Spot on. The positive thing for AH is still a couple talented players to come back in to the side that took apart Marby. I think Marby will struggle next year didn't look like they have any great depth and with there side of the past couple years now wearing deer park guernseys it's a battle. full credit to Brodie holland he has had a crack at recruiting smart, jack Anthony will do well he is carrying an injury I beleive so will only get better and some decent younger players I beleive they had 2-3 18s players playing seniors but some players aren't of A- grade quality, best of luck to them

Well said some good points made.

A lot of noise coming out of Keilor from Old time supporters of the club, these blokes have been tipping money in for years and also give great service. Questioning the 50k plus a rented house being paid to the coach when it could be spent on another gun player or 2. They all agree Mick is a great coach but 50k + rented house for 12months could buy some good players. No use having the best coach if you fall short on $$$ when recruiting becuase the coach is being paid bucket loads

Grasping at straws by the look of your post. Keilor have a player payment budget which is what they will pay nothing more. Admit they havent delivered in last few years 2013 has been tough but lets see where they are at completeion of round 9- 4th spot I would suggest.

Keilor definitely have the easier draw running into the half-way mark, with more 'likely' wins, big game for them in Round 9 Vs. APW. A loss could made it a tough 2nd half of the season for them, will be a cracking game with all players fresh after off the week off.

We have a cracking competition on our hands both OP & PV are very competitive on their day & only need a break. AB are clearly the benchmark for 2013. Picture will be clearer for a few sides after rd 9.

Mmm. Surprised by this result. I expected Keilor to win. They have been fairly impressive in the matches I have seen them so far this season. Marby must have put in a good one.

Unfortunately my mob Strathmore were towelled up by Abers by about 10 goals. Aberfeldie were far too clinical, hard and precise today. Every time Strathmore turned the ball over they were punished, severely.
I know Abers posters are trying to keep a lid on expectations, so are not posting anything at all about their team. However I don't think it would hurt if some of the Aberfeldie faithful at least said they were rapt with their team to date.
Shortish odds that Abers and Greenvale will play off in GF. They are a class above the rest.

Good to see Douttas get up today.
Douttas played brilliant football today, and gave AH a football lesson.
Despite a slow start for the first 10 minutes, they really took control, and their last half, was perhaps their best half of football for many years.
If they can build on todays effort, they will win more than their share!

1. Abers have never had a lid even when we were finishing 9th.
2. Yes all the supporters are rapt that the club is in a great place.
3. We've been here before so there is cautious optimism.
4. There's a long way to go.
5. Whatever any person says on this forum they usually get bagged.
6. This forum was more fun when we were 9th and could complain.

Thanks for that Prophetic. As you said, a long way to go and anything can happen. However to date Abers a very impressive outfit. I can't remember any Abers posters ever being bagged for what some may interpret as getting ahead of themselves. But then again I have a short memory.

I noticed Robbie Hicks was back at the club. Would be a huge boost.

Yes, that was certainly an enormous result for Douttas. That was one Avondale needed to win if they wanted to make the 4. It seems there is very little difference in the standard between teams 3 to 9 on the ladder. Oak Park looking rocky at this stage. Pretty difficult to cover the huge loss of quality players from the club.

Great team effort by EDS, great running game. Thompson effort on Rose was sensational kept him to 4goals (2 of which very dubious free kicks). Good young side and well coached.

Someone got on here and started abusing us for posting and was using our real names, kind of killed the fun and the ability to post. Hence no more Abers.

Noticed David Fanning was in the two's yesterday, what's going on there ?

And who played in the ruck for Abers yesterday ?

Watched the second half. Avondale Heights should have won by 15 goals. Ball entering inside 50 was coming in with minimal pressure and without Rose would have resulted in goal conversions with other forward options. Still would have been a shalacking without Rose. Was near Marby bench and Jack was carrying on and arguing with bench. Marby better hope that weak club wins Div 1 as they will be a candidate to go down at end of next year unless they stop spiral. If you think that AH are a one man show, you must be reading stats and not watching game.

How did we go against Keilor on the weekend THRU DA LINES , your a good judge NOT!!!!!
Worry about your team Pal!!

G'day Mick
Let me 1st say I don't think AH will make the finals either and don't really care as I don't think they are a serious threat, but I find it amusing when you say a team is "gone" , coming from someone who's team is absolutley stuffed. This will be Brodie's last year, Jack won't hang around and the players you've recruited aren't A Grade standard. $$$'s dried up and so has the performances. Back to B Grade cellar dwellars within 2 years. Must be hurting you seeing the 2 blues slaying the competition

How did we go against Keilor last weekend?
A bit quite Pal , no posts run out of things to say!!

Plenty of rain tonight with more to come. Plenty of hard wet weather footy tomorrow! Wonder who will adapt and wonder if there will be a few upsets in another great round of EDFL looming. Keilors ground was already a bog tonight and im sure they will be happy getting the ground redone in the off season and interesting to know where they will be playing next year whilst the refurb is done, can anyone confirm wether it will be a 12 month job? Lets hope they get it flat at least.

Keep in mind it's the Brimbank council doing it
Lets hope it's nothing like the Taylor's lakes experience
It's only meant to be the summer but who knows
