Eerily similar to mine

So hard to argue with much

Lindsay i dont rate so id be surprised if hawks go that high on him, but i did have GWS taking not long after aswell

Eagle fans i reckon will say with CDT they dont need another tall fwd, but maybe hes just that much the best talent.

CDT
A.Reid
B.Williams
J.Williams

Then the locked Waterman and Shanahan

Theyd say midfielder Pou instead id say

Love the Max Ko climb

The depth of where guys like Onley, Holmes, C.Curtin, Swadling, Thredgold,K.Evans, Greeves, Nairn, NHH are landing here tells me the depth is nor here nor there for their spots compared to previous drafts

Great effort mate. I think the Tiges have an extra rookie spot there if your phantom pans out?

Wonder if so how that works if we gotta take Kellaway at that pick 2 or if we can take him at the other.
Nah with 38 on the main list Kellaway takes tigers rookie list to 4 which is the maximum.

The point of the exercise is a list balance draft rather than going for exact accuracy with players taken more the roles taken. I have CDT down as a ruck to fill the spot needed there and Schubert for the forward spot. The club by club summary and reasonings are on RMC where I did the article but plan to put all that out in its own thread when I’m feeling up to it.

No way the eagles take CDT and Schubert and no mid. Dov, barker poo or Addinsall would be 15 if the first 2 are as is. Personally, I hope they just take sharp at 2 and then take what falls into pick 15

Any intel from sources/media rumours in the phantom? Or pure analytical this club needs this and that’s the player that’s ranked highest and closest to what they need?

No intel it’s basically just analytical as you say and using my own judgment on the talent.

This is a list balance exercise, Eagles started the year with 8 centre mids and are going into 2026 with 8 centre mids already. There are two spots available for the wing but maybe one of those 8 centre mids move to a wing which allows a spot for a centre mid to be drafted? This whole thing is done to try and match the 2025 list for 2026 and making sure each position remains the same

I’ve got 34 currently including the addition of Retschko & upgrade of Seth Campbell from RL.

Picks 3, 4 & 38 brings it to 37.

Lefau, Tresize & Gray still on the rookie list.

So that’s 37 & 3. We either go Kellaway late in ND which allows us to take pick 2 to in RD to make it 38 & 4 or we keep 37 on main list and add 1 rookie & Kellaway?

Actually yeah your right, glad I have all the lists already written down to confirm these things 😂

Personally i dont think clubs are taking a planned ruck at 2 anymore

Id say thats fallback plan D before E which is being delisted

As much as i think Duursma is aimed to be a genuine mid, i think they can still add a guy like Pou there

We don't have 8 legit centre mids🤣

If we did, we wouldn't be last in the comp for ground balls, contested, post clearance contested, clearances.

Yeo is cooked
Harley sure
Hewitt good signs
Gross maybe
Kelly is pure outside now
Graham stop gap
Hough tagger only
Hall ??
Bo Allen maybe
Baker pinch hit

I mean really it's pathetic.

The exercise doesn’t really factor in the quality just the amount 😂 this was hard work as it is to do let alone trying to factor that in aswell lol

And is 3 years time

Yeo, Kelly, Harley, Baker, Graham arent in there much

I know everyone likes Ginbey back, but thats an easier position to replace and thought he was solid learning in years 1 and 2. He was always going to take time. In 3-5 years time id say hes a midfielder again. Id like to see it almost next year tbh

Eagle fans hate that, but at worst hes Dunkley

I think both view points are pretty reasonable here. Love your work and given your stated logic of matching lists for positions no one can fault you, but I think there’d be an absolute uproar if the eagles walked away with no midfielder from any pick. Not a reflection of you, love your work nonetheless mate

More like at absolute best. Hes best suited for the time being being able to impact the game with his athleticism and absolute dog mentality. He won’t be able to use that in midfield any time soon considering he has no clue or skill regarding the position. Would be a miracle imo if he ends up as a full time mid in the next 5 years

Don't get me wrong. Love the work. Amazing list analysis, but the elephant in the room isn't what we lost, it's what we never had since the 18 granny....a competitive midfield.

Yeah I can see it but that’s what I find fascinating about doing this, imagine if Eagles do exactly as I theorise and the supporters do burn the place down 😂

This was an issue I always knew was coming from supporters, it’s not meant to make supporters happy more to stick to a theme and go all out with it

I mean hopefully Duursma and Banfield can potentially become stars along with Reid in there. I would hope the club doesn’t give up on Bo Allan playing as a major midfielder aswell.

With 4 extra rookie picks you might just buck the list trend I’ve done anyway and take best talent available early

Hes already done 2 years there at the absolute toughest period in his career, did some solid shutdown roles

His power, size, strength, speed, accountability is just suited there

You can find Stewart, Zuthrie, Sicily, Battle, Jsos, Hough, Maynards, Lesters, Wilkies, Rampes, Scrimshaws, Luke Ryans, H.Himmelberg, W.Powell, Grimes, D.Turner, Keane types either far deeper in the draft, swap from fwds to defs or get for dirt cheap trades

Not the same for the best mids in the game that are ~190

Bont, Trac, Noah, Ed Richards, Cripps, Cerra, Pendles, Danger, Rayner, Fyfe, Dusty, Green, Finn C ect

Anyway knew it would derail and shouldnt have gone there

Sharp really does fit in perfectly with
Harley , Hewitt , Duursma , Sharp

Do you see Harry Scott fitting in there somewhere ?
Potentially, I should have added Blamires somewhere aswell as it’s likely he gets taken but wanted to focus more on the draft age talent

Youd have to think crows and power start to really consider a move for Schubert at 15/16
I could see Port but Crows have enough tall forwards on the list already.
