Interested as the why do you assess Oakleigh and Dandenong as being ahead of Sandringham?

There’s only been two rounds of the season. Isn’t it a bit early to claim which program is a stand out?
Obviously, yes, but I watched a lot of footy (TAC) last year and am aware of the quality of the bottom agers coming in this year. I just rated them higher. Dandenong were very impressive on Friday.

Interesting.

IMO player development from Nov 2017 to Sept 2018 determines which program is likely to reach the pointy end, and not so much a talent assessment of bottom age players in 2017.

Each to their own however.

It’s a pity Dandenong don’t meet either Oakleigh or Sandringham anywhere near full strength until late August.

Me too - given it remains the provider of roughly half of each national/rookie draftees, I’m surprised there’s a low
interest level in it as a competition.

Anyhow, Happy Easter everyone. Plenty of chocolate eggs and no hamstring strains today.
I don’t know how we install more passion in tac.
Greater media coverage and tac clubs communicating and interacting better with local clubs would be a start.

Max King kicked 8 for Sandy on saturday DPS - can you see him providing Lukosius with any competition for #1 pick without Lukosius dipping? (As in, Lukosius keeps up current pace, King does the chasing).

Well I still have Max King as my number 1 so in the end it will be up to whoever has that pick at the end of the year to make that decision. Still early days I feel we will get a better idea of who will be favoured for that pick after the champs

I have updated my top 50 with a few new faces, not many major changes, top 10 remains unchanged.

Will get a look at some of the interstate players for the first time this year when i go to watch the academy vs VFL game on Saturday.

love the rolling draft.

Alot of moving parts.
Imagine having all 3 Hills at Freo and getting Carter later, now that’s some bloody excitement haha

Yeah it’s nothing serious in the early going just a way of getting a few names out there and trying to put my recruiter cap on for each club

:( If Brisbane were to miss out on Tom Berry, I was looking for Brisbane to double down on Geelong Falcon boys. Walsh & McHenry.
Was debating between McHenry and Joyce for that pick both are very similar players but i went the best available in my view which was Joyce, has a touch more class

Will Izak Rankine be allowed to play given he's currently serving a 3 week SANFL suspension for striking??

Why wouldn’t he? It’s just a scratch match isn’t it?
Who knows, we'll find out when the team's named I guess, Lukosius. Hately and Munn are all outs in the SANFL selected sides due to AFL Academy commitments, Rozee is yet to play this season so not sure what's up there? Injured?

When was the last time as tall as Max King went #1?

The team has never been “named” as far as I’m aware. It’ll just be all the Academy Level 2 guys who aren’t injured running around against the North VFL. I’m sure Rankine will get a run.

OK so ..realistically ... can we see him going earlier than what 2mp went? Clubs tend to rate how long a player will take into the pick they use. Considering the talent available.. closer to 10 than 1.
I’d rate King a better talent than 2mp in his draft year. I look at King as another Daniher so I see him as a pick 1 caliber player that you could build a forwardline around.

I think Schache will contribute to more talls slidding... Talls just seem to take longer.. and clubs want return from those early picks. Geelong has not had a pick earlier than 7 for 28 years... can you imagine if we had finally got one and used on Schache.

I quite like the Kings ...would suit our needs and there is slim to now chance for a finals team to use their natural pick to get Max.. but I really doubt those bottom teams would use their pick on him. Who do you feel would be a good fit of him.

Pies and Blues could definitely use him. Unlike Scache in his draft year Max King has shown a hard edge in his game, he doesn’t mind tackling hard and getting into the opposition. He screams gun forward to me and anyone who needs a key forward in the top 5 would be kicking themselves if they passed on him and he became someone like Daniher or Hipwood
