Ahhh....we got done again, at the hands of those keilor sucks...I'm gonna write a letter to the comp and request if we can defer the game next week against keilor Park and play it as the Curtain raiser to the Grand Final to decide the club thats gonna go down to "B" Grade....honestly, the club should be sponsored by Libra Tampons...they'd make a fortune...

Disgruntled Abers Fan....

If Strathmore's ground is terrible, I'd hate to think how Westmeadow's ground would rate.

They may as well play out on the road, it's that bloody hard. Can't believe they let the juniors play on it. Straight out dangerous IMO.

Westmeadows ground looked horrible yesterday (Saturday), alot of dirt patches everywhere and walking across the ground to me felt uneven.

Greenvale defeated Strathmore

Strathmore's ground is terrible!!!

not much word from the MORES , they must have had their pants pulled down and spanked at the weekend.
Home ground advantage ,undermanned greenvale plus the umpires and still could`nt win.....

Does this mean that GREENVALE`S money is better than STRATHMORE`S money???????????????

Weather just was'nt cold enough to not come out after 1/2 time....they could have walked off because of the condition of the ground....ooohh..thats right...its their ground...ahh well, pen to paper, whats Darren Gaspers figure??

Well atleast there is some interest this year,GV and Strathmore :) as last year was a foregone conclusion with Strathmore far to good for the rest.Top 2 are settled as well as bottom 2 and the rest will scramble for 3rd and 4th.How about the other 6 teams sit out the rest of the year and put the $50K they save towards next year :D

WAXY

Where will Strathmore Cricket Club going to play there cricket in 2007-08 season, the Moonee Valley council should by then close the ground for 5-6 months. Lucky the football club on it for 2007. Someone out of the football or cricket club had to be kicked off while the ground grass grows.

Any truth to the rumour that an under 18 (A grade) coach is offering the entire team a trip to Bali if they win the flag this year. Would have to set him back $25K. The team has a realistic chance of winning too.

Your close...its the Aberfeldie Senior coach, in regards to his Senior Team, the offer is if they win a game..... hmmm then again, Donnelly has us at 15/1 to win the flag!!

Go Abers!!!

Unless he coaches Keilor under 18 his money is safe !!

I think it might have been in 2003 that one Keilor President organised a ticker-tape parade down the old Calder Hwy and got t-shirts and caps printed as being premiers for that year, as they thought there was no chance they would lose, but as history shows even when you are a monty too win it, the wheels seem to fall off at the wrong time.
The President was seen very early Monday dumping all the hats and t-shirts at the local tip, so 'Sticks' I wouldn't be to cocky just yet.
Greenvale, Doutta's and maybe a couple of others are still realistic challengers......;)

I don't think that it was the keilor under 18's coach. I believe that the offer has been made by a coach of one of the true challengers in under 18A. So he may have to cough up $25k.

Fair Point --- Bad memories back in 03... although no one @ Keilor witnessed any caps or T-Shirts.. Well done to Oakers that day played a superb game of footy after being outplayed in the first 20 minutes.... If i remember correctly one M Egan was CHB and played very well....

Keilor Under 18's look very strong Maybe the senior coach should be taking a look at a few of them ????

Irrespective of where your team is positioned during the season, I feel there is always a couple of spots in the senior team for giving the younger players an opportunity to gain some experience. Perfect example would be Jack Pascu at Oakers, he has developed into a very handy player.

Tell that to Briggs, Bouzikas, Faraj, O'neill, O'connor etc etc at Greenvale!!:D

I know of one club in the amateurs where the players that took the field in a lower grade senior G/F last year had all come through their junior program. I dont think any club in the EDFL could have those type of bragging rights.

I reckon every club has a fair swag of players in their seniors that have not played juniors with that club.

Would anyone like to come up with a list of home grown (must have played juniors with that club, not another.) compared to imported players say for last weeks A. Grade teams.
Would be very interesting.

Can't help you with a list but the point I was making is that GV can barely fit some of there gun recruits in the side let alone giving juniors a go just for experience. I'm sure they're not alone..... If they earn a spot abpve a recruit they should play, but not just because it's good for the club. The clubs have a responsibility to produce juniors that are of a standard high enough to secure their spot on merit.:thumbsu:

From last weeks games that i know of - these players did play juniors at their club to my knowledge. Correct me if i'm wrong because i'm not 100% sure.

Very interesting - in particular West Coburg given their success this year.
