Not many elite kicks in that range so you may have to settle for the the best available, McLennan is a neat kick but he is in the Hurn mould still, i wouldnt say there are many later in the draft. Perhaps Durak Tucker or Noah Answerth could get a look late.

Duurmsa i feel is a solid kick without being elite, i dont have any concerns on his kicking.
I've really liked Stefan Radovanovic when I've seen him play, I could see him slotting into a Shannon Hurn type role? Like Hurn built like a brick outhouse albeit a little taller and kicking looked OK when I've seen him play. I was hoping the Crows might take a look at him but we'll likely be only using 3 or 4 picks. I don't think it's out of the question he could also play some midfield with his big body, strength and aggression?

Fogarty played 15 games for Geelong.
FOG was actually a great inside MID during his time in the U18 comp...
Wasn't really a small forward in the true sense. But was played there more due to not having a pressure presence in the 50m arc.
He will move into the midfield this year with another pre season & year in the gym IMO.
He'll be a GUN for us P_O

Decision making is the main issue for Radovanovic, I like his athletic attributes and I wouldn’t mind taking him as a rookie.

Agree with that although i was referring to the poster's question about drafted pressure forwards getting early games as Fogarty was the leading pressure player in the TAC Cup last year.

Yeah fair enough...
But a lot of people think he was a small forward when actually he was a midfielder that due to circumstance had to play that role for us.
Can't wait until he gets more time in the centre.
Cheers!

Doing something different with my phantom draft which will come tomorrow, i wont be using any sort of hearsay or accuracy more so what i believe each team should pick for this years draft.

- Bids will come where i feel they should i wont even factor in if that club would bid on them or not

- This Phantom will include the whole national draft, i might need to do my research on how many picks clubs will actually take into the draft but if anyone wants to just tell me outright that would be appreciated

- I wont factor in live trading

- No mature age players will be selected (19 year olds allowed), my knowledge comes from watching under 18 games and i feel its unfair to judge them along side the mature players.

- The picks will show as a normal table with my reasoning for players taken being included in a club by club summary

Looking forward to this and the criticism to follow :p

There is a recent afl.com.au article on the number of picks each club will take. As good a source as any.

Brisbane are taking 5 picks to the draft.

Clubs stated need has always been continue to build midfield depth and run from the back line, with speed being emphasised.

With our trade period, outside run might be more a focus than inside grunt, and of course finding a Beams replacement.

We also need a replacement for Hodge.

Used to be that our top draft pick would be almost guaranteed a start in the team. Probably not now, unless they’re something special.

Yeah ive seen it but not sure how much changes once bids come in and picks are taken away, Swans and Collingwood may have alot of picks but thats because they need them for bids, they may only take Quaynor and Kelly and pass on the late selections they get back

I think that was about how many actual players will get picked up. Live picks taken in is (40 minus current list spots). So those two bits of info should be all you need.

A number of clubs actually only pick up 38 players.
Yes that's true. The 40 player thing just relates to the academy matching rule which limits live picks to spare list spots.

So the best work out a realistic draft is to:
  1. Take the indicative draft order
  2. Work out how many players each team has on their senior list, including those who have been been told they will be upgraded from the rookie list. If this is 35 for example, then that club has 5 live selections.
  3. Remove any selections for each club above the number of live picks they have.
  4. Use the afl.com.au article to assess the likely number of players taken in the draft. for example, academy clubs may have 6 live picks but the article says they will take 3 players.

Just going over my selections and i have a feeling a few supporters wont be happy with their selections, this should be fun.
I just can't wait for the "X team doesn't have Pick Y, team Z does" because people don't understand bid matching
