Ive had a go at making the teams for Vic Metro/Country, Country losing a few like Gribble and Hollands hurts their overall depth, a few unlucky for Metro and not just emergencies. Ive kept bottom agers out as i feel they wont include them if we dont get a NAB League season and just a championships.

Yes.

But you haven’t updated your pretty awesome spreadsheet.
Wanted to wait till I re-watched a lot of footage and I’d update my rankings at the same time, the way it’s looking I should just update this week anyway since it’s gonna take me a lot longer than I thought to watch and write for individual players haha

See my rankings changing drastically over the coming months as I go through old footage. I’ll have an update out tomorrow and expect some surprises with the main one being a another key defender being rated higher than Denver Grainger-Barras.

Last year only 3 players outside of the AFL Academy Hub where drafted

Weightman
Philp
Schoenberg

Will be harder for those types to get drafted this year but my potential 3 that could push into contention outside of hubs

Fraser Rosman
Luke Cleary
Harry Sharp

love the Heath Chapman advancement, i have been going over my list and watched more of Heath and he is much further up from my last list too, and Zane trew has jumped up a touch on mine as well, not as high as yours but i do love some of your changes.

Depth is looking pretty good for this draft, plenty I still really like on the cusp, can’t begrudge anyone having others in their top 20. This is a list of players on the edge of my top 25 and it’s another 25 players if you don’t mind and only counting Academy players

Dominic Bedendo
Cody Brand
Jack Carroll
Jackson Callow
Jackson Cardillo
Bailey Chamberlain
Blake Coleman
Oliver Davis
Connor Downie
Zac Dumesny
Corey Durdin
Luke Edwards
Cameron Fleeton
Clayton Gay
Finn Gorringe
Errol Gulden
Joel Jeffrey
Charlie Lazzaro
Zavier Maher
Liam McMahon
Carter Michael
Shannon Neale
Wil Parker
Caleb Poulter
Josh Treacy

eDPS what have you liked from Cox on your recent re-watches that has seen him jump up? Was the practice match a big contributing factor or is there something else you have noticed on your latest viewings?

A mixture of everything really and weighing him up against other talls, he really doesn’t have many weaknesses to speak of and even the weaknesses i listed before are very nit picky. He has height, athleticism, skills, smarts and versatility so he is the perfect project for a club and looks a type to relish in an AFL environment.

DGB projects as an elite intercept player who can also lock down if required which is a big tick but Cox looks like he could offer elite traits in multiple positions not to mention he is already pushing 200cm and moves like a flanker.

Thanks for the response eDPS, Cox certainly has the athletic traits and to me looks much more comfortable as a backman than a forward from the few games I have seen with his run out of defense a real plus.

DGB probably has more runs on the board as he was involved heavily in the U18 Champs win for WA last year but it would have been/would be great to see how Cox goes as a top-ager this year particularly as his body has a lot more filling out to do. Hopefully we still get the chance.

DGB has that one big game from the champs and despite playing some other good games he hasn’t really played a bulk of games at that quality, he isn’t a huge possession winner compared to say Heath Chapman who can intercept but also win his fair share of the ball. Cox’s one champs game was on the wing and although he looks ok there he has always looked better playing in key posts, think he would have shown more at the champs if given a go as a key defender but with McAsey playing the role Cox would have it would have been hard.

Was really looking forward to Cox taking on callow, Ugle-Hagen, thilthorpe and McDonald at champs.
