Turbo. You'd be forced in the fire. I don't think I'd be far behind in a douttas hoodie after the events passed by.
Maybe we can sing our theme song in there rooms again after they lose ??

Hey Canplay, I'm more concerned about getting whacked from behind down there, than getting pushed into the fire. Lol
"just couldn't help myself" haha

I think the Keilor could still manage to rattle Abers tomorrow and take out the Flag.

Has anyone heard many movements of players around the league with the Points and salary cap definitely being enforced in 2017? Can't see how top 4 teams could field their best 22 next year at the same time. There would have to be a shuffle of the lists.

Opinions would be appreciated

doubt salary cap will be in next year...

Will be impossible to police unless the payments are being lodged.. Do the generous donors to the local footy clubs write this expense off to offset tax?? If so then perhaps some scrutiny of this might make it easier.

I heard that it's a certainty EDFL salary cap will be $250k which will be a problem across the top 4 - 5 clubs
EDFL applied for the cap to be set at $250k but (correct me if I'm wrong) is yet to be approved by AFL Victoria?
Nearly all other leagues have set there's much lower by 50-100k so interesting to see if it gets approved
At 250k I can't see it being to big of an issue all clubs knew it was coming in and would have planned accordingly and still gives an average wage per game of just over $600!

Who cares how much they get paid. Points system levels the playing field , salary cap is pure crap ! Players should get as much payment as they can , good luck to them as long as clubs stay under the points system !

Agree 100% but unfortunately doesn't matter what we think the cap is coming in

I read on website that the salary cap won't be monitored by AFL Victoria in 2017 but will be left up to the leagues (EDFL) to work with the clubs on whatever the amount is - $250k perhaps. This is because players may have signed a 2 year contract at the start of 2016 the ends at season ends 2017. For this reason, AFL Victoria will not enforce the penalties proposed in season 2017 but will introduce them in for season 2018.

How they will monitor or police the player payments has been asked on here and I don't know the answer either. Heaven help a side though that does get caught out paying overs because the penalties are very harsh. Not dis-similar to what happened to Carlton when they handed out too many brown paper bags! Besides the fines involved but instead of draft exemptions, it is off to Division 2 for the club caught!

On coaching matters, any news on SM or GV?

If AFL clubs can successfully rort the salary cap what chance do local comps have of policing zero in my opinion. The points system cannot be manipulated and is the best way to go.

Remember when juddy signed a lucrative deal with visy for promotional work when he joined carlton. I think i saw his picture on a vidy truck once, expensive photo session that one

Initially AFL Vic were going to police it with random audits. Not sure that is happening from the outset though.

Irrespective, I'd hate to be the first club caught cheating the system and dropping a couple of divisions. It's a long way back!

I think the smart clubs will all of a sudden start employing very smart creative accountants to ensure the "books balance" especially those who decide they want to run the gauntlet policing this cap is a minefield. I am 100% with Willow the points system can be policed and i believe it works well. Good luck to all involved today Abers, GV, Keilor for me today absolutely no logic to my tips just a guess in the big 1 will be a cracker game

Just curious if Maysie has applied?
Nathan Grima is a lock for the Strathmore job & Shannon Grant is off to St Kevin's after Greenvale tried to convince him to stay on for another season
Abers u18
Keilor 2nds
Abers seniors by 5 points after trying there best to kick themselves out of it

Not sure Grima is going to play at Strathmore next season. Yes I know the background but I'm told his not playing there and won't be playing EDFL next season. I guess we wait & see..
