It's all well and good for SM to have signed him but what are people's thoughts on the reasons behind a June signing?? SM haven't had significant injuries, such as DS so I'm just wondering what their motivation is?? It sometimes appears that they recruit guys just so other teams don't!?! Or have they started to worry about having the cattle to run with GV?? If that is the case I would think someone over 6 ft in the back line would be more important, especially if the post on here was true about Barnard and Williams being doubtful.....thoughts?

Well it would seem that we have gone from 6 teams battling it out for 3rd and 4th spot now to maybe just 1,being West Coburg.The top 4 as it stands is likely at seasons end with maybe the Burgers some sort of chance of sneaking in ahead of Avondale.Oakers and Crazyburn wouldnt make it you'd think and Douttas would need something really special.
What happened to Douttas???Abers had only won one game and were only beaten by Douttas in round one by a very good goal right at end of game.A bit like the Demons Douttas,up one year and down the next.People say its too hard to compete with GV and Strathmores coin/talent but they(Douttas) should be competitive against everyone else.
2 losses to Avondale,a loss to Abers and West Coburg i guess isnt good enough,you would take one all against Avondale and the West Coburg loss but not the Abers one so theres 8 points which puts them 3rd or 4th which is where you would expect them to be.
Well i guess they will get back the following players soon,Carey,Hollow,Turner,Morris,Atkins and i think Sutton is out for the year and i believe if they are some sort of chance of playing finals then Sammy Tankard may be available but even with a full or near full strength team they havent shown alot this year.Carnt be due to lack of talent must be all between the ears.

All I heard was that Gatt (AW) got 2 weeks for striking a Roxy player after that player had kicked him (roxy player got 8 weeks). Don't know the name of the Roxy player but I'm sure will here more of it.
