To be fair that might be in part due to him coaching in another league and the travel associated with players moving with the ex coach. From what I’ve heard (and it’s only from a few people) that the ex coach was extremely well liked. Plus he was in demand around the metro/country leagues but choose to go to NFNL. So not sure what all the negativity is for.

It’s going over old ground but no one is criticising the new coach as anyone that coaches thesedays I commend for the work they need to do for a salary that put into an hourly rate is very low. Plus the salary cap and player points, not to mention dealing with players since covid. Hence there are not as many people interested as maybe there was 5-6 years ago!

Thoughts?

Coaching change will be judged by win/loss only surely. Rocky will have all the advantages that Bonghetti had with playing list and new facilities etc. let’s see if he can put them into the finals ?
Think the jury was well and truly out on Bonghetti‘s coaching but have they really got a better one in Rocky ? Think most expected a high profile coach to take over after the sudden sacking of bongo. Maybe Rocky is just a puppet for the master ?

Fantastic to hear all the players are happy and are enjoying the new coach.

Lets see if the results match the feelings and if they can be sustained.

Normally when a coach plays they need help on the bench, Pat was on the bench because bongetti asked for him there while he played and he was the previous coach so knew the list better then anyone for Bongettis first year coaching and playing.

Won’t be on the bench this time round Rocky is a lot more experienced then bongetti and is not playing coach. So will actually be on the bench himself.

Stupid question.

How didn’t you understand my point turbo, your a coach mate.

My point was to have a sideline assistant that knew the players, when your coach is playing and decisions have to be made last second and you don’t have time to consult the coach that’s in a contest on the field it’s best to have someone who knows the players and where they play best mate.

Since you know so much about everything torp let’s say who cares what is happening with Matty Denis hey. Focus on Eltham.
It doesn’t sit well that ur boy got sacked, who cares again. Where you in the player exit meetings where you, from I’ve been told the coach wasn’t popular at all. Maybe to his face but not to his back. Every time he was challenged he couldn’t get them over the line now could he. He wasn’t as liked as daddy thought. He might have been a good bloke but could he coach. Many people didn’t rate him in that area although the president obviously did that’s why he was Re appointed but something changed. I wonder what that was, players ???
