Ford.
Baldwin.
Thilthorpe.
Gadsby.

A guy can’t be accused of being greedy can they.

I’m sure the list grows.

Maybe another South Aussie in Schreiber if he is to improve.
Yeah, Thilthorpe is at the top of my wanted list for Brisbane.

Not sure how we manage that, as I can’t see him sliding past Adelaide or Sydney (which ever finishes in the bottom 3 or 4).

I haven’t seen Baldwin, and an ACL does concern.

If we go a tall with our first (Port) pick, I wouldn’t mind Eddie Ford at our natural pick, especially if he has the scope to play on a wing in our system.

Probably wrote my harshest summary for a player yet and from an Academy Hub player no less, I try to focus on the positives more often than not as I know some players and families will read stuff like this sometimes but think I just need to give my honest opinion in this case

If the word 'useless' isn't involved is it really that harsh?

I wouldn’t go that far haha, I might still bring it down a bit before I release it. I like to be constructive when it comes to younger players as I’ve done some coaching myself and really want to see young players make the most of their opportunities, feedback always means more in person so most feedback I leave here for players won’t go down as well.

how many prospects do you think would be on here?

No idea but word of mouth from friends and family can get players looking same as coaches aswell.

I don’t want a lot of them taking things the wrong way, the intent I have in what I say about players here is coming from a critical standpoint as this is what the thread is all about but I don’t want to be critical for the hell of it.

Intrigued to see what you’ve said, hopefully you don’t scale it back

Fair enough, you're in a more tricky spot than most I'd assume with what you say online having the chance to impact on interview opportunities and the like right? Or am I bumbling nonsense

Well yeah of course but I’ve said some pretty stupid things on here so I can only beat around the bush so much haha

I most likely will

What were the comments based on? Chances of making it at the next level/ scope or effort etc etc
A little from every column really, will be up on Monday think I’ll leave it at that

Was going alphabetically but Sandringham and Oakleigh will take me a bit longer

Western Jets 2020

Eddie Ford (AH)
188cm 79kg
Forward
DR: 10-25

Strengths
Vertical Leap
Overhead Marking
Forward Craft
Upside
Skills
Agility

Queries
Consistency
Finishing at goal

- Ford does his best work leading at the ball, taking grabs and moving the play quickly, was set to spend more time as a midfielder and some good form there could have him go higher, consistency is the biggest issue he has faced so far

Cody Raak (AH)
191cm 77kg
Defender
DR: 45-Late

Strengths
Composure
Clean hands
Skills
Balance
Upside

Queries
Production
Size
Consistency

- Raak has great skills and a smooth mover but played 2nd fiddle to Cassar last year so couldn’t go all out as a rebounder, Western see him as a key defender but at 191cm it will be difficult for him to play that role at AFL level

Lucas Failli
170cm 73kg
Forward
DR: Late

Strengths
Tackling
Forward Craft
Clean hands
Speed
Balance

Queries
Size
Production

- Usually you would laugh of even considering a player of Failli’s size but times have been changing with the likes of Daniels, Tipungwuti and Daniel and he has caught the eye having played in a metro futures game last year and playing pretty well in that game and looked very promising for the rest of the year playing Nab League

Come on!.. I’ve waited for days for your review on Oakleigh. And it gets skipped....
Hey come on they have way more players than anyone for me to do haha, here is a list of said players for now

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan
Will Phillips
Reef McInnes
Bailey Laurie
Finlay Macrae
Connor Stone
Sam Tucker
Maurice Rioli Jr
Dylan Thomas
Fraser Elliot
Lochlan Jenkins

Northern Knights 2020

Nikolas Cox (AH)
199cm 82kg
Key Defender
DR: 10-25

Strengths
Overhead marking
Versatility
Football smarts
Upside
Clean hands
Dual sided

Queries
Consistency
Production

- There isnt a lot of weaknesses to Cox and going of his practise match he was in for a big year, went head to head with Ugle-Hagan and competed really well while also proving rebound, I minor nitpick would be that he can bite of more than he can chew at times

Liam McMahon (AH)
194cm 80kg
Key Forward
DR: 25-50

Strengths
Overhead marking
Vertical Leap
Skills
Upside
Agility
Speed
Clean hands

Queries
Consistency
Production

- McMahon is one of the best clunkers in the draft, he has an elite leap aswell so when he goes for the ball he is hard to stop, still learning his craft as a forward he has plenty of upside

Jackson Bowne
174cm 70kg
Small Forward
DR: 45-Late

Strengths
Forward Craft
Speed
Agility
Clean hands
Upside

Queries
Production
Tackling pressure

- Bowne is 1 day away from being eligible for the 2021 draft so still has a lot more maturity and growth to his game. Moves well and has a low centre of gravity which makes him well balanced and hard to tackle, could become a Devon Smith type if he can work on the defensive side of his game

Liam Kolar
195cm 82kg
Key Forward
DR: 45-Late

Strengths
Endurance
Speed
Upside
Overhead marking
Skills

Queries
Production
Consistency

- Hasn’t played many games coming from an athletics/soccer background but in limited viewings his showed some real eye catching traits so there is plenty of upside and whether he gets picked up this year I’m sure clubs will have him in their sights to see how he develops

Heath Ramshaw
181cm 85kg
Defender/Midfielder
DR: Late

Strengths
Contested game
Skills
Tackling
Clean hands
Power
Composure

Queries

Production
Athleticism

- A real big impresser for me in the practise match I saw, relishes the hard and quick style of footy and can go midfield and down back and do equally well in both, is a great kick and would like to see him kick more

Ewan Macpherson
179cm 82kg
Midfielder/Defender
DR: Late

Strengths
Endurance
Tackling

Upside
Speed

- Macpherson burst onto the seen as captain of Vic Metro in the under 16s, playing mostly as a composed defender last year he was set to play as an inside midfielder this year as he did in practise matches, doesn’t look to have the upside and eye-catching traits as others but is dependable with ball in hand

Practise match impressers
Joel Trudgeon
Rhys Seakins
Mackenzie Hogg

Bit of a random comment but..

Ewan is Darcy's bro right?
I see most of Darcy's attributes in both Strengths and Weaknesses as listed for Ewan as well. I feel as if Darcy's best attributes are his tenacity and desire to give 110% in everything he does on field and it is this that makes him a legit AFL player.

Do you see any of this with Ewan? Obviously some attributes between siblings are shared - ie. contested marking with the Kings, elite speed and endurance with the Hills, endurance Phillips' bros. Do you think that tenacity, desire etc.. can be an attribute shared with a sibling?

Does Ford have the scope to play wing in the Lions system. i.e. a contested side to his game, and discipline.

Ford loves a contest, no problem there. Plays tall and short, inside and outside. Can play the role his team requires of him.

Ewan has been noted to have some good leadership traits as he captained Metros 16s, think he won’t leave any stones unturned but I don’t think I’ve seen him really show manic tenacity yet but he might have it in him.
