Not enough of your board checked my thread last year it seems :p I was talking up Butler since he was in the 16s but more as a midfielder rather than a half back, hoping the doggies don’t leave him down back.
I think the Lystics guys nailed Butler to the Dogs in their phantom draft as well. Hoping he can offer us something on the wing.

Yeah Cox played really well in the praccy against western, was the general and controlled the whole back line cutting off most of the jets fwd entries.
Think Cox would have had a big year. Graduated last year so would have spent the whole year at the Knights and put a lot of his energy into preparing for the draft. Think his dad was pretty solid too so should fill out well.

Just for the hell of it, even though it’s early do you guys want to a phantom draft, I’ll look after it. Just cause there’s nothing else and isolation can get boring.

Live trades and FS/NGA bids are on. Bidders will have to tell me when this is happening as my draft knowledge is poor. something like this for bids:

Pick 10 - Carlton

Carlton bid on GWS NGA player Tom Green.
Last years example.

Or this for live trades

Collingwood offer pick 10 to Fremantle for pick 19, 56 and 87. Just pulled those numbers from my head.

If you’re interested just put you’re name down with the team you want, like this.

St Kilda - GoSaints12

Feel free to take multiple teams but fans will be given preference of their team.

Thanks eDPS for letting me use your draft watch for this. Even though I didn’t ask. Legend.

I’ll see how much interest there is and I’ll post a DM if all or most of the clubs are full. Whether this happens now or later in the year. I don’t really mind. Just an idea if people need to get excited about something.
You could promote this on the Draft Needs thread to perhaps get more people on board that can do their own clubs.

Happy to help out and draft for a team like Gold Coast if the Phantom Draft gets up and going.

- Coleman has some rare qualities as a forward not only is he capable as a goal kicking threat and a good marking target for his size but his ability to bring his teammates into the game and also chase really makes him a near complete package as a small forward, would like to see how he would play on a wing

- Michael isnt hard to miss with his blonde hair and evasiveness, he has a good mix of inside and outside game. Would have liked to see how he handled being a stoppage midfielder for the Allies as some big games on the inside could really help complete his skill set

- Crozier is a tough one to pin down, covers the ground well and generally clean and neat but probably plays a more vanilla style compared to some players with more eye catching traits. Would like to see him play a range of positions as he is a good size.

- Abberley has nice skills and kicked a nice goal in one of the Nab League games which showed he could become a good forward aswell he certainly has the attributes as a skilful wingman/half forward type.

- Only new to football so is still a blank canvas for what he could become, was played as a 2nd ruck in the NAB League and didn’t really get to show a lot put looks a promising athletic type to watch for in the future.

He is 77kg, that’s what he tested as at the pre-season testing day

Yeah think I saw him at 87 or something on a team sheet in the pre-season but I’ll stick with the actual testing result.

- Davies is a great prospect not nay blessed with a good size for a modern midfielder he is also a good athlete and skilful player to boot, his queries aren’t all bad either as most are nitpicks and easily fixed with experience, he can be a tad slow to release the ball under pressure and is caught holding the ball a bit too much for a player that moved as well as he does.

Laconic
Best position?

- Jeffrey has plenty of traits scouts look for and is almost a complete package for a utility, would love to see how he would go playing more midfield and as much as his composure is great he can be a bit too laconic at times.

- Lake has some decent tools at his disposal, not too dissimilar to Jordan Clark in playing style what he will need to work on to be seen as a higher prospect is that added intercept ability to get his numbers up to 20 and over and that will come with improved endurance

Rhys Nicholls (AH)

- Has a lot of nice tricks down back does Nicholls, a neat left foot kick and elusive and composed with ball in hand, has grown 4cm since last year and would have had a keen eye on his development this year as potentially a leading rebounder for the Allies at the championships.

Athleticism
Upside

- Johnston is already a good size and uses it well, his athleticism is hard to judge but he doesn’t loo overly quick or have a good leap and those are two things that would be his biggest drawback.

Wingman

Speed

- Fyfe is a neat player and a good size aswell, could potentially play forward and back and wouldn’t mind seeing him at stoppages aswell. As a wingman he doesn’t kick enough or run with the ball enough to be overly damaging in that role so will need to work on that.

- How the hell did this kid miss out on academy selection? Really caught my eye in a futures game playing against Vic Metro where he had 16 disposals and kicked 2 goals, doesn’t play like his weight as he goes in hard and is surprisingly strong in the contests for someone of 66kg and was 60kg last year aswell. Honestly not sure what academy selectors where thinking kid has something about him

You know laconic means "of using very few words"?

It’s been used in footy terms before as someone who can seem like they aren’t going full on and kind of just breasing through.

I know it’s not the exact term but the meaning works somewhat, have you not heard of a player described as laconic before?

I've seen it used on BF a lot but always assumed it was by people that think the word has a different meaning.

It’s been used in commentary aswell that’s where I heard it, your not wrong though that it’s origins aren’t really the same
