Mick Mcguanes rain as 'best coach in local footy' is all but over

Anthony Rocks record speaks for himself. Showed his class firstly at Greenvale and now at St Bernards this year by taking them to the flag after the prelim last year.

3 flags in four years isn't bad

btw if any of you get a chance to watch the ammos grand final from the weekend, do yourself a favour. Many are calling it one of the greatest local football games of all time

He was working with one of the best teams in local footy at Greenvale. Went out in straight sets last season and then only scraped through this year with a team head and shoulders above the rest of Premier grade.

Very good coach but far from the best in local footy.

Lynch - Abers

History shows the umpires like giving him votes and with Abers winning every game convincingly you would suggest their players will get the majority of 3-2-1. As such, I'm going also going for an Abers player - Blackwell. He is another player who has a good record of polling well (WAFL).

Team of the year will be interesting, especially first ruck. Do the selectors go with Graham, Deluca or Browne? Will NCS underwhelming performances cost Nat from selection?

Won consecutive flags as the underdog with Greenvale and was widely considered to be the difference maker in those premierships.
He's then jumped across to a completely different brand of footy in the Ammos and success has followed.
Who would you list as being far better?

I think he is jealous that Anthony Rock has taken over McGuane's mantle.
You didn't mention he was the reason Albion won the flag in the WRFL the year before he went to Greenvale. Was probably unlucky didn't win 3/3 at Greenvale. His first year were extremely difficult as they didn't have a training ground with lights for the whole season

What did Anthony have to do with Albion as Harro was coaching Albion and bought a bit of sponsorship into the club. Just curious mate..

Rocky came on board at Albion during the 2010 season. He bought in the Hawthorn full ground press in Albion's 2010 premiership. I believe he was an assistant at the Hawks.

They were smashed both times by Spotswood during the home & away season and then turned the tables emphatically in the finals.

They were on paper a 6-8 goal worse side than Spotswood. But their 2nd half of the season improvement was almost entirely down to Rock's strategy and team discipline to the press. Harro may have led the troops but the pieces were being moved around by Rock.

Rock is a gun. Absolutely no doubt about it.

Not a bad summary the only thing you got wrong was he was an assistant at St kilda under Ross Lyon.

I hope he wins! great bloke, great clubman, great on mad Monday's
He also booked a table for 10 on Saturday night for his whole family, so I think he's pretty confident in taking it out!

Agree mate, I think Lynchy will win and win well. He always polls well, only finished 4 votes from Blakey last year and he's had a better season this year.

Plus, without sounding arrogant the reality is we'd probably get at least 5 of the 6 votes in most games? That could mean they take votes from each other though.

Blacky will be unlucky given the year he's had too.

Think Nat is going to struggle because he didn't play. He was injured all year.

The older of the Caruso boys seen at Raeburn Reserve recently. Also means where one could go the other will too. What points will they be worth to Pacco if they sign up, 4 at least for both? The Saints will hate losing them.

Paul Chapman new coach of Strathmore and if Stevie Johnson does not get picked up hearing he could also end up at Strathmore

No chance of Stevie J playing local footy, unless he played a 1 off game and even then I doubt it.
Clinnick still coaching there. But trying to use Chapman's name with recruiting which is fair enough.
Hearing Firitto staying at Nth for another year, and on form probably a good decision.
Strathmore very active in recruiting like most clubs.
