Carey is a superstar - couldn't agree more!

Goon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok boys and girl, lets get this straight the word above which PUFF used "goon" is a word used by 85% of douttas people over a very long time.
if you think of a word which sounds like goon what do you come up with that is a racist word, ok we all know the answer. so lets just take it easy with the payouts on douttas its not something that happens at the club or any other that i know of. its a serious claim and unacceptable anywhere and anytime and its untrue so lets keep it about footy and not that dribble just to try and give a club a bad name.
premierships is what douttas is about and to some people in the edfl world its just a jealousy thing. most footy clubs are the same deep down its the flags that determined the love/hate. look at carlton collingwood essendon, won the most flags and the most hated. end of story.

Im sick of this racism sh!t,OK here's what to do if your at a game and it happens i understand that maybe that people are uncomfortable in approaching the person which is fair enough but go and see a club official or the president on the quiet and let them know.

Yes it is unacceptable and dont say i carnt be bothered or its not worth it as if you feel that stongly about racism(once again its totaly unacceptable,ZERO TOLERANCE) then speak up and lets clean it up.

And Once again i have NOT heard any such remarks at any Douttas games i go to,and once again i carnt be everywhere when watching the game and am not saying it has never happened ever at all but i havent heard it.

There was a post earlier in the season where it was stated that such comments were coming from a particular area of the ground and i was in that area the whole game and it did NOT happen, simple as that, well unless it was when i went to buy a hotdog :D

Anyway enough of my rambling im boring myself ;)

I was at the first game of the round- Doutta Stars vs Maribyrnong and there was a group of 12-15 supporters standing near the YMCA building drinking cans and the racists remarks coming from that group towards the Maribyrnong waterboys and trainers etc was pathetic and really bad.
After the game they all pissed off and left there cans and rubbish, what SCUM.

Doutta Star people no wonder you guys are getting a bad name, someone at your club needs to act with these blokes, Im sure you would know who they are! It seems that everybody is complaining .

what bout tony marachiello and tony villani[/quot

most of your ethnic players a new , 5 years ago u hardly had any in the seniors and if you ask most people who have been the most racist and have the least ethnic players over the years they would say douttas and maybee abers with the ethnic players aswell, wouldnt think that the douttas boys 10-5 years ago got around saying they played at a wog club and had similaritys with west coburg you goose

Just because they didn't come straight off the boat to training in a cab to Cooper St, does not mean they are of an ethnic background.

This club has had players from Italian,Greek, Ukrainian, Asian, Polish, Irish, Aboriginal, British, Yugolsavian and numerous more representing the club at not only a playing level but also coaching, commitee and major sponsors for over 30 years and they are still being seen on the feild at junior level today.

Your ill informed comments and petty mud slinging is becoming tiresome.

ok ok ok - wierd question but interested to hear averyone thoughts.... Interested in hearing the views of the EDFL umpiring standards this year? Any particular umpires that have performed well? Who is the best umpire in the EDFL?

Personally it would be great if this topic never got discussed at all. Our clubs and league is above this sort of behaviour in my opinion.

As i said from the start - well done Douttas on the weekends win it was a great effort after the first quarter and you deserved the win.

I raised the issue of racism as i personally heard it myself, we can go on forever about he said she said. There have been plenty of Douttas people deny it happened and that's fine as i guess it will never get settled as it's one word over another.

I was disappointed to hear it as the Doutta Stars football club is a huge part of the EDFL, i love the rivalry Abers have against Douttas and they are always great games to be involved in and that will continue for way beyond all of our football days.

The people I've known for years and speak to regularly from the Doutta Stars football club are great people and i have utmost respect for the likes of Brian Grey, Sammy Tankard, Kade Carey, the support staff etc etc.

In my opinion it is disappointing when comments i heard on the weekend are said out loud. I have copped abuse numerous times throughout my playing days and it is laughable and at the same time enjoyable - i give as much back as i cop but i have never been on the end of racism remarks, i can't comment on how it would feel.

The comments from the weekend were disappointing as i said the player it was aimed at didn't hear it (or at least i don't think he did) so lets just drop it and get on with talking footy.

Douttas have been known for years to be racist and its about time they get reconized for it. I bet the douttas racist supporters will be a bit quiet this week at west coburg ..... hmmm i wonder why ?

Hans if you feel that passionate about this then get out from behind your pseudonym and stand up and be counted. This forum was intended for discussion of football matters between competing clubs and their supporters.

If all you are going to contribute is this innuendo and mud slinging then open your ears to ALL supporters at ALL grounds and become Stan Pettetts Anti Racism Informer.

You might be surprised who you have to tip in to head Office.

Well put...I believe a few years ago the Stars had a couple of Darwin guys in there team...great blokes who played a game at Keilor and copped the racist roth of their super box to the left of the Coaches box/scoreboard....believe the Douttas Coach marched into the Keilor changerooms after the game and fronted the coach players and supporters demanding representitives make themselves available in the visitors changerooms to express their regret in the comments and actions that took place throughtout the afternoon directed at the Darwin players, they obliged....unfortunetly it is still happening in our society and maybe the league should take a closer look at it....

Comp medal hmmm Potter from GV seems to be doing pretty well at the minute,we (D.S.) havent won many games but Carey and Ramsey have been doing quite well lately and B Grade i would have no idea ;)

Cheers Drebster.

l haven't seen a game of local EDFL footy in over a year.
Try and get updates from this forum on EDFL footy on players, teams etc.
Greenvale look like they will go all the way again but for some unknow reason l think Kelior will pinch it from all reports.

Glenroy look the goods in B grade. I'm picking a Westy Vs Glenroy grand final. Norther saints by the results look sharp at the present time but l think in there first year they will fade out come season end.

Obviously its been said already but its a shit effort to bag people on Bigfooty, clearly Kade is an asset to EDFL and his game last week was phenomenal.

In regard to comp medal I'd say A grade will go to Bicer, or maybe Ramazan Pekes. How many games has L Gray played, any Marbi people know? That bloke is a freak so he could be a chance.

I dont follow B Grade much but ill say Cameron Hare from Tulla...have to give a mate a mention hehe.

Not sure why you would expect a "fade out', it's not as though these guys have never played footy before....
Add to that, several have A Grade/VFL experiece ie. Millsy, Torts, Nunz, Mocca, Bouza. Tamar is VFL listed as was Fedele in the past. Then you have the younger guys like Col, Rees, Gray, Rocky and Chachi...I guess time will tell.

The Saints are at no bigger risk of a fade out than any other side in the comp.

Remember Fawkner FC had gone into reccess last years and the majority of the Fawkner senior players went over to North Coburg FC, so the team merged last year unofficially. This was a driving factor behind the merge as had Fawkner come out of reccess North Coburg would have lost many senior players going back and both Clubs would have struggled . . . . badly.

So I wouldn't count on a fade out from the Northerners ;)

On a lighter note, comp medal for both A and B grade! Who will win them?

Marby best choice would be Heath Ayres, Leigh Gray missed a few games with injury. From the oppositoin I take an easy punt and say Rabee Haoucher consdiering he was won a few of them,

B Grade I dont know,

Who will on the weekend and Go Marbi!!

The middle core player's along with younger player's will test your club come finals time.
A couple of those players you have named will go missing come finals time and when the pressure is applied.
Let's not get carried away with VFL listed players now saintson, it's now hard to be listed at VFL club!
Torts, Mocca, Bouza are experienced players and will stand up when the pressure is on and let's not forget A.Lurara.
No one talks about this bloke but in my opinion he is the best footballer at the Northern Saints, can play anywhere on the ground.
Time will tell, it's only my opinion.

I have seen H.Ayres play in DVFL now the NFL and he is clear standout.
L.Grey is awesome and is a running machine, will poll well. If he stays injury free will go close.
R.Haouchar will come close again, once you win one you tend to win a couple.

Is that meant to be Adrian Luvara. If so, he was a gun junior and played a bit down at abers. I think they didnt treat him right and he left the club, its a real shame because he was a real gun. Im not sure whether we are talking about the same bloke though. Are we?

From what i have seen i would say best in A grade would have to go to Denis Bicer just because he tore abers apart, but then again so did everyone for Greenvale. Ayres and Grey were very good. Doering and houcher cant be counted out

Silly, thats the bloke. Thanks for the correction.

Great over head mark for his size and hard as nails. Players would love to go into battle with him.

Lets just wait and see Tess.
I still remember your team getting a 30 goal smashing every week on a big ground.

Don't get ahead of yourself's just yet.

It was only Mocca's sense of history that stopped Northern finishing off Taylors Lakes in round 1's away opening game when they led in the final quarter.

Mocca just wanted the first win of the new powerhouse to on our Home Ground. ;)

History? Please correct me if l'm wrong, but isn't this your first year in the comp under the new team name - Northern saints!

Let's get some footy talk going Tess, let's see how good your knowledge is on your current playing group.
Give us a run down on your top 12 players.
