I’m talking about guys who are under 175cm and not overally athletic. Ablett is 182cm and treloar is 181cm for starters.Treloar, Neale, Ablett, [PLAYERCARD]Brent Harvey[/PLAYERCARD], Sam Mitchell, Prestia, Merrett, Rowell (ok, too early, but he will make it)
If anything, I think this shows just how unclear the drafting rules and regulations areI didn't know that.
Interesting, pie4life posted this:
"8.8 Father/Son Rookie Pre-Selection (a) Subject to Rule 8.8(b), where an eligible Father/Son Player has been nominated in accordance with Rule 8.4(b) and is not selected at a National Draft or PreSeason Draft Selection Meeting, the Club with whom he is eligible as a 57 Father/Son Player may include him on its Rookie List prior to the Rookie Draft Selection Meeting in accordance with Rule 10.4."
I am intrigued by the word "may include him on its Rookie List prior to the Rookie Draft Selection Meeting in accordance with Rule 10.4."

A good chance Phillips and Campbell end up in the top five. Of the other five, McDonald, JUH and Hollands most likely to go top three. If Crows don't pick Thilthorpe, he could sneak outside the top five (but could also go to the Hawks). Of that group, he and DGB are probably the most likely to slip out, Thilthorpe given the injuries is one tipped to be overlooked for those top few.eDPS Pie 4 Life Firstly, great work on the draft guide, I haven’t finished it yet but there is an unbelievable amount of work that has gone into this, so well done to all involved.
I was immediately fascinated by your draft range of 2-5 for Will Phillips. Prior to reading the guide, I felt he was likely to drop to pick 6 or 7 (with a draft range of 4-8), with the top 5 (in no particular order) likely to be:
McDonald
Ugle-Hagan
Hollands
Grainger-Barrass
Thilthorpe
I then felt Phillips and Campbell would be the most likely picks at 6 and 7 (again in no particular order).
Just wondering if there’s any intel on one or two of North, Sydney or the Hawks looking seriously at Phillips, because it would have to be one of them taking him if he was to go inside the top 5 (unless there’s a blockbuster live trade).
Cheers

This should be enough of an indicator that Adelaide should NOT take Thilthorpe. I you're right about him sliding, so there are chances for the Crows to trade up from 9 to get him later.A good chance Phillips and Campbell end up in the top five. A couple of those teams are seriously considering Phillips. Not as much North, but certainly the other two. The news is constantly changing, but once we put it all together we will have a Phantom Draft which could well settle down the order from our side of things.
Personaly I think Thilthorpe to the Crows at number 1 is pretty much locked in.This should be enough of an indicator that Adelaide should NOT take Thilthorpe. I you're right about him sliding, so there are chances for the Crows to trade up from 9 to get him later.
What I see is they have the potential to derail this draft a bit if clubs leave spots open for during the year. I am not a fan of these rules as they take the edge of the current draft, particularly where the nuggets of gold can be found further down the list. Does anyone know what sort of contract these players would be offered, could we have another Cody Hirst scenario here?
Yeah i think Hawthorn is the wildcard. I'm interested to see what the Hawks do, but if he's left by the Roos and particularly Hawks, then I see him getting past Gold Coast. Perhaps tabling a deal of 9 + say a swap of picks next year for 5, then there's a chance he's there. Both those picks will be a couple later due to JUH and likely Campbell, but still. This should be enough of an indicator that Adelaide should NOT take Thilthorpe. Hey guys,
Firstly, well done. You guys are getting a lot of positive feedback and clearly worked very hard on this.
Secondly, is there a link on which a can read it. I may have missed it on a previous post?

What height range are these guys?Treloar, Neale, Ablett, [PLAYERCARD]Brent Harvey[/PLAYERCARD], Sam Mitchell, Prestia, Merrett, Rowell (ok, too early, but he will make it)
Ablett the tallest at 182.What height range are these guys?
Don’t know why you included ablett at 182Ablett the tallest at 182.
Are you sure its a typo?Great work with the draft guide, I just want to point out that in Blake Coleman's section it says "forward crap" instead of "forward craft".
Given its listed under "strengths", probably. Are you sure its a typo?

Why don't you use Prestia then. B&F in a premiership team. Zorko is ordinary.Because zorko is one of the few short players that has made it in the midfield at afl level. Most guys at his height who are midfielders at underage level have to either move to defence or the forward line to get games.
Zorko is hardly ordinary, was a very good player in a poor side for so long. If he played for a victorian club he'd get a lot more plaudits. He's a 4x bnf winner and all australian. I think more people compare smaller players with Zorko is because he did it the hard way and was probably overlooked because of his height so he had to toil in the state leagues for a couple of seasons to get his chance, he made his afl debut at 23. Whereas Prestia was always seen a gun and taken top 10 in his draft year, which is rare for someone of his height that was purely a midfielder. But given he was taken so high he was always going to be given the opportunity to play in the midfield, a lot of smaller guys are not afforded the same opportunities and often have to recreate themselves as a small forward/back.Why don't you use Prestia then. B&F in a premiership team. Zorko is ordinary.
Zorko has 4 B&Fs and 1 AA, by your criteria the likes of Gary Ablett Snr, [PLAYERCARD]Tony Lockett[/PLAYERCARD], Nathan Buckley, Robert Harvey and Nick Riewoldt are ordinary because they never won a B&F in a premiership team.... or even played in a premiership team. Why don't you use Prestia then. B&F in a premiership team. Zorko is ordinary.
Reckon you could organise a couple of those "ordinary" Zorko types for the Crows? Why don't you use Prestia then. B&F in a premiership team. Zorko is ordinary.
Nah he's just REALLY good at going on the runGiven its listed under "strengths", probably.
