Great games again this week very interesting ... Is The EDFL senior premier competition at its strongest as it's ever been ? .... Yes the big 3 are usually and should be always favorites though in no particular order DP AW DS PV and MP have a chance if they are on their game !!

Deer Park has the best home & away following of any edfl Premier Club. Its easy to be critical but a game of footy is not much fun to play or watch with no spectators. It is well known opposition players love playing Deer Park because it means they are playing in front of an audience. The Blue Wave is the lifeblood of the league in some respects.

Not sure if it’s the best standard it’s ever been. But it’s certainly (so far) the most even it’s been for many years. 9th and 10th placed teams are 0 and 3, but with percentages of 76 and 65, which shows they’ve been very competitive. So in that sense you could say that the competition is strong and healthy. The 5 teams you mentioned will certainly cause upsets this season against Strathmore, Abers and Keilor. Very even round of football coming up.

Showing my age a bit, but personally thought in the period 2004-2010 the top teams (Greenvale, Keilor, Marby, Douttas and Strathmore) were exceptionally powerful. Being prior to the salary cap and points restrictions there were more ex AFL Players involved, both in a playing and coaching capacity. I just thought the standard, at least among the top teams was better then. Others may have different recollections though.
