Just wondering how long Greenvale can stay at the top. I know their budget is big, but over the next 2-3 years they are going to loose players such as Rohan, Lenne, Bicer, Bloomfield, Aloi, Kuret, M. Smith, D. Smith and Jorgenson. As much as they have money there are some quality players there. Most of those guys are 29+
We all remember how successful Keilor were and once there stalwarts retired they have struggled since. Could the same thing happen to Greenvale.

That's true but they guys I have mentioned are greenvale's favorite sons. The same can't be said about the pekes x 2 and Randello. Bloomfield, Lenne, Rohan and D smith all played in the first A grade premiership 10 years ago. Along with the burns brothers they have been the backbone of this team for 10 yrs. it will be a bigger hole to fill when they all retire. Are the juniors coming through as good as the 6 junior players I have just mention

Of course I was just using it as an example, I remember people thinking it was the end of an era at that point.
Will the younger boys be good enough to cover the loss of those you mentioned? Only time will tell but I wouldn't bet against it.

Interesting, a few people I know involved down at Sunbury have questioned whether he's a liability or not.

Also believe Aberfeldie inquired of his availability, and this was done well before the finals had kicked off

On a seperate note I believe Dean Galea has yet to commit to any club and has spoken to a Northern Football League club recently.

Also heard Airport West throwing a fair bit of coin around, believe a couple of premiership players from another league have virtually signed

On the subject of Greenvale - Certainly one of the leading Metro clubs and I think running a very sustainable football club. Strong juniors and you dont continously get players drafted into AFL systems if your not focused on juniors. Just watching from a local footy sense they recruit to their needs and not just big names.

Mate - Your club set excessive player payments (above value) years ago that teams can't match. Too highlight Keilor for poor form is ridiculous as I am sure these blokes wish to play at highest level still & perhaps have respect for the Keilor FC to continue to do so.

Why would Milne play local football for say $50,000 when he could have gone for another year (St Kilda didn't ask him to retire) and make around $250,000-$350,000. He also lives on the other side of town. On top of this, there are the issues that you state. It is surely silly season

Coz the coach that he is playing for has had a very big impact on his life and he would like to play for him

Which club is Eric Kuret going to? Woorinen would make sense as his premiership team mate from Balranald is the coach there

It was Woorinen that Eric was linked to, he denies it though.
Jolly has always said he'd end up back at Lexton once he was finished at a higher level, the money on offer in Melbourne may be enough to turn his head however.

Horwood has been reappointed. Some of the senior players at Sunbury not too pleased about it. Tipping the likes of Cheep and the ruckmen Carris will be on a few EDFL clubs radars now. Was told he was reappointed last week. Seems like a good coach so not surprised clubs were talking to him.

Another great signing by Avondale Heights with Luke Cartelli joining Ghazi from Keilor. He will be joined by Mick Tanner from Moonee Valley and be reunited with other Williamstown team mates at the Heights.

Great recruiting by Avondale and in particular Saade.

Spoke to an old fella from port and he was saying the Heidelberg had offered him a small fortune. Players can get out of contract so long as money hasn't changed hands.
