EDFL Premier Discussion 2026

Its obvious how successful Deer Park were in the WRFL , playing against inept ,second rate football clubs that refused to get sucked in to the over the top payments of paddock footballers.
The Deer Park Football Club is nothing without the support they have corruptly gained from the Deer Park Sports Club and the pokie machine money .
They still have that money from the sports club however now find themselves in a competition that is above the ordinary standard that they helped destroy.
They have jumped ship and just cant make the grade in the EDFL .We read every year that Deer Park will destroy the opposition this upcoming year and it hasnt happened, and now are starting to be a bit of a laughing stock for us all.
The least we can do is say thanks to them for that
Simple facts

Unfortunately the umpires have it in for Deer Park so that will hinder them. Anything but a flag is a failure at Deer Park.
What a defeatist attitude LB.. hopefully you aren’t to “inner sanctum” as your negativity is akin to kicking into 4 goal breeze.

I just looked at aberfeldies premiership teams and deer park arent getting within 12 goals of them
Deer Parks first WRFL flag in 2013 had the following players:

  • Barling (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Towner (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Stewart (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Desousa (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Buttigieg (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • MacKenzie (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Broadbent (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Ayres (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Jones (EDFL Premiership Player)
  • Shylo Smith

Then they added more the following years from EDFL Premier
  • Condos
  • Van Riet

Also ex AFL Talent

  • Guerra
  • Houlihan
  • Fevola
  • Hargreaves

Those Deer Park sides, would have given any side in any comp a run for their money.

This forum falls into the bait from the DP crew, who clearly are winding up for their own enjoyment, but anyone that watched any footy during those years, whether you like DP or not, cant say they didnt have a good side. And to the argument that it was WRFL or whatever, half their side were from Marby Park who went back to back in the EDFL.

DP went to the EDFL too late, by 2022 their dominance in the WRFL had finished and they were in decline. In their final 2 years (2021 & 2022), they won only 19 of 32 games.

Would have liked to see their 2015-2017 sides play in the EDFL. Far superior to their 2022 side.

Ladder predictions

Keilor
Strathmore
Marby
Apw
Douttas
Deer Park
Pacco
Abers
Greenvale
Hillside

Thoughts
Do you really thing Greenvale 2nd last with the recruits they have gained? I know they have also had losses of players. How close do you think Hillside and Greenvale would be to relegation? I would place Pacco and Abers above Douttas

Yes maybe Douttas and Pacco swap Abers abit unknown for me. Hillside for me have not done enough in terms of recruiting to stay up.
