EDFL U16 2015

There are many things that the EDFL can be rightly criticized for, but stopping the Mothers Day between EDS & Abers isn't one of them. Looking through the fixtures for all age groups, there will still be games between these teams at every age group with the express intention of raising cancer awareness, they just won't be Div 1 teams. All this means is that other teams get to experience a big day and have the possibility of winning any BOG medals that may be on offer. I also wasn't aware of the Cancer Awareness aspect to the EDS v Abers game but hats off to both teams on a fantastic initiative.

Agree with one of the other posts that suggest a straight Greenvale\Westmeadows swap for the fixture continuity.

Fastandloose we have to disagree again. With your biased view that would mean it would be fine if the vfl collingwood vs essendon play next year on Anzac Day and the seniors don't meet. As previously stated I knew nothing of this Mother's Day game but since the original post I made some enquires with eds friends and in my opinion the edfl should hang their collective heads in shame.
Good to have you back FastandLoose.

Quelle surprise, you disagreeing with me. Have all previous Mothers Day clashes between the 2 teams been Div 1 teams only? Is there still an EDS v Abers game at every age group to raise cancer awareness? Which bias is it you think I have?

My friend told me div 1 but I cannot be sure. Don't get upset FastandLoose I'm having a lend of you.

So you just want to troll people without any substance to anything you post? Not what I thought this forum was about. Maybe best if you leave your childish trolling for other forums. If you were a friend of mine, I'd be asking you to pull your head in.

Childish trolling. I don't believe I was the one commenting to a kid about his spelling or stating another kid was timid. You have a short memory FastandLoose. Anyways back to footy. Any big outs this week??

The games aren't restricted to Div 1 - it is an initiative across both clubs, all age groups and divisions.

So games will be played for the Krikori / Toy shield. The winner of the Shield is the club with the most aggregate wins across all aged groups where Douttas and Abers play. 10.4, 12.5, 14.4 & 16.3

It is not so much that it isn't being played for but the fact that via some recognition of what the clubs are doing more games between Douttas and Abers could have been played and therefore more people are involved and the message reaches more families.

As it is 4 games will be played between Douttas and Abers across the groups but two games 16.1 and 14.1 wont but would have been able with active fixture management

So 80 kids and 80 families will miss hearing the story, the education etc.

Footy clubs come under a lot of fire on these posts for not doing the right thing for kids, community, bad examples etc so a chance for both clubs to spread more good intent is being missed.......

Thanks fevolution for the history, very informative and a great way of looking at it.
You have swayed me back to agreeing with the edfl.

So you've had 3 posts to backup your claim of bias but haven't been able to. Leaves you with no credibility at all.

C'mon FastandLoose I didn't think a person of your great wisdom could be so easily got to. Life's ok, you don't need to be so angry. Let's talk footy!! Make sure you say hello when we cross paths.

Let's Talk Footy indeed...
Would like to see how Keilor and West Coburg go after losing to their opponents pretty comfortably back in round one
Might be seeing a few upsets?
Overall four close games, unsure of how westy will go after their first junior run in div 1 in 10 years
I'm guessing a few boys will be out after the vic metro trial game on Saturday, could be an interesting weekend, I know I'll be up at Keilor should be a really fierce-some match up looking forward to it.

Who says you've got to me? You've proven yourself to be a complete tool is all you've done. As for meeting strange men in strange places, that's definitely for another forum.

EDS, Abers and Keilor will be short of bodies with all 3 having big representation at Vic u16 on Saturday then Vic u15 on Sunday. West Coburg, Craigieburn, Strathmore and EDS to win. Just had an SMS from an Abers player saying that Consiglio is in intensive care and has had brain surgery. Best wishes to Cigs and his family at this difficult time.

At least you still have your humour FastandLoose. Should be a very interesting round and hopefully westmeadows perform well. Hopefully all the vic metro boys go well in both u/15 and 16's and come through the game uninjured. Also good luck to greenvale in div2. Hopefully they can start to rebuild and get back to the powerhouse they once were.
Good luck to all the boys on the weekend.

All friendly banter aside, as FastandLoose mentioned all the best to sigs and his family. Our thoughts are with you.

I've heard and seen a few people bagging Moonee Valley U16's for not being promoted.

My understanding is the Moonee Valley U16's did not go up because there are only just enough registered players for one side (and as we know as winter unfolds there are always 2 to 4 not available each week) PLUS a big batch of them are only 1st year players while WestMeadows and a lot of the other Div 2 sides are older aged players AND have enough Registered players to field two teams.

Pause for a moment and reflect.....is it a good idea to send a side with no depth in numbers and a big batch of 1st year players into A Grade? Even Greenvale who have come down are fielding two sides while the big Power clubs are fielding three sides.....lets be realistic before bagging Moonee Valley.

It's like asking a VFL side to compete in the AFL.

As it is I'm tipping as the Season unfolds and they get a few injuries and the Ground gets softer they will be hunted down by some of the other Clubs with more older boys and a much bigger pool to select from.

I think Moonee Valley should be congratulated for being such a strong Div 2 side when they are competing against much bigger Lists and sides who are generally mostly 2nd year boys.

For a small club they had 2 players drafted to the AFL last year....not bad going.

Well done Valley.

I don’t believe anyone is bagging Moonee Valley for not getting promoted? Infact, it seems we have all moved on from that. I just hope you didn’t create a bigfooty account just to post this message?

Blueboys1996 welcome. Must admit sherrin4lyf you had me chuckling to myself. I for one agree that MV stay in div 2 so they can have more wins than losses and hopefully in turn have more players return next year. I hope I am not going somewhere I am not welcome but is there any news on Sigs?

went to u16 metro country game today. All edfl boys came through well. Hannah marked everything, Rayner strong and neat, Caluzzi classy and prolific, Podhajski busy ,Hitch worked hard and got good numbers. Balta did some good things but not Mo,s best game.

Thanks haveago, I didn't go as that annoying pastime (work) got in the way today. I spoke with a person who was there and heard In a roundabout way what you have said.
Cam r very tough and clean.
Noah b handy around the ground
Ben c as per Cam r comments.
Hitch- well it's Hitch, so no comment needed(star)
Mo a little quiet for his high standards
Daniel H quiet start but took some good marks
Mitch P very reliable and clean.
All that said happy to see they all got through without injury.
