is going to be huge.
Prophetic, is there any chance big Richie Cole will get on the park this year? Have heard he is enjoying himself a little to much in the canteen and may just spend the year helping Aber's out in there.
Also heard rumors buzzing around Clifton Park on Saturday that former Aberfeldie junior and current SANFL star Kristian De Pasquale will be making an appearance at the club in current weeks and that Abers president John Larkins will be making him one of the biggest offers in EDFL history to return to the club for the 2009 season.
Word was John is keen to build on what he expects to be a much improved year for the club this year and bring some of the old Aberfeldie juniors having success elsewhere back to the club.
