Guys all you talk about is Strathmore and Greenvale, Please let us see where these two teams will be in 5 years.

Don't get me wrong, Strathmore and Greenvale have been powerhouse teams of recent years but can they maintain there dominance in years to come? I know as long as Bruce Kent is still in Charge at GV they will always be on top, but what will happen when he leaves? and Strathmore?? When will there success end? Was this the end of a 2.5 year era? They have some quality players but do they have passion for the club and will they stay when the money runs out?

Last year everyone was talking about how good Doutta Stars were and that they had a big future infront of them...... Well what happened there?

To become a good club you need to be successfull for a long period of time.

Sorry But I honestly think that Doutta's last year were a one hit wonder (even though they are the most celebrated club in the comp) Strathmore have been very successfull over the recent years, how will the go from here? Greenvale, like I said as long as kent is there they will still be strong?

This is not a dig at any club this is just an observation.
 
My club dont jump fences to king hit kids.So take those filthy little drop kicks and put them down.You must had been one of those little filthy wogs.And they want Sunbury to come in.Its always the poor area thats starts trouble.Why did we let them in?:thumbsdown:

Blast Off I agree with your comments about the Greenvale supporters. Those young kids were a bunch of cowards. There race or where they have come from has nothing to do with what they did. They are just kids who are to scared or not good enough to play footy.
And even though it was a minority of the Greenvale FC they as a club still should be punished.

The fact is that kids that are that age have an ego that need to be deflated and I tell you now that there day will come. They will push the wrong person and no matter what race these people are they will get there heads kicked in.

Guys who are playing on the football feild go out there and play with passion hence why a fight will break out, but after every game all players will shake hands. So for losers like those dim wits should be punished, and GV should take responsibility for there actions.

So Blast off I do agree with you but drop the racists comments, it is not needed.

To the fatboy in the stands from s/more......l don't follow any of those sides but went there to see a great game ..that it was..but for you and your redneck tool mates ... none of you have the balls to go to the coach of g/vale and call him a choker...gutless fat rednecks...the mouths stopped shooting when your side lost....hey fat bay bet you haven't played before...but bet you that while your mates were playing you were feeding your mouth.. hey fat boy see ya later fat redneck...

Can any of you guys shed some light on the A Grade clubs Best and Fairest winners??

What's everyone's opinion on the EDFL team of the year? I thought Hakim was stiff to miss the full forward spot (I dont really rate him myself, but usually the leading goal kicker is a definate starter), I probably would have had Winter at CHF over Sheppard too...
 
Ha ha more gold from you abers. Mate your have never ever played the game so pls stop with this routine. G'vale supporters had a ball. Maybe you didn't look up into the stands and see all those drunk mostly underage Strathmore people hurling feral abuse form the top level and baiting everyone as the threepeat looked an absolute certainty. Strathmore and good grace are words that have never gone together! Its got me and most people on this board stuffed how you NEVER EVER see anything wrong with poor old Strathmore. Your always either deflecting attention on other clubs or trying to play psychology 101

Anyway was a great game by the Strathmore players. They have got some superstar players and as I said during the week there really is nothing between the teams on paper. But hey I guess your not disappointed coz after all you had nothing to lose. Like I said during the week champ. Mind games only go so far. Question - By your logic did Strathmore choke coz they had one hand on the cup then had the last 5 goals kicked against them into the breeze

And has for the bloke potting Haks. He still kicked 2 goals and did so neally ever game this year. Yes he didn't dominated but Little is a gun defender. Don't see too many blokes on here potting Harvey who got trashed in both finals and is on about 750 bucks more than Haks. Its hard to dominate against gun defenders. It's almost as bad as blokes potting May. I also saw him take a hammering more than once and at the end of the game he was still running

Fair enough you stick up for your own. He has no second effort and he can not bend over. He needs the ball to actual land in his arms for him to even be a 50/50 chance.
Most players of his height would be kicking bags of goals playing in the side he played in where the ball was being delivered lace out.
In a second rate side he would not touch the ball as proven when he was playing for Essendon Grammer in the B Grade ammos.

Great summary of the game Starboy. Your "mate" will be hurt by both your cutting assesment and your spelling. Time for bed I think.

Don't quite see the logic there Starboy. They all get paid, top to bottom. So by your definition they were all trying to "buy" a flag, and GV finished on the top of the heap.

Great game of footy and the best part was I was standinding near some Strathmore people who thought they had it in the bag when they got 9 points up in the last (me included).

That Hakim is one of the biggest cats to have ever received a medallion his efforts all day were terrible. GV final realised how bad he was and didn't play him in the last quarter when the game needed winning.
On the other hand our favorite player Tate was I believe one of Strathmores better players for the day, he would of been a massive lose if he had of got weeks.

Better buy a cushion for your seat on the wagon Abers as you will be sitting on it for a lot longer if you are going to hang around for 19 flags.

I agree it was a great game on Sunday. I was barracking for Strathmore as the underdogs although they aren't my team. Strathmore did have a few chances they stuffed up, but overall a good watch. Yes Tate was easily one of the best on ground this time and I guess he'll be back to entertain us again next season.

Well i wouldnt quite put it that way but yeah i can see your point and bloody oath i would like some consistency at my own club,i envy a club like Keilor who have made the finals all but once in the last 20 years or something to that effect.

Yes it will be interesting to see as i guess Oak Park have slipped a fair bit after being a real power house.Well it wont be long untill all of our clubs begin our shopping for 08(im sure some are already doing so) it must be fun to be in football operations at a club and listen to blokes who arent even that good saying i want $500,$600 a game and wont take anything less :D .It would be nice not to have to recruit a third or a half of a team each year :(

Well the season is over.Its been a funny reading the post through year,but I must blast off to Mars to get a new range of hot water systems for the coming season.Well done to Greenale and good effort Mores.
Lest hope the other teams improve in 2008.

Thought Hille's homework and starting positions where a big winner in the coaching stakes on the weekend. Harvey up the ground, Holman on the backline, Carrick up forward, etc...very well thought out...
Strathmore's dominance out of the centre with the likes of Tate, Obrien, Doering etc overwhelmed the normally cool and tractor like proceesion of R. Pekes, no matter who GV threw in there, the Mores' kept getting the clearances. I thought Hille's move once he had the ascendancy at 3/4 time of starting the last with his big guns of Holman, Doering, Quinn and Tate in the centre who contributed to the 13pt lead and supposing winning margin at the 23 minute mark of the last was excellent...but then McPherson threw Aloi and Ryan into the centre, pulled R. Pekes out and sat him on the line at CHF, you could see the body language of the crowd that the threepeat was coming to frurition....and it slowly spread onto the playing arena and a few of the Mores players had grasped the handle of the cup whilst holding a celebrative green frothy in the other hand, prematurely thinking about the accolades and festivities ahead of them in the next few days/weeks and history books being re-written, their names going into the annuals of Strathmore's hall of fame rather than concentrating like they had for the prior 113 minutes only to sit back and watch Aloi and Ryan egg smash the ball on 2 occasions out of the centre to the ever dangerous and alert R. Pekes sitting on the CHF line, who mind you, I would say be extremely dissapointed at this stage of the game regarding his contribution to the GV effort, and like a true champion (congrats to him on the most votes in the Comp B&F) kicks 2 telling goals to bring GV from the edge of Suicide to realisation and all of a sudden his teamates have a sniff, grow a leg and steamroll the team who I think dominated for 113 minutes of the entire game. 5 minutes later, (pity if you went to the bar or took a dump) the siren sounds, the crowd and players are in disbelief and the cup and green frothies have transfered from the Blue and Gold to the Black and Green. I think we have all heard the saying that its not over till the Fat Lady sings...well, there was a young Fat Mores supporter up in the stand and he was singing at the 113 minute mark, maybe his voice could be heard by his players on the ground, but as your taught as a junior, "you gotta play the whole 120 minutes".
Congrats to Strathmores J. Watts, thought his game was a blinder and the GV CHB, don't know what Coconut tree he fell out of but I think everyone would agree you would love to have 2 or 3 of he in your side. Wears the Blinkers, runs straight at the contest and hard as nails, great game mate..
Congrats Strathmore on making it....but all the accolades and praise need to go GV way for 2007 Premiers Champions...I read in one of the media article of the game that Hille cannot place his finger on what went wrong...well Craig, you had done all you could off the bench, I think the blame must go solely on your team on the track, they'd accepted the cup and the wreath, parked the car in the pits and where celebrating the win before they'd crossed the finish line. Be interesting how they travel next year...hope their back for another crack, I'm sure the Jets will be!!

Oh and in regards to Marby...they have 5 players who could step up next year...I'm sure Mr Allison will find the other 17!!:rolleyes:
 
Hows Jay Smiley go down at Jacana, played juniors with him at Wyche Narraport out inthe country, but by the looks of it he isnt the twig he once was. Also his brother Cam Rooney at Pasco Vale hows he traveling, both boys have extremly great natural ability but from record I think Jay can find the training track a bit easier then Cam.

Bicer, wasn't my best but mine doesn't count. Its hard enough for the umps to get decisions right on the park little own pick best on, its a last quarter decision i think. We all play for a premiership but a BOG in the big one is a great thing to tell the kids, why not have a selection panel decide with a voting system of 54321. Another job for KD & his sidekicks, he would love it. :D
